Hello Everyone! I hope you are all doing good 😘. I wrote some headcanons about Mablung. This elf deserves more love from us.

-Mablung of the heavy hand, famed warrior of Doriath and Thingol’s greatest army captain.
-His extraordinary combat abilities are very well known all around Beleriand. Many respect him and many other fear him.
-Mablung didn’t had any weaknesses to fall for. He was invincible, until... he met you.
-Its very likely your relationship started up as a friendship which slowly bloomed into great love.
-Being in a relationship with Mablung is like living a dream. His love is warm and he never takes you for granted.
-Mablung loves to spend lots of time with you. For him, each minute is precious. Every moment spent with this elf is like an escape from the harsh reality and cruel wars.
-He loves to take you out on dates. He’ll show you his favorite spots around Menergoth. He’ll invite you to taste the best food. And will even take you for a ride through the woods of Doriath. Of course he will insist both only use one horse.
-Another of the privileges of courting Mablung is being able to watch him train and give combat lessons to the younger elven soldiers. And if he takes off his shirt, you’ll enjoy it even more.
-The young ones will tease Mablung when they notice you, but it doesn’t bother him, he likes to know you are watching him.
-He might even show off a little, for the young warriors to learn, clearly.
-When Mablung uses his complete armor he looks very handsome. One of the benefits of his profession.
-Mablung may need to act stern when other soldiers or when the King is around. But he is always very sweet with you.
-The soft way he treats you doesn’t compare to the stoic way with which he addresses his soldiers.
-Unfortunately, Mablung’s job keeps him away for very long periods of time. He may need someone who can handle themselves when he is not present. He needs someone who’s independent.
-Mablung has seriously considered faking a sickness just to stay a little longer with you. But his honorable and strict moral code wouldn’t let him do that. But if you ask him... maybe he’ll do it.
-After long periods of time away, the reunions are very emotional. Sometimes you’ll end up crying while holding each other. Especially if you knew Mablung was going on a dangerous mission.
-You are Mablung’s most valuable possession. He can loose anything but you. He has vowed to himself to protect you, even if he no longer lived to see you again.
-Mablung has seen so much evilness, death, and misery in his life. He doesn't wants you to experience the same.
-One of his deepest fears is losing you. He is afraid someone may use you to cause him harm. It’s not fair for you to get affected by his problems.
-That’s why he is so interested in teaching you self-defense. Even if it’s a few movements. It gives him peace of mind to know you are not completely defenseless.
-When Mablung is around Menergoth, you may visit him from time to time in the barracks.
-Army guards have grown accustomed to your visits. They even enjoy them, especially when you bring some food or treat for them.
-They are happy for his commander to have such a good-hearted partner by his side.
-When Mablung is informed of your visit he’ll rush to meet you.
-You’ll end up volunteering as a healer or a cook in the army to spend more time around Mablung.
-Doriath elves are grateful to have Mablung as warrior and protector of Menergoth, so expect to receive many grateful gifts.
-From jewels to chickens. Everything is appreciated.
-Mablung has many friends because of his job. And everyone is aware of how much Mablung cares for you.
-Menergoth elves care deeply for you because of being the partner of a renowned warrior. And they’ll love you even more if you treat them kindly.
-The Queen is well aware of this and may ask you to help her out in social events.
-Mablung, as loved as he is, he is also respected. No one will dare to put a hand on you. It’s a guarantee.
-No living being would dare to provoke Mablung’s anger, especially when King Thingol has you both in such high regard.

- With Mablung as committed as he is to both you and being a Marchwarden, you will find that he will do everything that he can to compromise on his duties to Thingol and Doriath and to you.
- You are undoubtedly the reason he works even harder to make sure that Doriath stays well protected though he doesn’t just squander the time away with just working.
- Mablung, along with his committed behavior, is also very fair and just so he does his best to make sure that his time is evenly split between you, as he doesn’t want you thinking he cares only about his work.
- It certainly means not picking up any extra duties unless it is absolutely necessary and comes directly from the King himself, and in those cases he always has someone send word to you as quickly as possible.
- When Mablung is in Doriath he is very focused on making sure to spend time and doing things with you as much as he can when his duties within the Kingdom allow for it.
