Cosmos x Reader
• Spark nervously thrumming, he looks around and tries to not get overwhelmed. Just so used to being alone all the time. Resigned to it. And now there are people everywhere. Other Cybertronians and these fragile looking, tiny organic aliens. Servos flexing, he watches a group of them hurrying by close to a wall and one smiles up at him, waving. Hand hesitantly lifting, he waves back feeling more lost than ever. Spends so much time by himself, that he’s not sure that he knows how to socialize anymore.
• Trying to not gawk at the wave of new arrivals, you wonder why they just keep showing up. If the aliens already on earth are phoning home to tell their buddies how awesome Earth is. Had taken the job because you were curious about the Cybertronians, but you can’t help but also be nervous about them. They’re too big, too strange, and it makes you jittery. It has to be awkward washing these guys. Not just for the caretakers but for them. Has to be. They’ve got an alien crawling all over them trying to get into nooks and crannies and you’ve got the uncomfortable experience of giving a stranger a sponge bath. So what’s the appeal here?
• Anxiety climbing, he tries to watch where he’s walking, because these little humans have no fear. Just darting across the base streets in front of mechs like it’s never occurred to them that they might accidentally get stepped on. Clutching his hands together to try and self soothe, he rumbles. Had been excited about not being so isolated. Had been looking forward to it, but now he’s just nervous. What if he was stationed in space alone because he’s annoying and no one wanted to be around him? What if he doesn’t know what to say? What if he can’t stop talking?
• Glancing at your dossier on your phone, you study your assigned mech. Can’t really tell much with the visor and mask. All it says is his name and faction, so it’s not particularly helpful. Yours at least doesn’t come with a list of warnings, though. One of the caretakers who’d gone through training with you had shown you theirs and it was nothing but warnings. Skin prickling as your neck cranes, you scan alien faces and try not to meet their optics because apparently some of them get confused. And grabby.
• “Cosmos?” Turning and looking down, one of the natives is smiling up at him. “You’re Cosmos, right? I’m here to take care of you,” You’re saying as he clutches his hands together to resist the urge to reach for you. What’s he supposed to say? Should say something. You’ve chosen him. Want to court him as a potential conjunx if the rumors are true. If he says the wrong thing, you might walk away. Say something. Anything. ‘Did you know that space is completely silent? That you can just scream and scream and no one would hear?’ He blurts and your smile goes funny. “What?” You ask. ‘What?’ He echoes weakly, embarrassed.

Actually the funniest thing about the weird mildly-military culture of the SGC is it only took them like six months to develop stargate-based funerary practices. Carefully passing a flower wreath through the event horizon, presumably to just fall on the ground on the other side. Pall bearer procession starting offworld taking the casket through the gate, don’t worry about how many tight corners and elevators we’re gonna have to take afterward to get the thing up to ground level. Hi everyone, let’s all appropriate the most secure room in the most secure military installation in the world to give speeches about our dead friend. Yes, the speaker and podium will be directly in the vaporization zone if the gate activates.
the fifth race is truly the thesis of stargate. every other alien race is saying bruh you guys are babies u cannot be exploring space like this. and jack o'neill is like well we are doing this anyways !!!
and that's literally stargate. that's the point of the whole show. humans are so curious and hungry to learn and grow and find new things and the beauty of stargate is showing humans Doing Space Travel in present day. star wars is past, star trek is future but stargate is right now and thats The Thesis.

the crazy thing about this is that it took one single word to turn it horny. coulda been a normal cute post. coulda taken the high road & conjured a delightful image of a mouse scampering down the bar with a beer ten times its size balanced on its head. but you had to say "mousegirl" and not "mouse." don't pretend this isn't what's going on either i know the score i know what's up. i'm familiar with this sort of semantic trick. you want to fuck down on an anime girl with certain characteristics of a rodent and everyone's gotta know.
