I'm really concerned about brains because the deer i found still has them! i'm wondering if they'll come out while macerating (which btw this is my first time ever macerating so if you have any tips, i'd appreciate them) or i'm wondering if i'm going to have to.............. do something about them.... because i don't think i have the guts to deal w brains
Does anybody have tips on macerating small game or birds?
It’s almost time for those sweet strawberries to start hitting the produce department at your local grocery store!!! 🍓💗🍓💗🍓💗🍓 Sometimes, in my haste to taste, I don’t sniff the strawberries before I buy them... and I end up coming home with some less that succulently sweet strawberries! Yes! Ok... I’m a strawberry sniffer... but this doesn’t make me weird... it makes me a savvy shopper! 🍓👃🔍🙋🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️ Did you know you can tell if strawberries are at their sweetest, by simply taking a whiff of the package? If you smell that super strawberry smell that almost smells fake, you know those are some great strawberries! @driscollsberry are usually quite good! If however, you only smell the faintest hint of scent, they will likely be on the sour side. 😩😣☹️ But fear not! 🤗 I’m here to tell you about macerating... I grew up watching @mamava42 do this from time to time and just assumed everyone knew about it! Maceration is the process of “pouring some sugar on it” (love me some Def Leopard reference!) to get the natural juices and flavors flowing from a package of less than satisfactory strawberries or any berry or tart fruit for that matter. 💦 🔪 🍓🥃🥂🥄 Simply wash & cut up your strawberries, sprinkle with a teaspoon or two of sugar and a pinch of salt (it really enhances the flavor of sweet things, I used my KBJ Vanilla Salt!) and if you are feeling fancy, add a tablespoon or two of a liqueur like Grand Marnier or even a kick A wine (think crisp & fruity white wine)! Let it sit at room temperature or in the fridge for 15-20 minutes and you’ve got yourself some deliciously sweet fruit with a sauce that is divine over ice cream, yogurt, pound cake, or just as with a dollop of whipped cream! I’ve even been know to use jam instead of sugar and it makes a thicker sauce! 🍓🍧🍰🍦🥂 😍🤩🤯👏🏻 So here’s hoping your #humpday is sweet and give macerating a try! #wereheretolearn . . . . . #kellebjammin #kellebjam #macerating #macerated #wednesday #strawberries #tart #sweet #themoreyouknow #poursomesugaronme #maceration #grandmarnier #fruit #letitsit #diydesert #kelleb #driscolls #springberries (at Lubbock, Texas) https://www.instagram.com/p/BwE0atFA5WH/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=in6det7wousc
