Tell me there is a rumor of another red dead game.

Okay, lemme break this down for y’all. 

Sometimes, I get really bored at work (it happens to everyone, okay?) and I look up news for the few games I’m actually excited to play. So today it was Uncharted 4 (and if you’re interested, Game Informer has a nifty hub here), and Red Dead, because I literally never stop thinking about that goddamn game. 

But there’s always that nagging feeling that, although Red Dead has been out for 5 years, that no one is really letting it go and I don’t want them to because I am so obsessed with this game like it’s not even funny. 

A while back, there had been speculations that Rockstar was going to release some news at E3, in a big way, because the CEO of their parent company, Take-Two, had said that it was obvious that Red Dead Redemption was a permanent franchise, like GTA or Bully. It seemed logical that after stating this, there would be solid evidence of another red dead. And what did they reveal? GTA5 for the next-gen consoles. (whoop-di-freaking-do). 

However, back in December, Gamespot had released an article summarizing Rockstar’s “Asked & Answered" about a Red Dead reboot. Again, Rockstar gracefully avoided any hard proof of a sequel (or in my hopes, a prequel) but the article goes on to theorize that because there are over 35 job postings on Rockstar’s site, they must gearing up for at least 2 games, and one of them might be red dead. 

So, it’s safe to assume that Rockstar is appreciative of the love and support from people like us, but still won’t give any indication. We’ll just have to live in our dusty New Austin imaginations until further news. I had thought there was something about potential news in spring 2015, but I can’t find the source. 

But you’d think, in the meantime, they’d give us an updated red dead for PS4, right?!
