Legend tries so hard. He really does. But no matter what, he never looks scary. I didn't find many examples (mostly bc I'm too tired to rly look but) here, Legend tries so hard to look super scary and angry but he just looks so adorable
You know who looks genuinely scary sometimes? Hyrule.
For example, he doesn't try to here, but this look just gives me the chills when I see it. They look almost the same but it just looks scarier on Hyrule's face.
To put it simply, the scary genes skipped a generation and Legend tries to compensate a lot while Hyrule is just effortlessly scary.

Now, what do we know about its placement? Well, in that spot there is a really big artery that, if cut, could cause you to bleed out
We can also see he has long sleeves to cover it easily, and he only seems to be showing it now
Now, I don't know if he would show it if this was an attempt or not, but they are showing off scars here and he doesn't explain it, ever.
But, for a monster to get it, that deep, that straight, that SPOT, feels bear impossible to me
He would have kept that spot guarded, especially in battle. It's a massive weak point after all
However, it IS possible that he could have gotten it when he was younger, though I almost doubt it
To me, it looks like he attempted almost, and didn't have the means to properly patch it up. You can tell it wasn't stitched, but rather wrapped due to how thick it is and the coloring of it.
I can't say for certain, and Jojo has never said anything about it, but, if this was an attempt...
