I feel like I'm stuck in a time warp of like my teenage years because all I do everyday is listen to arctic monkeys and look at pictures of Alex Turner again.
'God,' he said very quietly. 'I have never been so terrified in my life.' 'What?' Diana frowned . . . 'I said I am terrified,' he said. 'I think I am in love with you, Diana. I have never felt such a thing before or ever expected to do so.' 'You don't have to say this,' she said. 'I told you I expected nothing beyond tonight.' 'I want a lifetime,' he said. 'I want eternity. Diana, send me away.'
Mary Balogh, from The Incurable Matchmaker
As it is the 1st of December and Christmas is right around the corner I'd just like to take this moment to say;
Pets are a lifetime commitment, not a holiday pass-time.
Animals do not stay young forever. They grow up. They have their own specific needs. They are expensive. They will bring more laughter and joy than you can imagine. But they can also bring stress. And frustration. You have to be prepared to go the distance and make it work. You have to be willing to persevere through the training, the ups and downs. The vet bills won't be cheap. They'll make a mess.
Pets are a lifetime commitment. They will change your whole world.
Pet shops and breeders LOVE! the holidays. Rescue shelters dread it. Families take in puppies and kittens and show them their very first Christmas, just to have them spend their second in a shelter.
Pets are not just "for now". They are forever.
[A person sitting at a table with a plate of food, caption: Oh, Cheryl, she's still in the Peace Corps. She made it a lifetime commitment.]
Being a Christian is not simply making a one-time commitment to God, but following through on that commitment all the days of your life. Today, R.C. Sproul urges us to press on in the faith.
I guess I should get used to getting a love note every time I post something. I guess that's what it means to be Thranduil. It's a lifetime commitment. This was my choice as much as it was fate because this was the first thing I’ve ever written that has gotten worldwide notice and made me a real author that other authors think of as one of them.
So, uh, with that said, um, I’d like everyone to know that she loves her “Aran” (king in Sindarin, yeah, uh..) and I’m special and she would like us to love each other among the stars and travel to far away places...okay, wow. Okay.
Is my Thranduil too romantic because I think he’s about right. I think he’s in a really good relationship with Êlúriel. They argue once and awhile. I’ll admit, they are rather, um..amorous, but I blame that on Lee Pace:
“His understanding of love is different. It’s more profound. It’s deeper.”--Lee Pace on Thranduil
Uh, yeah, I just work with what I’m given and I think he gave me a lot from that perspective. Just saying..I think Lee’s really deep...rather passionate fellow..or something..I would like to say, I don’t look like him except on Instagram.
Fun Fact: There have only been three Thranduils: Otto Preminger (director of Carmen Jones), Lee Pace and Me. I’m the only girl in this very peculiar club that has taken on Tolkien’s Thranduil in one form or another. I will admit though, I will be the only person (that I know) that will be Thranduil’s father Oropher but get to share Legolas with Anthony Daniels (C3-PO) and Orlando Bloom. Can I scream now?
Time for you to mess it up again. Never gonna happen.
Robert Sugden is going to be on the straight and narrow, (bi and wide) forever. No chance he’s messing up again. So much certainty. Paddy you egghead ex-Dad, you got shut down! Robert Sugden is on a lifetime commitment at least till he’s 80.
