Oh fuck yeah time to do a short-ish analysis/thoughts on this part right here. Yes - Chat Noir destroying a chimney. The most important 14 seconds EVER.
Watch the video so you can understand what I’m saying.
Let’s start here, it’s obvious. A plan for two people. Rena plus Ladybug plus Chat Noir does not equal two people. He knows this. And he knows he’s not part of the plan. He lacks context and is told to just wait for further instruction by someone he barely knows.
He doesn’t know Rena Rogue very well, but he knows Ladybug trusts her. And at first it wasn’t something Chat Noir was ever worried about. Because if his lady trusts them, so should he. Plus, Rena wasn’t someone who he felt threatened by. Until recently..
Adrien already believes he’s someone who is replaceable (no matter how many times Ladybug tells him otherwise).
And he’s given up the miraculous for that very reason. Because he felt as if he wasn’t enough. Because he felt like somebody else could do it better.
But regardless of all that, Adrien loves being Chat Noir, he loves being Ladybug’s partner. Because even after it all
Ladybug still kept him in the loop. She told him as much of the truth as she could. He felt assured enough that she trusted him as much as he trusted her.
Until she started keeping him out of the loop. Until she started hiding more and more things from him, causing a strain on their relationship. That’s been pretty noticeable this season. And then what? Another hero starts swooping in? Okay no big deal. Then The hero, who’s not been around that long, starts knowing more than you do? Okay… it’s a little worrisome. How about the Ladybug and this hero successfully purifying an Akuma without your help? Well shit am I really needed?
Now suddenly you’re being left out of plans and are told, not by ladybug, but by this hero you know NOTHING about?
ID BE A LITTLE FRUSTRATED TOO.
Because who is this hero I know nothing about to tell me that I just have to stay put and give no explanation as to why?
He’s angry, he’s upset, not because of the new hero. Because he doesn’t know what’s going on. He doesn’t have any way to convey is frustration. He doesn’t have an Alya like Marinette or a father who’s (totally not trying to kill him five minutes afterwards) not any sort of support.
But the way he reacts, the way he chose his words. Something about it made it, familiar. Because if you switch the image and keep the text. It’s very..chat blanc of him to say . Just to keep it in mind.
A reaction was expected. But this? Was not. Lashing out is not something he normally does. Destroying things is not something he would do. This is suppose to invoke a reaction from the audience.
Chat Noir breaking a chimney because he’s angry and frustrated is supposed to make you worried. It’s suppose make you feel sorry for him.
Look at his face. He doesn’t look like he feels as guilty about it as he should or normally would. At least from my perspective, he didn’t look like felt guilt at ALL.
Not to mention the dramatic/classic I just did villainous thing music in the background. That was there for a reason!! He looked more annoyed at the fact there was a mess than anything else. I feel like, this won’t be the last time he acts out like this.
He crosses his arms and turns away from what he just did. Maybe one could say this is the guilt. He’s obviously still really upset. But it’s not his action that raises concern. It’s what he says.
GO AHEAD. AFTER THIS YOU CAN TELL ME THAT IM THINKING TOO MUCH INTO IT.
So, you might be thinking? Well this is common knowledge, we the audience knows the miraculous fixes everything.
Well yes, everyone knows this. But it’s the fact Chat Noir knows this and doesn’t care. Because it’s going to be fixed. So why dwell on it? Who cares right?
It’s not like anything he’ll do is permanent because the miraculous ladybug will fix it anyways
He didn’t say Ladybug. Didn’t say his lady, he said the miraculous ladybug.
Because this is exactly what drove Chat Blanc during the Chat Blanc episode.
His need, his want for the ladybug miraculous because he knew it’d fix everything. He knew it could grant him the wish he wants.
And this is all he wants. He wants his Lady to love him. He wants to fix everything and he doesn’t want anything to change between them. He wants to go back to the time where it was just them.
Oh? Well shit doesn’t that sound familiar. And what a coincidence that Chat Blanc reappears in this same episode?
Anyways Shit is gonna hit the fan and I don’t think any of us are ready for it. Could’ve looked too deep into it. Could’ve missed a couple things. But I don’t think this scene was suppose to go unnoticed.
