Takes place before the movie. The reader’s age ranges from 0-5. I guess let me know if I should make a second part.
Parts: 1 2 3 4
You’re Bruno’s child. Your mother died not long after you were born, as she became ill with something even you tía Julieta couldn’t remedy.
He disappeared the night you’re prima Mirabel didn’t get your gift. You were only a few months old at the time.
He hated having to leave, but considering his reputation and the death of your mother, he figured you’d have a better chance if he left. That’s not mentioning his final vision, the destruction of Casa Madrigal, he desperately hoped for your sake and Mira's leaving would mean his vision would never come to pass.
You were raised by your tía Julieta and tío Augustín. They treated you as one of their own though made sure you understood they were your aunt and uncle and not your actual parents. A distinction Julieta deemed important, in memory of your parents.
The girls; Isabela, Luisa, and Mirabel adored you. Fully accepting and titling you their fourth sister.
When you were an infant and got fussy from bad dreams, Mirabel would climb into your bed to snuggle with you until you settled. When you were first learning to walk and fell bursting into tears, Luisa carried you everywhere for a week refusing to let you down. People would say Isa’s flowers were more vibrant when you were talking, walking at her side.
Isa might have been Encanto’s Senorita Perfecta, but you were Encanto’s darling.
Bruno had to watch you grow from the cracks in the wall. Your first steps, your first words, unbeknownst to you and the family. He watched it all with silent tears.
Before you came of age, he would tiptoe into your nursery at night, careful not to wake you or Mirabel. He’d talk sometimes, but usually he’d tuck a gift beneath your pillow and weep at how big you were getting. The gifts were always small trinkets; bracelets, coins, hair clips, notes of praise. Which you would graciously and excitedly share with your primos.
Despite being young, when you were little, you picked up on the town’s tenderness with you. A tenderness that seemed to stem from a place of pity.
Thanks to Julieta and Augustín, you at least grew up knowing you were Bruno’s child. But anytime you asked about him, most always the answer was “we don’t talk about Bruno.” Tío Félix would sometimes let information slip.
You tried once to peek into your Papa’s room. All you saw was sand falling like a waterfall behind an hourglass arch. Before you could continue sleuthing, Abuela caught you. She had Casita board the door over. You cried yourself to sleep that day and didn’t speak to anyone the rest of the week.
Encanto’s darling, but always on thin ice with Abuela. You weren’t sure why. No matter what you did, she seemed to shun you. When you spoke to her in an attempt to tell her about all the good you did that day, she’d pat your head and dismissively respond, “that’s nice dear.”
Then came your fifth birthday, the day you’d finally receive your gift. While you were nervous, I mean, what if, like Mirabel, you didn’t receive a gift? You were also excited. If you did receive a gift, maybe then you’d be accepted by Abuela.
The whole of Encanto showed up for your ceremony. Eager to see if another Madrigal would go without a gift or even worse, your gift turned out similar to your Pa’s.
When you grasped your door knob and illuminated, glittering like golden, the tension in the room seemed double.
“What’s their gift?” You could hear your primo Camilo loudly whisper from below.
You had the same question.
Then Abuela placed a hand on your shoulder. From your perspective, the world blurs around. You weren’t moving, but everything around you was. It was a blur of movement as everything around you spun backwards.
In an instant, you were in front of a blank wall. You hit it, it felt solid. Looking around as far as you could tell you were still in Casita, it was just smaller. You almost jumped out of your skin when three children appeared from around the corner. They didn’t even seem to notice you, as they walked in a neat line past you down the corridor. Similarly to you, they wore white and gold.
You followed behind the last child, a boy, until he had to break off from the two, rounding a corner up a small flight of stairs. The two girls stood beside a woman, her hair set apart in two neat braids. With a warm smile, she watched the two girls. As she turned, coming into better view, your small eyes grew to the size of saucers. She held the candle. Your familia’s candle.
