IM STILL ALIVE, I PROMISE (....just about)

I've been away on a sports residential trip with the high-school kids I work with and I am beyond exhausted!!!! I have never felt so bone-tired in my life not to mention the sunburn and all the bruises and cuts 😅

All that to say that I plan to jump back into writing again this weekend and super eager to update Shattered & ATOYOM in the super near future! 💜 thank you to any readers, as ever, for your patience!!!

2 years ago I beat cancer at 16. I went through 5 intense cycles of BEP Chemotherapy & 3 surgeries - the first to remove a rugby sized tumor from my right ovary, the second was a full hysterectomy to prevent the cancer spreading, the third an emergency surgery to correct a bowl prolapse all of this was to treat stage 3/4 ovarian cancer.

For the last 2 years I have been recovering from all of this, I have had extremely severe brain fog because of a hormone deficiency due to the full hysterectomy (this caused a lot of other issues but none I can be asked to mention rn). I have only recently been put on my preferred hormone as a trans man - testosterone because the NHS refused to prescribe me anything other than estrogen because I am AFAB. After a long fight back and forth, 2½ months ago I was finally prescribed a feminine dose of testosterone.

I have now in the last 3/4 weeks come out of my brain fog after 2 years of not being mentally connected to this planet or myself, suddenly I was thrown back in. It was fucking horrible!! Anyway after a couple weeks I am starting to get used to being a human again. I have a weird sense of optimism for the future, idk I just feel like it's actually going to be alright.

Hihiiii thanks for being patient friends!! I have more rottmnt stuff n plans but I'm doing OT at work + had surgery a couple days ago to get my deviated septum corrected so i can BREATHE through my nose for the first time ever (once it heals) so I've been...exhausted to say the least. Life ramble. Not fic or story related.

I tried to do a few home improvement type projects this summer and nothing was as easy as I thought it would be.

I feel disproportionately like shit about it. Like, logically, I know that these are not things anyone has taught me how to do and that it's fine. No one is mad about these half-finished projects but me. But I feel really down on myself about them and more than a little freaked out about my first try with paint remover. Turns out that shit it terrifying? But we're in a relationship now soooo...

It's all got me shook in a way that has me doubting my ability to do any of my other ideas.

Plus the work schedule this summer has been brutal and when I do have a couple days off, I barely get anything done.

So, about a month ago we got a 90 day eviction notice because our landlord wants to renovate and resell.

And holy hell, house hunting is HARD here for renters!!! There is almost NOTHING available, and when you've been flatting with other 20-somethings for the last 6 years, it's even harder to find a nice house for just a young couple wanting to finally go off on their own. Because in a flat of lazy-ass idiots, property managers JUDGE!!!

We actually had an issue with our property manager where she kept trying to shove us into this horrible, tiny flat. Even going so far as to put in an application for us when we said we didn't want it.

So, amongst all this house drama I realised something. Between the two of us, Matt and I actually have enough for a deposit on a house. So now we're looking to BUY!

Is this... Is this what being an adult feels like?

At 26, I FINALLY feel like I'm getting somewhere!!!

Random little life update,

I’ve been taking my dog on daily walks the best I can, which means I’ve missed like two days in the past week and a half but that’s because she was playing with people all day those two days and in that time, I rediscovered something.

She likes to poop a quarter of the way through the walk. It doesn’t really matter how long the walk is, it’s gonna be a quarter of the way through.

That wouldn’t be a problem if I didn’t do loop walks. My neighborhood has a road that you can go down turn onto that road and it loops back around to another end of the neighborhood so I have to carry it for 3/4 of a walk. I can still see my house when she goes.

Luckily today I went down and back on my road to check my mail so I was able to just leave it on the side of the road until I came back to get the bag which also feels weird because I feel like people are thinking that I’m just going to leave it there for good even though I do come back and pick it up and this is not the first time I’ve done that.