- Every second spent with him is a means for affection, regardless of who is watching, though in the presence of Thingol they are considerably tamer and more subtle.
- So while he may freely give out many affections while around other elves, like kisses and hugs and lots of other affections, in front of the King and Queen themselves anticipate for it to be a hand on the small of your back or your hand in the crook of his arm.
- While Mablung may like to spend his free time with you while not doing his duties, anticipate for you to be brought along to many social gatherings.
- He’s quite the social butterfly and has good standing in with other elves, and certainly likes to jump at the chance to be able to socialize with his friends.
- Mablung is very social but warm and fun so these get togethers won’t just be filled with boring socialization.
- If you’re not as extroverted, expect that Mablung will absolutely respect that about you.
- Instead he will try and keep these gatherings small or give you the option to either escape from them or to not attend at all.
- Though you won’t have to worry that he will be gone for endless hours should you decide not to attend them. Maybe a few hours at most, but nothing that would make you feel as though he cares more about them than you.
- Mablung is extremely considerate of your needs and pretty protective over you as well.
- Don’t anticipate for him to be restrictive in his drive to protect you, you will still have all your usual freedoms. It’s just that Mablung is keeping a watchful eye on you in the meantime.
- Should someone be speaking ill of you to Mablung, he is very quick to shut them down and call them out for being such a hateful being.
- If rumors are flying about in regards to you, Mablug will get to the source of it and put an end to it that way.
- Expect that physically whatever harm that may try and come for you, will absolutely be handled by Mablung himself and without a second thought.
- Should he not be available, one of his friends will certainly be there due to his insistence to keep you out of harms way.
- And in the event you decide you do not need his help for such physical instances, Mablung will certainly make sure you are well versed and taught in the name of self defense.
- He loves you and wants nothing more than for you to be safe and happy.
Imagine traveling with Mablung and killing dragons.
(I was sent a request with this idea in mind. The idea didn’t leave me for a long time, so I made my own. Hope you enjoy! Fair warning, this might have depressive things,)
Warnings; mentions of dead family members, violence, self destructive habits and depressive thoughts.
-Mablung was saddened by Turin's and his family's passing and felt hopeless for not being able to help them before their demise.
-He was then called upon by Melian, who then spoke there was still hope for the house of Hurin.
-One of Hurin's children was still alive.
-Mablung was shocked to hear this, but he was willing to find them, so he set out toward north, where Melian said they could be.
-She told him to look for a person called Wanderer, or Dragonslayer as some knew them.
-Someone who fights dragons. The thought sounded unbelievable because dragons were powerful and violent creatures. Who in the right mind would want to fight them?
-The search was difficult. Mablung wandered for a long time, looking for the dragonslayer. One day, he finally managed to find a lead when someone told him to look for the dragonslayer in the nearby mountains.
-Eager to finally meet them, Mablung went to the mountains, but he forgot the be careful because the next thing that happened was a wild dragon attacking him from behind.
-The ambush was quick, and the dragon disarmed him from his weapons. The dragon held him down against the ground and was ready to kill him.
-Hope left Mablung's eyes, and he was prepared to meet his fate, ashamed he couldn't find the last surviving member of the house of Hurin
-That's how he then met you.
-You appeared just in time to save him from the dragon, using magic unknown to him.
-You quickly slew the beast with the strength of twenty men and power beyond his understanding.
-Mablung was astounded by your strength and how quickly you took down the beast, but he soon collected himself when you turned your attention toward him.
-You were pretty pissed to have your hunt disrupted and told him to be more careful in the future if he appreciated his life.
-When Mablung saw your features and the way you spoke, he knew he finally found the last surviving member of the house of Hurin.
-And that's how you two started traveling together.
-You didn't ask him to join you. You actually told him many times to leave you alone. You genuinely didn't like people, especially those who know about your family.
-He was pretty persistent and didn't back down when you told him you slew dragons for a living.
-He actually wished to join and aid you on your dragon-slaying quest.
-So. In the end, you gave in and allowed Mablung to join on your travels.
-He was good when it came to social situations, so you started leaving the talking to him.