As the girls reached for their doors, you rushed behind them. Your shock and worry only grew as their doors took shape before your eyes. These were the doors of your tías. You saw the similarities now. These two girls, the same age as you, were your tías. This was the day they got their gift. You’d traveled back in time.
That meant the boy was or would be your papa. This was your chance to see him, albeit a younger version of him. You tried to run back to the steps where he’d disappeared, but an invisible wall prevented you from leaving the hall. You pound your fists against nothing trying to break the invisible barrier, but the world begins to blur once more. Everything around you sped forward.
In an instant you were back, in front of your door, Abuela’s hand on your shoulder, tears pricking the corner of your eyes. It seemed no time had passed at all.
Mirabel was the first to speak. “¿Are you okay, ratoncito?“
You had but one response, “I think I can see the past.”
A/N: I cried when writing this, thats how you know its good
Based on the song “It's Quiet Uptown”. Reader was a friend of the madrigals

“There are moments that the words don't reach
There is suffering too terrible to name
You hold your child as tight as you can
And push away the unimaginable
The moments when you're in so deep
It feels easier to just swim down
The [Madrigals] move uptown
And learn to live with the unimaginable”
After your passing, and subsequent funeral, the village of Encanto felt less vibrant than before. Your death was seemingly inevitable,You drowned. Dolores heard your cries, and even though the family rushed to your aide, they were all too late. Even though they tried Julieta’s cooking couldn't save you, they were only a moment too late. The burden of guilt weighed heavy on the shoulders of Dolores and Julieta. Maybe if Dolores tuned into your thrashing a few moments earlier, or maybe if Julieta was the first there, maybe you would still be walking amongst them. You could have maybe even been able to see your daughter grow.
You were buried in the Village’s graveyard, with all the other dead. And the madrigals visited very often. Isabella would sit with your grave, leaving small plants and flowers. Luisa would come by as the stars started to shine, and she would talk to you, about her day and everything going on. Mirabel would bring your daughter and would tell her stories from your past, stories you told her. Julieta would steal away in the early hours of the morning to set a small plate of food atop your gravestone. Pepa and Felix would visit every Sunday with Dolores, a visit that always had to be cut short. Antonio had left his tiger stuffed animal, he had said you needed it more.Bruno tried his hardest to keep the family going for you, its what you would have wanted . Camilo rarely visited your actual grave, as it brought up to many emotions for him to handle, instead he would tell the towns children the stories you would tel them from your travels. And Alma, the woman who helped your family all those years ago, felt like she lost a part of herself all over again. The family took your daughter in after your passing, she was only two years old. They cared for the little girl like she was their own flesh and blood. Your little girl was all they had left of you, after all.
“Tía?” the little girl asked, her voice soft “Where mamá?”. Her soft {colour} eyes trained on Pepa. A soft, grey storm cloud formed above pepa’s head as she knealed, getting on the level of the little girl. “Your mamá is with your papá, princesa” she explained, smoothing the little girls hair back with a single hand. “When will they come back?” the child inquired. The storm grew a bit stronger, Felix layed a hand on his wifes shoulder to comfort her. “I don't know, princesa, i dont know”
“There are moments that the words don't reach
There's a grace too powerful to name
We push away what we can never understand
We push away the unimaginable”
It had been three years after your untimely end, and your baby grew. She resembled you so much. It was a miracle all on its own when she was gifted a power of her own, something the madrigals didn't expect at all. She was gifted the ability to see the dead. The little girl brushed past a doorway, only to catch a glimpse of your tired expression, your frame clinging onto that of your husbands. You mouthed a few words to the little girl before your forms disappeared.
Power Description: Can mimic any voice, even nonhuman ones. I imagine them singing Harder Better Faster Stronger in that robotic voice and everyone going insane. This includes voice techniques like throwing their voice and overtone singing.
