Iona nodded and bowed, “hello Rosier pleasure to see you again.” On Voldemort’s count the duel began. Rosier struck quickly but Iona blocked. It seemed Rosier strategy was to overwhelm Iona. As she blocked with the wand, she muttered words and traced symbols with her other hand. She had blocked him for the eighth time in a row and Rosier didn’t seem to be slowing, suddenly vines shot out of nowhere yanking Rosier down by the ankles as Iona summoned his wand. Quickly she spoke, “I wouldn’t move quite yet Rosier, the vines will cut off your circulation.” She pointed her wand toward the root, “incendio.” The root disappeared as the remaining vine turned black and withered. “You may like to feed the vine scraps to your chicken when she molts next. It’s rather high in vegetable protein and healthy fats.”
Rosier was a gracious and affable man to his associates, and offered Iona a smile and a bow before the duel commenced. He shook her hand afterwards, grinning. "If you are ever interested in some friendly sparring, let me know," he said, nodding. "I usually duel MacNair but it has hit a point where I perhaps know him better than he does. And Dolohov won't practice with me anymore since I sent him flying through the hedges. Not to worry- I would ever send a lady flying through the hedges!"
"Rosier, you can flirt later," Voldemort intervened, beckoning Iona aside. "I do not know if he was truly flirting," he assured her as she came forward. "He seems to be like that with everyone. Now - this next challenge," he said, gesturing to a table with two small ornate chests, "may be something you are familiar with. A simply logic puzzle. One of these chests contains ten galleons. The other contains a deadly serpent. Read the inscriptions, and then open the chest holding the galleons."
The first chest's inscription: This chest contains the python. The second chest's inscription: Exactly one of these two inscriptions is true.