-He was a competent warrior and a good cook, so he started making your meals most of the time.
-That's because when he saw you eat little leftovers from your travels. You also cooked your meat half raw and sometimes ate raw mushrooms, so he insisted on cooking meals for both of you.
-You didn't complain and allowed him to do his thing with the cooking pot.
-He was a pretty damn good cook, you give him that. You even started eating a bit more healthy too, thanks to his cooking.
-You were snappy and cranky toward him, but Mablung had patience and didn't mind it. He wanted to earn your trust.
-He was curious about what happened to you because you were proclaimed dead after an incident.
-You were Turin's younger sibling and the second oldest child.
-When the Easterlings came, you stayed behind with your mother to look after her since she was still pregnant with Nienor.
-When you three fleed, you risked your life to save Nienor, then fell into the debs of earth, never seen again.
-You didn't like talking about yourself, but you told him what happened so he won't ask in the future.
-You survived the fall but got seriously injured and trapped in the caves under the earth.
-You found a creature, and they took you in and trained you to use magic to defeat dragons and other kinds of monsters.
-The creature told you many terrible things would happen in the future, and you trained hard so you could protect your family.
-When you were ready, you got out, and then dwarves took you in when they found you, and that's how you started killing dragons.
-You looked for your family, but when you finally found them. It was already too late.
-And the rest was history.
-Mablung would feel sympathy for you but didn't question it further.
-You rarely asked about your brother and sister, but when you did, Mablung would tell many good things Turin did and how alike you two were.
-Stubborn and determined, Mablung once described you two.
-You would remain quiet after those talks, thinking about your siblings. Mablung would cease talking about them, hoping it didn't cause you to live bad memories.
-You two would develop your relationship very slowly.
-You would teach Mablung some techniques to kill a dragon because you had saved him more than twice, and it was becoming irritating.
-He would always apologize and promise he would do better in the future.
-You also taught him some magic tricks and gave him runes to enchant his abilities.
-The runes burned when you wrote them on his skin. It was unpleasant, but he was fascinated by them.
-He has never seen such art of magic.
-And he's touched that you want him to have a higher chance of survival when you both go hunting.
-You had a bad experience with people, so you had trust issues and avoided people most of the time.
-You still treated him like a pest, but he could see that you started softening up for him, which gave him delight. He wished to be someone you could trust.
-You had a dry and dark sense of humor, so that's one of the reasons you leave talking to him. He was used to it, but people sometimes questioned your mental health when they heard you say that having a sword twisted into your gut felt better than talking.
-You call Mablung by many names, insults being most of them.
-Sindarin cave goblin and forest chinchilla are your favorites.
-You once took him to meet the dwarven family who took you in. He needed proper weapons to fight a dragon. Bow and arrows are good but not enough when it's about close combat, and elven daggers are not enough to pierce dragon scales.
-Mablung considered it was a bad idea because elves and dwarves didn't get along, and he was almost right. Your dwarven family didn't like him at all.
-They would make crude comments about him and his kin. They would also criticize his ability to assist you on your hunts.
-Mablung would try to remain polite, but even with patience like his. It was difficult.
-Especially when you once called out your adoptive siblings for talking shit about him in dwarven tongue.
-Mablung would soon gain their respect when you two visited them more often for weapon repair. They would get used to him and then accept him since if you respected him, then he's trustworthy.
-They were most likely just protective of you.
-Time would pass, and you two got closer. Mablung would have gotten used to your daily life that even he can take down a dragon with no problem.
-Mablung understood your grudge toward Glaurung and his brood, so he was glad to help take them down.
-But he also found himself in a difficult predicament because he found himself having feelings for you.
-He would think them through over and over again and feel conflicted about them.
-He feels conflicted because you were a mortal and killed dragons for a living, and he didn't want to lose you.
-Especially when you have self-destructing habits.
-You sometimes carry wounds without treatment. You didn't take care of yourself, and sometimes you don't go to sleep when you need it.
-You have even passed out a couple of times due to exhaustion. Mablung always had heart attacks after you passed out.
-You were also too stubborn to change that and kept telling him it sometimes happens and you can handle it.