If you’re a sibling, you’re probably from Pepa’s side of the family
Especially because Dolores and Camilo would LOVE you
When she can’t sleep or is too overwhelmed Dolores asks you to sing for her
So, in a low bass voice, you sing her a lullaby
Puts her to sleep like nothing else
And you and Camilo are always causing mischief
With his ability to shapeshift and your ability to mimic any voice you’re the terror (and talk) of the town
That being said, everybody loves you
Sure, the whole “can mimic anybody” voice thing is a little unsettling
You’ve been compared to a siren or a cryptid that lures people away through mimicking someone’s voice multiple times
And let’s be honest, you kinda deserve that reputation
But your singing is something else
If there were Guinness World Records in Encanto, you’d break all the voice ones
You’ve hit the lowest note, the highest note, you can even mimic robotic voices
You’re always striving to see what you can do next
This sounds like such a fun gift honestly
I imagine you’d constantly be making musical and song references
Like you’re looking for Pepa in the Casita and suddenly ever hears Freddy Mercury’s voice going “MAMAAAAAAA”
You’d totally use this gift to their advantage
God tier humor
And also use it to scare people
Or mock them if they’re making fun of Bruno or Mirabel
Show now mercy
But overall, everybody loves you and your singing is amazing
Plot : When you were adopted into the Madrigal family, you were beyond lucky. You had a place to call home, you had a place to belong. You received a gift at age five, just like every other Madrigal kid, however, it feels more like a curse. And when the casita falls, your own feelings surprise even you.
Pronouns used : she/her for reader, all other respectable pronouns for Madrigals.
Note : I am not a Spanish native and I don’t know any Spanish, all Spanish nicknames mentioned in this story are translated from google. If anything is wrong PLEASE let me know and I will correct it.
Info : Think this’ll be around 3-4 parts but if you know my track record with series then you’ll know not to quote me on that.
It didn’t take long for you to begin hating your gift. Not just around the town, but also at home. And now? Now you didn’t have your papá to let you know that he understood or to tell you that everything was going to be okay. No, he left. He left so many years ago now.
You were now fifteen. Mirabel, Camilo and Carlos were all thirteen, they were in their rebellious teen phases but none of them really knew what you were going through. Luisa was seventeen and constantly throwing herself into work just to prove to Abuela that she was good enough. Antonio was three and was always babbling to you about something, that’s where your gift came in handy, you could let Pepa know what the baby was trying to say before he could form proper sentences- you’d done the same with Mira, Cami and Carlos when they were toddlers. Pepa and Julieta had no bad feelings or thoughts towards you, whenever you heard their thoughts they were usually worrying about you; you would always hear ‘I hope (name)’s okay’ and ‘she never leaves her room anymore, I wonder how she is’. It was sweet. Dolores and Isabela were both nineteen, Isabela tried to help you as much as she could but admittedly, that wasn’t all that much considering she had to keep up her señorita perfecta act… Dolores was the only person left there to understand you, given that your gifts were both eerily similar. She knew exactly how you felt and she would always come into your room and try to have talks with you; she was your favourite person in the whole family since Bruno had left.
And abuela? She grew to hate you. It didn’t take long, especially after Bruno left. You were forbidden from talking about your father, you were forbidden from even so much as mentioning his name. It frustrated you. Her thoughts about you were the worst. They were so much worse than those of the villagers, their thoughts were just that you were weird and they didn’t wanna be around you, but your Abuela? It was your Abuela’s thoughts that sent you in a downward spiral of anxiety and panic attacks and everything else. Whenever you came out of your room, her thoughts were the loudest, they were the first ones that would come to you; ‘(Name) is useless.’ ‘I hope (name) doesn’t ruin the dinner with the Gonzalez family tonight!’ ‘(Name) is too emotional, even worse than Pepa.’ ‘(Name) doesn’t care about this family, she’s just like Bruno.’
She made you want to scream. The thoughts you heard sometimes became too much and it burned you out and made your panic attacks more frequent, you didn’t really have anything to ground you or to bring you back to reality. The thoughts you heard made you become very emotional and upset and made you want to scream so much that you often had a panic attack around the table due to the emotions that you felt.
You were currently sat in your bedroom, sitting at your desk, your head was resting against your hand as you absentmindedly drew on a piece of paper that sat on your desk. ‘I love you, mija.’ You suddenly heard. You shook it off, continuing to draw.
