Location idea: Firmament's Hymn - a sky bound cathedral
Deep in a high mountain range sits a forgotten cathedral of archaic worship. It gray marble walls shine from the distance over those who traverse valleys below.
Few people have heard of it and even fewer seen this marvel. Only goliath clans speak tales of day when cathedral appeared on the mountainside ledge. They don't climb near ancient monument, out of respect for faith and wishes of long dead priests, but if a faithful hero might come to recover the temple, clan may help them reach the granite ledge.
If travelers manage to enter the cathedral they will find it surrounded by smaller buildings merging all together, with base of the church and outer walls with a narrow street that loops around actual temple. This miniature town of long forgotten acolytes is built from smooth plates of marble, save for towers of blackened silver that rise above in twin sets like a tuning forks. The place is empty, but still guarded. Air elementals are bound to defend it, conjured by shrines and statues around the sacred site. They will attack, if anyone would dare to commit sacrilege.
The cathedral itself is sealed. All entrances are closed from inside, except the main gate that opens to the melody of hymn written in outer bell towers. But if someone would enter into the inner sanctum they would learn the history and purpose of the Firmament's Hymn.
The cathedral was build on a disc of black silver that is said to be a fragment that fell from the night sky. Clerics of ancient deity of sky treated it as miracle for the metal reasoned with their voice. They've built temple in honor of the divine gift, but also to harness it's potential, because when resonating with bells the towers set entire disc into vibrations that made it levitate. This defying gravity phenomenon was mastered and thus the cathedral left into skys from where it warded lands below, until the day it landed in mountains outside of civilization that was enveloped by war.
