Except plenty of the people you’re talking about have full-throatedly said creators should just make new characters instead of racebending.
Or adapting characters that are already minorities.
Many of them say that racebending white characters to ethnic minority characters is racist. That it implies or assumes those characters have to piggyback instead of standing on their own two feet.
They also regularly claim that the race-bending only seems to go from white to non-white, and never the reverse, so it seems a tad dishonest to look around and pretend those aren’t responses to deliberate actions by progressives.