You’d been hearing Bruno’s thoughts for years, even when you were in your bedroom which didn’t make sense considering your gift didn’t work in your room unless the person thinking it was in your room at the time. You figured that your mind had made it up due to you missing him so much, he was the one person that kept you grounded during your panic attacks, he always knew how to get you out of them.
You had your first panic attack six months after your fifth birthday, Bruno found you struggling for breath and clutching your chest with tears down your eyes, it scared the life out of you.
Bruno immediately recognised that it was a panic attack, him being a sufferer of them himself. He immediately dropped to his knees in front of you, cupping your cheeks and making you focus on him. “Mija, mija, listen to me.” He told you. You stared him, your eyes searching his face frantically as he stared at you. “I need you to focus on my voice, okay. Just focus on me! Don’t focus on your surroundings, don’t focus on anything else. Focus on me okay, focus on me!” He spoke frantically as you nodded in understanding. “Okay, I need you to use your senses okay. This’ll help ground you, cariño. Use your eyes, focus on something and tell me the colour, tell me if it’s bright or dull, give me details about it.” He told you.
Your eyes found his ruana, “I-it’s green a-and has hourglasses on it. It’s d-dull and dirty.” You spoke.
An offended expression crossed his face but he shrugged it off, “Okay, now touch. What does it feel like? Is it soft or rough? Is it heavy or light? What does the fabric feel like?” He asked you.
You reached out, clutching the ruana in your fists as you kept your focus on it, “It’s soft a-and it’s light, really light and thin.” You let him know.
“Okay, now what do you hear? Focus on your hearing, what do you hear, niña?” He asked you, stroking his thumb down your cheek as he cupped your face.
“I-I hear Carlos and Camilo fighting. I can hear rain hitting the window. I-I can hear Isabela and Abuela talking.” You told him.
You breathing was starting to slow down as Bruno moved on to the final sense, “Well done, mija, now smell. Tell me what you can smell.” He told you.
“I can smell tia Julieta cooking arepas and… And I can smell the lavender scent from my clothes. And I can smell… I can smell the roses that Isabela grew for me yesterday.” You told him, you breathing finally going back to normal as he pulled you into him fully.
You wrapped your arms around his neck and rested your head against his shoulder, he combed his long fingers through your hair, “Well done, mija.” He let out a sigh of relief as he held you tightly. He could feel your tears hitting his neck as the tears from before continued sliding down your face.
That was the scariest moment of both yours and Bruno’s lives. Your first panic attack. And they’ve only become more regular but you had continued to use his trick and use your senses to ground yourself.
You heard a knock at your bedroom door before glancing over your shoulder, your door was pushed open and Dolores walked in, “Hola (name). Abuela says that dinner is ready.” She let you know.
You nodded, standing up and smoothing out the green dress you were wearing; it matched the colour of your fathers ruana. You headed out of your bedroom and began walking downstairs, closing your eyes; trying to block out the thoughts that were coming from Abuela.
Why did hers always seem to be the loudest? Was it because hers were the worst thoughts? Was it because she hated you the most?
‘I’m proud of you, mija.’ There it was again. Your papás thoughts.
You didn’t care that this was just in your mind. You didn’t care that these weren’t his real thoughts, he was long gone. You had to have made him up in your mind due to missing him so much but even if this was just all in your head, it still brought a smile to your face, knowing that your father was still with you, even if it was only in your thoughts.
You walked into the dining room, taking a deep breath as you took your place beside Dolores. Abuela’s eyes glossed over you but she didn’t say anything, she didn’t need to. Her thoughts said it all. ‘Oh great, she’s out of her room. She better not ruin this dinner like she does with every other one.’ Your eyes focused on your plate, relaying all of the colours and the patterns on it. Your hands gripped the table, telling yourself that it was hard and that the wood was smooth and freshly polished. You then focused on your hearing, immediately hearing the clanking of cutlery against plates. You then focused on your smell, instantly smelling the meal that Juli had made; avocados, rice and a smell of arepas in the distance. You took a deep breath, calming down from the panic attack that you knew was oncoming previously.