-You look after him during battles, but he looks after you the most when it comes to your physical health.
-One day. When you two were preparing for another trip, your dwarven father wished to speak with him.
-He took notice of Mablung's growing feelings for you and wished to talk about that.
-Mablung would feel embarrassed and apologize for crossing the line.
-Your dwarven family was okay with it and encouraged him to go with it.
-You were self-destructive, and the sadness within you grew every day, biting on your will to live. Your dwarven family feared it might be your end one day.
-You kept telling yourself to kill the dragons, so you had no other reason to live.
-They noticed you had grown soft on the elf and even saw some behavior changes when you two were together and since Mablung had feelings for you. They hoped he could be a reason for you to live before it was too late.
-Mablung thinks about it, then decides to go with his feelings because your dwarven family was right.
-One day, you might get yourself killed, then it was all over for the house of Hurin. Morgoth would win.
-When you two settled for the night at the campfire. Mablung mustered courage and finally spoke about his feelings for you.
-The talk is dense because you showed no reaction and told him that he shouldn't.
-There was nothing he would gain by loving you except for the doom that still lingered over your house.
-Love was also just a thing to give false hope. It could be used as a lethal weapon or as a weakness, and there shouldn't be room for such a vulnerability
-Mablung would choose his words carefully and tell you he didn't need to gain anything by loving you he wished to protect you and wanted you to live.
-You would snap at him, telling him that he should let you die if the time comes because you had no other reason to live, so you might as well join your dead family.
-Mablung would grab your hands, look you in the eye and ask you to live for him.
-You would feel conflicted. Even with your closed-off nature, you cared about him a lot. Mablung had been a reliable friend, and you trusted him more than anyone in your life. You even grew to love him more than just a friend.
-But after everything that happened to your family. You tried to push it away because if you did. He might get taken away by the curse, and you couldn't handle the pain.
-That's why you're always afraid to get attached.
-The pain of losing was too great, especially when you lost your family.
-There was also a chance he didn't feel the same, so you didn't pursue it, but now when he asked to be a reason for you to live. Your walls were crumbling down, and you couldn't control your overwhelmed emotions.
-Tears would fall from both of your and Mablung's eyes. Mablung pulls you into his arms and tells you it's okay.
-You tried to control your tears, but it's like you lost all control over your body. All that suppressed emotions came out like a volcano, and you just cried.
-You would grip on to him, holding him tight as if he was going to disappear like every other person in your life.
-It was a face-slapping realization of how actually broken you are.
-You confess your fear and frustration because you loved him too, but you were afraid you would lose him too and get hurt again.
-Mablung would hold you, whispering words of comfort and swearing he will not be taken away by the curse or leave your side.
-You will never let that happen as long there's breath in your body. You will even face Morgoth if it means to keep Mablung safe.
-The night would pass while you two held each other, loved and protected.
-You started taking care of yourself more, which made Mablung glad. You avoided getting yourself injured and became a bit more open with him. When your dwarven family learned about this, they thanked Mablung and welcomed him to the family.
-He would feel embarrassed at first but was happy things were looking better.
-Your new relationship would have grown gently, but the first time you kissed him was sudden and left him flustered.
-You enjoyed forehead kisses and tiny kisses on the cheek, but right before you two separated to start the plan of taking down a giant serpent, you kissed him on the lips and told him to be careful.
-Let's say he never forgot that and becomes a bit more affectionate in the future.
-You didn't change much because you still hated people and were snarky as a wild boar. With him, though, you were soft-spoken and gentle, which made your relationship with each other even more special to him.
-Mablung would finally understand what Luthien and Beleg felt when they fell in love. Loving a mortal wasn't so bad, and he will remain beside you as long as he lived.
