Jing: He still refuses to use that bathroom in our home.

Stardew Valley AU!

Macaque is a rancher and the bull is based of off his shadow/smoke monster thingy. He also has the other barn animals, not just cows. Bai He is also here because I love her.

Here are some more sketches, idk if I'm going to do more with this au, but I thought I'd post. Everyone is in their theoretical summer outfits. Maybe I'll make all season outfits of my favourites. I did get some inspiration from Roseywolf5 fanfic on ao3 (https://archiveofourown.org/series/3270705). Things like Macaque being a rancher, Mei and her family running the general store, or MK and Wukong being brothers, I got from the fanfic. But there is a lot different too, like the Mayor exists.

More Saltus art + lore and a few thoughts (under the cut)

Firstly about the process. I was today years old when it finally clicked how I can make digital art fully enjoyable for me (and I've been trying to draw digitaly for 6 years). My digital art and traditional never felt the same since when I drew traditionally I am always messy, from my colouring to my lineart. But digitally I always felt like it needed to be perfectly tidy which always drew me insane. So I just took a picture of my traditional doodle and just coloured it. I had so much fun and it took way less time then digital usually takes me. So yea.

Secondly.. LORE

This is my annual reminder that Saltus is a kid. A 14 year old kid who before everything was a gifted kid who aced all exams in school and went to shit loads of extra curiculars (I mean like judo, tennis, extra math and IT classes) who on a random tuesday practically lost everything. Like here's how I imagine he turned into a spider demon:

This would take place during the Spider Queen takeover (aka Chinese New Year). Saltus would have been on his way home from tennis. He would've been tired, frustrated and upset. Everyone would be in his position, he is missing the celebration due to a sport he hates. And instead of going home, he decides to quickly try and catch a slight glimpse of the parade or the booths, only to come face to face with a spider bot. At first he wouldn't even notice it, head up in the clouds, then the spider bot would attack him. Saltus scared shittless on instinct would try and fight it, but the more he fought the worse it hurt. Suddenly he'd throw the bot away from him, hitting the wall across from him (btw, this takes place in a small alley way), yet the pain wouldn't stop. Everything hurt, everything felt off.. and the next moment when he'd open his eyes he'd be slowly getting off the floor, his body shaking and skin weirdly purple. That simple observation would instantly set him into a panic as he'd try to get home. And when he'd get there he'd quickly hide in his room trying to figure out what happened, only for his parents to come see what is up with him since it's disrespectful not to go and great them.

...

Suddenly there would only be yelling. His parents screaming at him where there son is and what has he done. They wouldn't recognise him, hell his father would grab the closest thing to him and throw it at Saltus while yelling at him to get out. And while Saltus would try to convince them in the end he'd leave because what else are you supposed to do..?

An hour or so later the Queen's plan would be in full swing and I think that Saltus would take an oportunity to gather supplies to try and survive. He'd grab a backpack and fill it with mostly food and maybe a jacket (just in case). But as we all know this 'grace' period wouldn't last long. Mk and the gang would soon defeat the Queen and her lackies. And Saltus would be up against the real world.

The moment things in the city got semi normal, Saltus would be on his feet looking for a shelter or job. But nobody would take him and honestly who would even concider it? He's a kid with no form of identification and is the same species as the guys who barely few days ago brainwashed the whole city. Every normal person would see him as a spy.

So after a few long weeks of constant failing and hiding, I think he'd stumble upon a sewer cannal and all he'd see is an opportunity to move secretly around the city. So, he'd enter and pretty quickly get lost. And now these specifics can a bit murky since I haven't quite decided yet what seems the most plausible, but during his wandering either he'd set of one of Syntax's security protocols, Huntsman's traps or run head first into Goliath or Huntsman. Either way it will end up with a very hysterical Saltus being dragged to the Spider Queen since lets be real spider demons aren't that common and here is a spider demon child??

I can see Spider Queen pinching his cheek and saying "my my, aren't you adorable? I could just eat you right up!" while Saltus would be literally shitting himself. I don't see this scene fully yet but I know that Spider Queen would be the main attraction contemplating what to do with him (and constantly adding comments to scare him). Saltus would be down right terrified, like barely saying a word and only he would he would say he will do what ever she asked of him and that would catch her attention. That's when she'd actually give him a proper idea of what he just got himself into.

And the rest of the day I think he'd be babysat by Goliath. They'd set up his room (they'd find a blanket, a pillow and a shitty dirty a matress). Goliath would try to talk to him but Saltus would barely be responding to him, like only to the polite degree. But everyone and their mother would be able to tell that the kid was just scared and didn't trust them.

Then the next few weeks would be training and cultural education for him with Huntsman (who like I said in a previous post Saltus would've scared of but respected and wanted to prove himself to) and Goliath (with who he'd maybe let down his walls just little).

Then finally he's officially meet Syntax. He'd be send there to 'help' him in the lab (aka Syntax's turn to babysit the spiderling). And that official meeting would be a shit show since it's then that Saltus would realise who'd robot attacked him. There are two ways that this could go.

Route A) Saltus becomes barely responcive and I mean like barely hears Syntax and looks through him. Just lost in his head as he replays that day over and over again. In the end Syntax would just ignore him and mutter a few choice words under his breath.