Dolores placed her hand on top of yours and gave it a tight squeeze. You sent her an appreciative smile before filling your plate, trying to drown out Abuela’s thoughts. ‘Can’t she just leave mi hija alone!’ You heard your father again, a soft smile graced your features as you began eating.
You were about to retreat back to your room once dinner was over but you were stopped by the twins, “(Name), come and hang outside with us! It’s better than staying in your bedroom all the time!” Camilo grinned at you as Mirabel quickly stood beside you, linking her arm with yours.
“I… I don’t know.” You began.
“Come on, prima. Chico de oro is right, you can’t stay cooped up in your bedroom all the time.” Carlos told you.
You stared between the three of them, a soft sigh left your lips as you nodded in defeat; seeing the pleading eyes of the younger teens. “Fine!” You groaned, letting your cousins drag you out of the house.
They dragged you to the town centre where you noticed a hopscotch path on the floor, you frowned before turning to your cousins, “You brought me out here to play hopscotch?” You laughed, cocking a brow.
“No, we brought you out here to get you away from that puta-” Carlos began.
“Carlos!” Camilo warned, glaring at him.
Carlos held his hands up in surrender, “Sorry, I mean Abuela.” He cocked a brow.
“You know how Carlos feels about Abuela, I mean he did try to blow the candle out for not giving me a gift.” Mirabel chuckled.
You nodded, “I know. Abuela was so angry that Dolores had to cover her ears when she was yelling at him.” You laughed.
Carlos laughed along with you, nodding his head. “You know, (name). That’s the first time we’ve seen you happy in a while.” Camilo told you as the three of you started playing the hopscotch that the kids had drawn.
You stopped when you heard Abuela’s thoughts again, ‘she’s so useless. Why can’t she control herself!’ You closed your eyes, taking a deep breath, almost falling over as you took another hop.
The younger teens quickly caught you, stopping your from colliding with the pavement. “Are you okay, prima?!” Mirabel asked worriedly.
“Y-yeah. I’m okay.” You nodded, sighing slightly as you smiled at your cousins reassuringly.
“It’s Abuela again, isn’t it?” Carlos asked.
You shrugged, “It’s nothing.” You told him, heading back to the start of the hopscotch path, continuing the game you were playing.
You would never be good enough for her. Ever. You just knew it.
Your sixteenth birthday would be coming around soon and not one single person was excited about it, not one single person had mentioned it.
It was just days away and nobody seemed bothered by it.
You were sitting in your bedroom once again, head resting against the palm of your hand as you stared down at the sketchbook and noticed that you weren’t drawing on your paper. No, you were drawing on a photograph of the family. You laughed when you noticed, that’s what you did, you laughed. It was the happiest laugh you’d done in a long while, you’d inadvertently drawn a moustache and glasses on the photograph, on Abuela’s face to be precise. You placed your hand over your mouth, letting the giggle die down as you tried your best not to disturb anybody. Your door opened and someone peeked their head around the side, “What’s got you giggling so much?” Dolores asked.
“Oh, nothing. I… I kinda drew a moustache on Abuela.” You laughed, lifting up the photograph to show her.
Dolores’ hands rose to cover her mouth and hide the giggle that came from her lips.
Once she’d calmed down, she opened her mouth to speak again, “Mami asked me to come and get you, anyway.” She grinned at you, holding her hand out. You grabbed her hand, letting her drag you downstairs and into the living room. All of the furniture had been pushed aside and a huge party was taking place, the whole town was there.
“What’s all this?” You asked, your eyes staring around in wonder.
Julieta was by your side in an instant, “It’s your party, of course!” She let you know.
“M-my party?” You stuttered.
“You didn’t think we’d forgotten, did you?” Pepa appeared at your other side, linking her arms with yours.
“N-no. I… I just figured that I wasn’t important enough…” You mumbled.