so i've now decided to become a Doriath whore, do you have any ideas for Beleg/Mablung? I know Mablung is a difficult character so if he's too much of a challenge u can do some for Beleg :) Love youuuu
⁃ Mablung is a hard ass, there is no if, ands or buts about it
⁃ Because of that I think he's constantly giving off an exasperated air
⁃ He would appreciate a s/o who is understanding because his duties keep him away from the main city a lot of the time
⁃ So I think he'd like someone independent but caring
⁃ That being said, teasing him is sooooo fun
⁃ You can pretty much see his eyebrow twitch from the most basic things
⁃ You and Beleg like to team up against him
⁃ But he does have boundaries, let that be clear
⁃ So that time you and Beleg decided to flirt in front of him? He was not happy and pretty much picked you up, tucked you under his arm and walked away while glaring at a laughing Beleg
⁃ He does, however, love to cuddle when he's home
⁃ He's not a very affectionate person but if he sees you lying down with your arms open, he can't resist just falling into your arms
⁃ Mablung would love to teach you archery because he'd feel a lot better knowing you can defend yourself when he's not there
⁃ Although not touchy-feely, he will always be by your side when he has the time
⁃ A soft forehead kiss from him speaks volumes of his love, in his opinion
⁃ He can't help but melt when you smile gently with your eyes closed when he does it and they are his most precious moments that he likes to recall when he's away from you

He absolutely lives to see you smile, and always strives to see at least see the corners of your mouth twitch
Although he loves seeing you laugh and would do a lot of things to see you happy, one thing he will be very difficult to persuade on is letting you outside of Doriath’s borders
He’s been around for a while now, and has seen his fair share of what horrible things Morgoth is responsible for, directly or indirectly.
He would sever his own arm to protect you because you are one of the few things that can make this dork feel whole, and he can’t imagine a world without you
Alright, enough depro shit, baby boi here loves food
And consequently can whip up some damn fine meals and treats with even the sparsest of supplies
Mablung does not like people interfering with his ‘Art,’ but he most certainly won’t turn away company, as long as company knows to keep their paws away from his cooking…
I see him as someone who has a really soft spot for animals
So it wouldn’t be that uncommon to see him nursing some injured or abandoned animal back to health
Once, before you were courting, you caught him singing soft lullabies in his rumbling voice in front of the hearth, to a tiny little puppy who didn’t look like he was gonna make it.
He looked so vulnerable
He also looked on the verge of crying, with his voice occasionally cracking infinitesimally and a steady build-up of tears in his eyes, but it was clear that his only concern was this pupper in his arms
So you did what you thought he needed the most at that moment: you went and sat down beside him, leant on his shoulder, and joined him in his singing, and your voices mingled perfectly
This was the moment Mablung knew you were the one
This is one of Mablung’s favourite memories of the two of you, and he treasures it more than a dragon treasures gold.
He hates fighting with you, and always tries to get you both to collaborate to a solution as fast as possible
This does not mean he does not get angry, oh no…
He has never lost his temper on you, and he prays he never will, but he once nearly speared a foreign dignitary for making you uncomfortable by flirting with you and not respecting your wishes of wanting him to stop and leave you alone
Mablung believes you are a strong, capable, (and beautiful) person and will not try to coddle you, but when you are clearly in need of help, he sure as hell won’t hesitate (bitch.)
After what happened with Turin and fam, I think he might be more protective of you, but hiding it well with humour.
You are so precious to him, he can’t bear the thought of the same fate befalling you as that of Turin’s fam and Nargothrond’s peeps.
One of his favourite things to do with you is just sitting in the forest on both of your off-days, and listening to nature: the wind in the trees, the chirping and singing of birds, the crunch of leaves underfoot…
Often you two will doze of on your blanket brought from home, lying face to face with his arms slung over you to keep you close, because if he keeps you close, it means he can protect you, which means you won’t die and leave him alone to face the world...
He’s just really such an amazing person, and I love him so fricking much

So he’ll be kind and respectful towards you but watch from afar

If he catches you in a lie just know that whatever trust you built was just shattered by a sonic wave from Black Canary in DC
He will hesitate to trust you again mostly because he feels very betrayed
Major sweet tooth but will die before he admits it

Is the kind of person to glare down at you and say “Behave yourself” with an added term of endearment or not
Is definitely the mom friend, packs for everything and gives it he all
Is a perfectionist and feels terrible when he fails to do something

But after he decides he can’t live without you it doesn’t matter what the others have said

Is a dominant personality but like a gentleman's dominance if that makes sense?
