Dating again kinda

So the first date I went on turned out to be a dud. The guy lied about his height by a good 12 inches. He said he was 6'1. He was probably closer to 5'1. While height isn't a huge issue for me, lying is. He also had zero personality. We met up at a trivia night with friends and I couldn't wait for it to be over so I didn't have to sit next to his weirdness.

I dived back in and went on an another date with a Southern gentleman. He was actually really nice. We met at a book sale in the mall and he carried my books. We had a great conversation that went past my regular 2 hour date max. He's leaving to visit his kids, but wants to get together when he gets back. I said yes.

Let's see where this goes. He's not Muslim and my parents are no longer allowed to make those decisions.

I'm not saying this guy is the one, but he's a nice way to get some practice. If it turns into anything....cool.

Boy Logic

I had to put Little-M in the corner last night. It went like this: Me: Boys! stop rough housing in the house! G&M: Ok MOM Me: Boys! So help me the next one that starts ANYTHING is in big trouble. G&M: Ok, ok, mom! Me: That's it!! Little-M go put your nose on the wall NOW! M: Why me?! Me: You know why, don't test me boy! M: This is so unfair! *Stomps over to the wall, sits down* Me: no stand up and face the wall M: What?! But then I can't see all the stupid stuff G does! Me: That's why it's called PUNISHMENT! M: G don't do anything stupid until I get out of this corner.

Feeling a touch pretty this sunny morning. Have had to let go of/distance myself from a few people from my circle due to bad behavior. Some of the behavior was just taking advantage of my time and space, other behavior was allowing someone to speak to me in a condescending/rude manner. I'm done with all this bullshit.

I'd rather have a tiny, loyal, compassionate, loving circle of friends than a large mass of rando assholes.

I don't need or like that kind of attention.

W, a friend of mine, said she noticed N's nastiness early on so she kept her distance. She referred to N's behavior as the spiral of crazy. Initially, I gave N the benefit of the doubt. She, like me, had gone through a horrible trauma and needed support.

As mentioned in a previous post, N's behavior escalated into verbally abusive territory via texting (I refused to speak with her or meet with her). I was straight forward with her regarding her behavior towards me and she gave me a non apology. I ended the conversation with her by telling her to pick another target.

I had distanced myself from N for several weeks, but she reached out via text and asked to close the rift. I shared my concerns and she lost it.

In true narcissist fashion, she became verbally abusive. I blocked her and moved on. Not today, Satan.

House hunting and anxiety

This is a big decision for me. For us. I've always owned homes with the Ex, including the one the boys I are living in now.

The home photographer is coming today at 2 pm to take exterior and interior pictures of our home. I'm getting ready to put it on the market. The hope is I can find something we like in the school district. So it'll be a contingent sale.

I'm nervous and am dealing with some low key anxiety, but also know this is the right decision.

My older son, however, has made it known he is terrified by this potential move. The Ex is looking for another McMansion. Based the on the size the boys have described, one he can't afford. My son thinks I'm going for a McMansion. I've assured him multiple times, I'm not interested in Mcmansions. I want something affordable.

They have barely anything at his house anyway. So if he forecloses, it'll make no difference to my boys. Their main home is with me.

The Ex is a baffoon and his shitty behavior has caused major trauma to my kids. Both constantly worry about money and by finances. I thought we were past this, but the Ex McMansion hunting has triggered them.