Your aunts eyes both widened, glancing down at you, “Cariño, you are just as important as any of the other kids.” Julieta let you know.
You smiled, hugging your aunts close as a few tears slipped down your cheeks.
The music played and the party was in full swing as they led you over to the dance floor. The pair of them danced with you as you heard your father yet again, ‘Happy birthday, mija.’ you heard him say.
You smiled as you danced with your aunts, glancing around the room and quickly noticing that you couldn’t see Abuela anywhere. Of course she wouldn’t be here. It was all too good to be true.
You soon separated from your tias and headed towards the punch bowl, grabbing a cup of the fruit punch and drinking it down. “Happy birthday, cariño.” Somebody said from behind you.
You glanced over your shoulder to see Abuela, you turned to face her and smiled her way, “Thanks Abuela.” You nodded, placing the plastic cup on the counter and crossing your arms over your chest slightly. “Did, um, did you plan all of this?” You asked, glancing around the room.
Abuela froze slightly, “U-uhm, no. Not exactly. Carlos suggested it and he and your other cousins helped to plan it.” She let you know.
You nodded, raising your brows slightly, that figures. “That was nice of them.” You grinned.
“Yeah, it was.” She glanced down at the floor.
‘Which got me thinking, what’s so special about you? You’re just a problem child.’ You heard. You were staring at her the whole time, her mouth didn’t move, it was a thought.
“You never hide it, do you?” You snapped, causing her to lift her head.
“What do you mean, cariño?” She asked, confusion taking over her features.
‘Oh, god, here we go again. Here comes the next breakdown.’ You heard her thoughts again.
A few stray tears fell freely down your face as you pushed past the elder and ran. You finally ran. You ran out of casita, you ran away from the party. You didn’t even know where you were going, you just wanted to get far enough away so that you wouldn’t hear her thoughts anymore.
Dolores placed her head in her hands and sighed, her prima and younger brothers all stared at her, “Dolores, what’s wrong?” Carlos asked.
“I don’t know exactly but I’m guessing it was Abuela’s bad thoughts again. (Name) snapped at her and then ran away crying.” She whispered.
“She’s still have bad thoughts about (name) even though it’s her birthday?” Mirabel asked, sighing deeply.
“Woah! Carlos wait!” Camilo suddenly called out, getting the attention of the two girls.
The three of them sprinted after an angry Carlos, knowing just what he was capable of when someone messed with a family member he was close to.
“WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU, ALMA!” Carlos snapped, stopping in front of the elder.
“Watch your tone, Carlos.” Alma said, authoritatively.
“(NAME) HAS RAN AWAY BECAUSE OF YOU! IS THIS WHAT YOU DO NOW, ALMA?! FIRST YOU PUSH TIO BRUNO SO FAR AWAY THAT HE LEFT AND NOW YOU’RE FUCKING PUSHING (NAME) AWAY WITH YOUR HORRIBLE FUCKING THOUGHTS ABOUT HER!” He snapped at her.
“Carlos, watch your tone with your Abuela.” Pepa said from behind the children.
Carlos shook his head, glancing over his shoulder to see his mamá and papá along with his tia and tio, “She made (name) run away, on her damn birthday as well!” Carlos snapped, he was pissed off.
Félix quickly took note of his sons clenched fists before leaning forward, placing his hand on the teenagers shoulder, “Then let’s go and find her, mijo.” He said, gesturing for his son to follow him out of casita.
Carlos gave Alma a dirty look before following his father out of the house, “She could be anywhere, papá. You know she’s always been good at track in school.” He sighed.
“Hey, I know she and Mirabel are your favourite primas but you can’t attack your Abuela like that, Carlos.” His father told him.
“If only you all knew the truth.” Carlos muttered quietly, luckily his father hadn’t heard him.
Carlos shoved his hands in his pockets as he and his father began the search for you, calling out your name as they searched.
Every time they got closer to finding you, you would continue running. You soon found yourself in a clearing deep within the forest, quickly climbing a tree and sitting on an extremely thick branch.