Or Route B) Saltus tries to play it cool, but every time Syntax makes a comment that is slightly rude Saltus gets just a bit closer to snapping. Ans then Syntax would probably make a comment about Saltus being dumb and beneath him. And he'd just crash out. Literally yelling at Syntax, cussing him out, venting every frustration he's been bottling up (counting all the things he's done to please his parents) and maybe even get physical with him.

But either way Syntax and Saltus have a very strained relationship in the beggining. Later I'd be more like little and big brother who have a love hate relationship, but that would take months to build up, maybe even years after they all get revived I think Synax and Saltus would be on a bit better terms cuz Saltus would start coming to him a lot more just to avoid Sandy (I am a strong believer that if they got revived Huntsman would start visiting Sandy more often and that Sandy would be playing the wannabe therapist/the most healthy friend. Huntsman and Goliath would be pretty often there, Spider Queen would sometimes come for a cup of tea and Syntax frankly would be disinterested. Saltus would be a bitter little shit that wouldn't be able to handle it, so he'd go to Syntax just to ignore his problems and stuff).

Umm. Yea. So back to the picture yea? In the timeline it would take place like a month or 2 into Saltus' stay with the Spider clan. He would've by then made his den a bit cosier, more pillows and blankets he stole and the broken tiger plushie for his nest. Saltus just had a mentally bad day and all he thought about was his old life and the humanity and the future he lost and how he can never return to it. And he just couldn't handle it anymore and just had a good cry in his (pseudo) nest.

If I were to turn this into a comic or fanfic, I'd probably make it like that Huntsman would be on his regular last patrol of the night when he'd smell a bitter smell he hadn't really smelt before. He'd come to check it out, only to realise it's coming from Saltus' room. He'd instantly come and check up on him and to see him crying, he's be truly shocked cuz out of everything he never expected to randomly see Saltus cry. Saltus when he'd notice Huntsman would instantly straighten up, wipe his tears and try to hide thw plushie, instantly put back the mask and act like nothing happened. Huntsman of course wouldn't let that slide and start teasing him about it, Saltus would deffend himself as best as he could, until Huntsman would start lightly mocking him until he came to the topic of his shitty nest.

"What's wrong with my nest!?" Oof, wrong question. Next thing you know, it'd be an hour long education on how to make nests and why having a nice nest is important. While this would seem pretty random, I believe that it'd be Huntsman's way of trying to help Saltus, firstly distract him from his pity party then secondly get him active thirdly I headcanon that spider demons have nests and dens for reasons. While yes, they do it so they have a place to sleep, I like to believe that they make them comfortable and relatevly pretty so that they are little safe spaces, highly personal and different from person to person. So, Huntsman helping make Saltus his nest would have few different meaning. A) Huntsman instead of comforting him, he tried to help him have a comfort place. B) A wordless way of him trying to show him that he is a spider demon now and that he is cared here. Like I said nests are highly personal, Huntsman stepping in and helping out and teaching him is something in spider demon culture a parent would show you how to do. And Huntsman at that moment would have decided to try and fill that role.

Though the funny/sad part is that due to Saltus not fully understanding nest culture all these small signs would've flown over his head. But either way he'd cherish that small moment.

Alright, I got into Lego Monkie Kid and watched 4 seasons, waiting for my friend who I pulled into the hyperfixation so we can watch season 5. I wanna talk a little about the spider gang (because I love them. Haters back off)

So, they had such good potential for a deeper story and a redemption arc. We especially saw traces of said redemption arc in Huntsman and the Spider Queen.

Huntsman figured out who/what LBD is after seeing it in the Demon revealing mirror and started to question what they are doing. Especially after the Episode "To Catch a Leaf" after his fight with Sandy. He thought about Sandy and the fight, he questioned his mission for LBD. He probably could've easily taken the whole flower from Sandy but only took one leaf. I wouldn't be surprised if he would've gone to the Monkie kids to tell them about the plan from LBD if he had the chance. HE KEPT THE FRICKING TEABAG FROM SANDY GUYS! THAT MAN REGRETTED HIS CHOICES!!

As for the Spider Queen, she tried repairing her mech to attack LBD. She felt helpless when MK destroyed it again. She helped MK escape, buying him time to flee from LBD and warn the others. My wild guess was that she hoped/knew MK could defeat LBD. I can only imagine how horrifying it was for her to see the ghosts of her henchmen being used by LBD to attack her. I imagine Goliath and Huntsman (and later Syntax) were her only family. She must've felt protective of them to a degree. My personal opinion is that Syntax is the youngest, Goliath the middle and Huntsman the oldest. I also like to think Goliath and Huntsman are brothers. But that's beside the point. Point is, they were all like a little family. Her heart must've been shattered to pieces when she saw that not only her boys were killed by LBD/Mayor but that they were now used to fight her. She probably didn't want to fight them.

I also would've loved to see more interactions with Goliath and a backstory about how Syntax started working for Spider Queen in the first place. Plus, Goliath and Huntsman being brothers. (Huntsman perching on Goliath's shoulder makes me smile every time). Actually a whole background story on all 3 of the boys. They had so much potential that got wasted when they were just killed off and done and I'm very upset about that.

Yeah that was my little ramble about them. I just love them :]
