Getting unbelievably fed up with every single "adult" fiction book in stores these days being at a 6th grade reading level. Are we just doomed to keep rereading classics? What's the answer, how do you find complex contemporary stories in the big year 2026? Is there a way to check bc from what I've seen the literacy level websites are designed only for children's books??

They’re a test tube boy, summarizing general lore here;

Mojo Jojo created him after a bunch of failed tests, X-JG374 is the longest living test subject to be made from human tissue without previously being contacted with chemical x. Their history is filled with memories of living a majority of his life inside connected to machinery. Being only a few days old, 374 is about as naive as the girls were when they first were made, the exception being that jojo built him from a petrie dish. After many failed attempts to create a more “natural” heroine, they created a genetic anomaly. Feeding specifically on X-concentrate through an IV and receiving electric shock therapy for physical movement, decreased cranial pressure, and better motor skills. Without super strength, or the usual catalog of powers for these bug eyed babies, Jojo decided to continue experimentation until 374 could operate without dysfunctions. There has been many before, but many did not exceed stage 6 in formation, making them failed cases or cases left aside for further processed experimentation or genetic modification.

So far 374 has been the only successful manmade by hand child, and they are very aware of their circumstances. Being the only of four brothers who couldnt go outside as long, or the outer tissue cells would deconstruct, dragging his tangle of tubes and wires across every playroom their fathers had given them. 374 has poor eyesight, and does not have a visible pupil inside the iris, that or there is no iris, and their eyes nearly form a solid color; mainly reflecting the color from the environment around him. The bones ache within its small confinement, and only god knows what happens when X-JG374 cannot fit inside their skin anymore. Its so itchy, and sometimes the concentrate from the IV is so addictive, what could be the worst that would happen if 374 had too much of it, or in the circumstance, if they’re without it for too long, what would happen to them.

I’m still fond of the ppg, i still have really good friends from the fandom im just not chill with the fandom like, at all. Ive met great people, amazing people in fact. But there is an UNCHECKED AMOUNT of horrible behavior in that fandom that comes MAINLY FROM THE ADULTS. My friends and the good ones are the only bright things about it but there is just a lot of burnout around me and ppg related stuff.

I cant believe i drew ppg from 14, till 21 nearly. Thats a lot of time just on that alone and ive always loved the show since i was a little girl. No its not because of the 3000+ folder of EVERY PPG OC ON DEVIANTART FROM ONCE THE FIRST ONE WAS TAGGED TILL CURRENT DAY 2023 that i was dedicating myself to draw because i love every damn character i come across. It literally has made my pc into a big brick lmao

A thing that annoys me so much about the show lately is how they keep bringing back characters from the Classic Era with little to no explaination as to who they are and what their business is.

Idk, maybe I'm just not paying enough attention to the mess, but I literally have no idea who these characters are half the time and what their relevance is. It's all just nostalgia for the sake of nostalgia, and it fucking sucks for those of us who's only enjoyed the New Who era.

And as someone who's only watched the show from the start of the New Who era, I don't think it's fair to be told that I "should just watch the Classic Era if I want context" because RTD literally did Classic Who reintroductions so well back in his first era. I adored Sarah Jane Smith and understood that she had a past relationship with the Doctor, because it was explained in the show! But I loved her for how she was protrayed in New Who, independent and taking what she learned from her time with the Doctor to do good - because we got to know her! I don't have to go back and rewatch Classic Who to properly enjoy Sarah Jane because of how her reintroduction in New Who was done.

Majority of the villains from the Classic era also get reintroduced so well. I loved that the audience was from the perspective of the companion instead of the Doctor. That way we got to learn about these species at the same pace as them, by picking up on context clues of how the Doctor interacts with them and talks about them. Dalek is so good for this reason - It's the New Who audience's first introduction to the Daleks and we learn throughout the episode that they're an evil species that wiped out the Doctor's entire planet, which is why he hates them so much. They're not plopped into the story with the expectation that the audience should know who the Daleks are, because the audience doesn't.

I personally am not able to get myself to care about Mel, Susan, Sutekh, the Rani, Omega and whatever Classic Who character that's in this era right now - Because I don't know them and I never get to know them, unless I go back and watch Classic Who. Which isn't how this should fucking work!!! Really feels like RTD is shoving these Classic era characters in our faces and going "Look!! Classic era character!! Cream your pants now!!!"

Gentle reminder that diagnosis is not some magical fix it all validation paper. It helps you get the right treatment. You can also get treated for a disorder without a diagnosis.

I feel like people on the internet (especially in the CDD circles) are way too focused on having a diagnosis to prove some random trolls wrong. That's not what a diagnosis is for.

I think you should try to focus on getting better first...like.. for example I'm not diagnosed with DID and I'd like to get tested for it eventually. But first I'm going to focus on things that actually make my life shit like dissociation/derealization, memory problems and possible trauma. I'm done trying to get some paper just so I can say "hey guys look I'm valid". Because that doesn't change anything about my struggles.

Internet doesn't matter.