You rested your head against the trunk of the tree as your legs dangled over either side of the branch and you tilted your head back slightly, staring up at the sky and letting your tears fall freely.
You had to leave. You had to stay away. You didn’t belong there. Not anymore.
~ Hai! So, here’s part two! In the next part I think will be leading up to the fall of casita, I think I’ll definitely be ending this at part four though, with the reunion and Abuela finally apologising for being a biiiii- Lemme know what y’all think, angels! 😘 Stay hydrated, make sure you’ve eaten today, remember you’re loved more than you’ll ever know and stay safe, lovelies! Mwah! 💖
Heyo can i request a yandere!madrigal family x sleepy!reader? (platonic on Antonio's part because he's a child)
(So sorry for taking a while to write this)
Please (kinda Yandere! madrigal family x sleepy! Reader)
(sorry this isn't really yandere at all)
You yawned, watching the movie. Leaning on Camilo's shoulder as your eyes threatened to shut, "you sure you don't want to go to sleep amor?" Camilo asked. "Na I'm good," You replied.
"You completely super dooper sure?" Mirabel suddenly chimed in, "Yes" "okay, just being completely sure." It had been a good movie night, maybe not when Pepa cried a little because of the romance scene. (Sorry lol, had to add it) She did almost get everyone wet, but Felix quickly solved the issue.
The movie had now ended and you were now just a sleepy mess, you nearly fell over a couple of times because you almost fell asleep. (haha, get it right? Yea it's not funny I know.)
Then you did actually fall, but Isabela's vines luckily caught you. Felix scooped you into his arms, bringing you to your room carefully. They watched you as you slept, some cooed, but the rest of the night, you were sound asleep.
A shy reader who is expected to be perfect, almost like Isabela.
This is a series!
part one|
Summary:Your family isn’t new to Encanto,in fact, your family were friends with everyone in town and The Madrigals. You,however, because you weren’t really that social, haven’t got to know them yet(except for Mirabel).Or one specific Madrigal, either.
This takes place after Antonio’s gift ceremony.
Warnings:Fluff only,no cursing
Note:I am not a spanish native, nor do I know any native spanish. If you see any mistakes, please correct me.
You were Y/N L/N.You were a smart 15 year-old girl who always got straight A’s,never got into fights, and was the family treasure. You were (h) height, with l/s h/c hair, and a pretty face, which always got praised even though you didn’t really feel pretty. You were shy and introverted.
The day started out well enough. You were in your bedroom, which had walls that are painted w/c.It was a bit big, with a four-poster bed in the center,a neat bookshelf on one side of the wall opposite your bed,and a dresser on the other side of the bed.You got up and went to the bathroom to do your business. After that you got changed and headed downstairs for breakfast. You ran your hand down the railing, tapping a tune with your fingers on the way.It was something you liked to do,because you were musically inclined.
“Y/N!Buenos Dias,mi amor!How was your sleep?”.Your mother greeted you.
“Fine.’‘,you replied. You took your place at the table and took an arepa con queso. No sooner than you had brought it to your mouth your mother exclaimed,’‘Oh!’‘,which caused you to drop your arepa in surprise.’‘What is it,Ma?’‘,you siad as you picked up your arepa.
‘‘I just remembered,we’re going to the Madrigal’s for lunch today. They have invited our family to...get to know us better.’‘,your mother replied. You groaned.Your family already knew of the Madrigals, since your family had already been living here before you were born. You guessed that your mother meant ‘get to know you better’.Besides, you already knew one Madrigal,Mirabel.Wasn’t that enough? You hadn’t even been to the house before. You continued eating in silence, until your father spoke.
‘‘Mija, would you do me a favor and manage the mercado for today?Your mother and I are first going to talk with the Madrigals before lunch.’‘,he asked.‘’Sure,Papa.’‘,you replied.
Your family had a small shop, with hardware and tools, yarn and cloth, stationery supplies, and many more.It was a multi-purpose shop, and the Madrigals mostly came there to buy some things and have a chat with your father, who usually managed the store.Mirabel Madrigal, your best friend, always went there to get her cloth and yarn. You always were happy to chat with her.
