Lumi I feel threatened 😭 I think what I like best about my writing ties in with my own approach to emotions. In real life I find articulating the complexities and intensity of my own emotions very difficult,but I usually find myself pleased when I read through an emotionally pivitol scene for my characters,and I at least feel to my own brain,that I’ve articulated the character’s tangled web of volatile emotions in a way that resonates to me. I find grief and pain and embarrassment immensely hard to voice comprehensively in real life,but when I go back and reread old writing,I’ll hit a metaphor I wrote and be like “I know exactly what feeling I was describing,I know the depth and visceral level I described a year or two years ago.” And obviously I’m biased and this is my own psychology,but it’s the point in my writing that I at least don’t get frustrated with later.
