Rant incoming

Everyone always talks about the lack of BLACK superheroes but no one ever talks about the lack of black FEMALE superheroes

And we do have some

but their always side stories never part of the bigger picture or the ones saving the day like storm or some shit and usually they’re always the main characters girlfriend or stand in till they figure out their feeling for the true (usually white) female

Or like Logan and Storm from X men the disposable black girlfriend kills me every time since it’s ALWYAS a interracial couple (not that there is anything wrong) but it’s just frustrating even in reverse!!

With miles and Gwen bitches were upset at Margo for “getting in the way” of their ship!! Or With arcane jayvik and Mel I DONT watch arcane but I didn’t even know Mel was a love Interest!!! I just wish we had our own stories or something like with Naomi Mcduffie and even that was Short lived!!

Im tired of us being a token character why are we the disposable black character?? Or the black best friend!! Usually sassy and in need to help out the non-black main character where we fix the mc’s life at a low point or the comedic relief with answers and the laughs or were usually the nerdy smart ones (but thats usually In boys black girls aren’t usually seen as nerdy and awkward but thats a whole nother topic) saw this video by queentiwa titled “why can’t black girls be weird, shy, or nerdy” and was taken aback by how much I related to it

I was and AM that girl I like nerdy shit but DONT talk about it I was labeled an “Oreo” and “white washed” for simply liking things that my black peers didn’t like I like watching anime I love “different” music