You finished eating and washed the dishes. After that, you did the other chores, such as sweeping the floor, cleaning the mirrors, and others your family expected you to do because you were the ‘perfect’ girl.
You sighed. You didn’t really want to be perfect much, but you had no choice.Either you were perfect,or disappoint your parents.

You had finished sweeping and was heading to the shop when you spotted Mirabel going the same way.’’Mirabel!Hey!’’,you called as you ran up to her.
‘‘Oh,hey Y/N.I heard you were going to the Casa for lunch today.’‘,she replied.’‘Yeah.Although I’m not exactly,’‘you kicked a small rock.’‘Thrilled.’‘
‘‘Why not?’‘
‘‘Well,I don’t really know your family much. What if they don’t like me?’‘,you stated.’‘That’s not true.I know they will like you.Especially...’‘Mirabel broke off, giggling.’‘What?Especially who?’‘,you asked.’‘N..no,nevermind.I’m sure he will like you once he sees you.’‘,Mirabel replied, still not stopping her giggling.
’‘Okay..?Well then off to manage the mercado for now.Did you need something?I could get it for you.’‘,you said, unlocking the shop.’‘Oh yeah.I just remembered that I needed some yellow cloth, about 5 meters.’‘,she replied.
‘‘Okay.’‘,you replied as you fetched the said cloth. As you were measuring the cloth,Mirabel suddenly exclaimed,’‘Oh yeah!I just remembered that I made a dress for you!’‘
‘‘Yeah, how did you know?Oh wait,we’ve been friends for 10 years now.’‘,you laughed.Mirabel was chuckling along with you when the shop door opened.
‘‘Mirabel,Tia Julieta is looking for you.She says she needs help with the table setting.’‘You looked up.The speaker was none other than the famous Camilo Madrigal.’‘Oh hey, primo.Tell Mama I’ll be right there.I’m just fetching this cloth from Y/N.Y/N,this is my primo,Camilo.’’,she introduced.’’H...Hi!’’,you greeted in an unusually shrill voice.Camilo waved back and exited the shop.
‘‘What?’‘Mirabel was looking at you with a look on her face.’‘Oh,nothing.How did you like my cousin?’‘
‘‘Hmm,nah he’s fine.’‘,you replied, finishing the cloth. What you didn’t say to her was that the way he waved to you was stuck in your head, and how his curly brown hair bounced as he walked, and how your heart beat faster when you looked into his eyes.

You were on your way to the Casa Madrigal with your parents. You had put on the dress Mirabel gave you, which was beautifully embroidered with different colorful patterns, and your best jewelry. You also had your hair done, with beautiful butterfly pins that Mirabel also gave you.You were about to step inside the house when you felt the tiles ushering you inside.’’H..Hello,Casa!Casita?’’,you greeted the house. The tiles waved enthusiastically.
The sight of the house took your breath away.It was huge, with high beige walls,a roofless center, and of course the friendly tiles.Above the stairs,on the second floor, you could see the familia’s doors which glowed with magic, and the Miracle Candle above Abuela’s door on the center.Beside her door were her childrens’,the triplets’:Pepa,Julieta-Mirabel’s mom-,and Bruno.Beside Julieta’s door were her children Isabela,Luisa, and...You almost looked for Mirabel’s door, then remembered her telling you that she had no gift,so she stayed in the nursery. You felt sad for your friend and knew that if you could do something for her,you would. The doors on Pepa’s side were Dolores,Camilo, and Antonio.Camilo, you thought giddily as you walked up the stairs, hand keeping a firm grip on the railing in case you fell because of your sweaty hands.Suddenly your hand slipped and you fell sideways off the stairs.
‘‘AGHHHHH!!!!’‘,you screamed as you fell. You braced yourself for the impact, but instead fell into a pair of arms.
so how was this part one?please let me know in the comments.it would really mean a lot to me.
