Happy birthday to my favorite drummer, biggest inspiration, and above all, my icon. Thank you for all that you’ve done in your lifetime and the impact and legacy you’ve left behind. I take this day to remember you and remind myself how short life can be.

I’m so thankful to live so close to your resting place. Today I went to visit and I met your incredibly wonderful mother and dear aunt. Never in my lifetime did I think I would meet these two beautiful ladies. But they were so sweet and thankful that people still came to visit you. Telling me that I was the first person they’d seen today.

Today marks your 50th birthday, and I would be a fool to miss it. I’m glad that I can continue to honor your legacy and keep your memory alive. Thank you again Nathan Jonas Jordison.

Soooo I got my hair dyed a few days ago and I felt like sharing! I used to have stripes of red like Joey Jordison in honor of going to Knotfest. But that all faded and I wanted a change instead of going back to full black.

I feel like it ended up a bit more magenta than red which is mildly disappointing, but I’ll go over it with my own personal dye when it fades more.

Its the Curator over at the higgs archive [I just cant send an ask from over there bc its not a main blog </3], but i just wanted to let u know i DID see your reblog with all the songs and im INSANEEE about it! i really really love the lil playlist u curated for him and i loveeee the vibe you put together, it suits higgs SO well to me and i can absolutely seeing him jam out to a lot of it!!

I'm so glad you enjoyed!! This is the kind of response that makes my ideas feel worth it. You're awesome!! And yes, he would 100% get in a huff when the notes don't come naturally to him. He's impatient like that haha!

I can practically promise that some headcanons will drop here soon too lol! In the meantime, here's some songs that remind me of him and some reasons as to why.

HIGGS MONAGHAN SONGS

1). Red Guitar - Waterparks

I mean... It's in the name for god's sake. But regardless if he wields a red guitar or not, the almost playful vibe of the song makes it hard not to associate the god particle with it.

2). Pet - A Perfect Circle

Dark and sensual. When the riff kicks in, it's as if I can see him jump to appear in front of me. This reminds me more of DS1 Higgs than DS2. The black and gold fits this song incredibly well. Especially the golden mask.

3). The Way You Like It - Adema

Raunchy. Idk. I honestly don't have a whole lot to say about this one. It's kinda sexy, kinda dirty. Just like him.

Also the line "They would always say I'd never be shit. But look at me now!" Is wayyyy too fitting.

4). PALAYE ROYALE -

All of these just scream Higgs to me. I couldn't possibly pick just one... In my head he can be absolutely chaotic and loud. These songs just embody the image of him in my head. Loud, angry, demanding, and full of vengeance.

And personally, 'Fucking With My Head' almost reminds me of something Sam would play in regards to Higgs. Don't quote me on that if you're not into the whole Sam/Higgs deal though lol!

5). IF IT DOESN'T HURT - NOTHING MORE

I feel like this would be his mindset. "If it doesn't hurt at all, then it doesn't mean a thing." Tbh I feel like he would have a thing for pain if he could feel in that mechanical body. Regardless, this song is raw and emotional in a loud and desperate kind of way.

6). Army of Me - The Great Discord

Yes... I know this is a Björk song... But I like this cover better. And I think this fits the brooding aura Higgs has just perfectly. Damn does this song just scream marching into battle. Or at least that first meeting in DS1.

7). Love to Death - Mother Mother

Honestly, the only "reason" I have for this song being on the list is whimsy. What would Higgs be without whimsy? And that's exactly how this song feels. A little odd, a little out there, but still elegant. This was an odd pull, but when I made the connection, I just couldn't shake it.

8). Eating My Heart Out - Wind Walkers

Sorry if y'all don't like this. But this song could be such a Sam/Higgs anthem. Y'all just aren't ready for that conversation lmao. No other reason I attribute this to him but that!

9). Came Back Haunted - Nine Inch Nails

I love this song. Especially when Trent has that whispering section close to the end of the song. Honestly, I could pretend to hear Higgs (Troy) whispering in that portion and it made me smile. "Thank you Trent Reznor!" we all say in unison.

But also lyrically, it feels like Higgs had just came back from the beach. Take a read through and tell me what you think on this one!

10). Pretty Handsome Awkward - The Used

Soooo... My boyfriend suggested this and I practically kicked myself saying "I should've thought of this one!!". Realistically the lyrics have nothing to do with this. Just the overall vibe is perfect for our god particle.

Also! One little extra one for you. I've been thinking of writing a short fic with Higgs with the song 'Annulment' by Head Automatica in mind.

Again, obviously there's soooo many more songs in my head that I could attribute to Higgs. But these are just the few I felt really stuck out. I hope you enjoyed this!