Adores cuddles but craves to have you in his lap while he reads
He loves it both for naughty reasons and innocent reasons

Specificity love it when he can push his face into your thighs and just chill with your fingers running through his hair
Would love to have three children some day adopted or not
Overall I think Mablung is a genuinely cool character

-Mablung is an admirable warrior, he always keeps his promises and believes in values and moral.
-That’s why King Thingol thinks highly of Mablung and even made him commander of Doriath’s army.
-Even so, Mablung seems difficult to approach. He is frequently serious and cold when he interacts with others. Especially when he is on duty.
-However this all changed, when his eyes fell on you for the first time.
-The first time Mablung saw you he felt enchanted. He couldn’t get his eyes off you. He was afraid you thought he was a creep, but your beauty was irresistible to him.
-For Mablung, your beauty surpassed the one of Luthien and you shined brighter than the silmarill in his eyes.
-It was impossible not to notice Mablung’s gaze from afar. Mablung was always wore a neutral face, but this time, he couldn’t hide his feelings.
-He blushed when your eyes met his or he quickly turned his face away “making sure” there was no danger around. But he fooled none.
-Mablung had to use his influence in the city to discover your name and the place where you worked.
-It was easy for you to notice the famed warrior. Especially such a handsome warrior.
-You started encountering with him more regularly around the halls of Menergoth. This was never a bother, it could be considered as luck even.
-The kingsguard started patrolling the areas that you frequented. It was surely not a thing of fate. And Mablung was always with the guards that crossed your path.
-Beleg and the other soldiers didn’t took long to notice his strange behavior. The focused and serious Mablung was now inattentive and distant.
-Mablung started smiling without any clear reason. Daydreamed when watching the passing clouds or the moon. And drifted away in his own thoughts. Only the Valar know what was on his mind.
-Beleg started to think he was falling ill. There was no other logical explanation for Mablung’s rare behaivor. Or maybe he needed some urgent vacations.
-Even so, Mablung ached for meeting you, but he did not dare to say a single phrase to you. When a word was just about to leave his mouth a lump formed on his throat not permiting him to speak.
-Mablung had two weaknesses, you and a very much deserved drink after spending a great amount of time away home.
-Mablung had more than one drink this time and Beleg took advantage of the situation in order to discover what was wrong with Mablung.
-Mablung confessed his feelings towards you to Beleg, and maybe many unnecessary details too.
-Mablung admited his great agony was due to his cowardness. He was too scared to ask you out, afraid you’d reject him and break his heart. That’s why everytime he came up to you he ended up looking like a fool when he tried to speak.
-The next day Mablung regretted telling Beleg about his feelings when he was drunk during the night on the tavern.
-Not because he didn’t wanted his friend to know about his feelings for you. But because Beleg will tease him for the rest of his days.
-Since that day, Beleg wouldn't stop pestering Mablung. During training, patrolling, even in front of King Thingol.
-“Why did you let me win this time? Have (y/n) made your heart soften?”
-“Smiling alone again? Thinking about (y/n)?”
-”Why are you suddenly out of words? Is (y/n) around?”
-But Mablung would take advantage of the situation as he always do.
-On the past he didn’t had anyone to talk about his feelings for you. King Thingol would have found it strange and there was no one he trusted as much as Beleg.
-Beleg became Mablung's confidant (a decision Beleg didn’t made). This was something the elf would regret later.
-At every given opportunity, Mablung would start speaking about you to Beleg. At first it was fine, but Beleg was getting tired of listening of the same topic.
-Soon enough, Beleg was exhausted of Mablung’s monologues about your perfect smile and beautiful eyes.
-So one day, Beleg couldn’t resist anymore of the daily monologue and in an attempt to shut Mablung’s mouth he came up to you and casually mentioned Mablung’s enormous crush on you.
-Mablung would have choked Beleg right there if it hadn’t been for your sweet giggle and your curious look.
-Mablung acted awkward at first, but when he saw you had no intention to reject him he started to loosen up.
-Beleg was extremely proud of his matchmaker skills. He made sure to remind Mablung of it once in a while.
-With time, your friendship with Mablung bloomed to be a great love that no war in the world would be able to break nor any age able to fade. You were his and he was yours.
