Many of you are old enough to remember the 70's, and if you're not, as a thrifter you've at the very least seen the remnants of the disco era scattered across shelves and flea market folding tables. We can probably all agree, one of the hallmarks of 1970's machismo were character based cologne bottles and decanters. There were a TON of them. Everything from cars to planes, pistols, and well, Fireman's helmets. Perhaps the top 3 perpetrators of this kitschy trend were Jim Beam, Lionstone, and last but definitely not least, Avon. But none the less, if you are looking to start a collection with VOLUME, character glass and ceramic pieces will keep you busy for years and years. This Lionstone decanter example is a bit on the scarce side but we are pricing it well below market for $29.99 at our Greentree location. It would make a great gift for a fire fighter OR a collector and is big, bright, and very sharp. Have a great saturday thrifters!
