Day 14 is Scorpion Pose 🦂 Picture on the left is from 9/20/14 Picture on the right is from today 3/14/20 😳😅SIX YEARS?! Boy I’m old. But with age comes wisdom hehehe. All joking aside, it’s crazy to watch myself from the beginning of my yoga journey because I still feel like I’m a beginner lol. Now I understand. There was no way that Eden from 2014 was going to attempt this pose without a wall. Even now I made sure there was something behind me except the difference is I didn’t rely on it. I haven’t even really attempted forearm stand...like ever as peculiar as that sounds for someone that’s been involved with yoga for more than five years. I was surprised today to almost float up into forearm stand. I felt the balance & that was my safe spot....forearm stand???? A safe spot??! YESS lol compared to scorpion pose it’s a breeze (to me, now). It was fun figuring out where I’m at with scorpion pose now. I’m working on lifting my head up & reaching my toes down...as I was practicing this pose today it was really easy to lose my balance but in a controlled way of course. No flipping back and forth *gotta protect that spine*. I was able to sit comfortably like this forrrrrrr...wait for it.... Did I ever tell that I also like to do film scores?, I guess no 😅 well this is one of my score that I made this week (don't remember when) I love to experiment with anything that involves sound so don't be surprised when I start doing scores for animation (since I love and enjoy watching/drawing & inventing cartoons). Overcoming Perfectionism...

Perfectionism prohibits progress… and purpose.

We put too much pressure on ourselves to see the end at the beginning. To have all our ducks in a row and a perfect plan that accounts for every ‘what if’ and 'maybe’ because, you know, “failing to plan is planning to fail” and God forbid we look anything less than perfect at any given moment.

Life is a learning process. You’re never going to have all the answers or feel fully and completely ready. But you will likely be ready before you feel ready. Don’t doubt yourself.

I can’t even begin to count the number of times I held off on something because I didn’t feel ready. Or needed everything to be perfectly in place and thoroughly planned before moving forward. But the pressure of getting things perfectly in place and thoroughly planned always overwhelmed me to the point that I got nothing done. Freedom to make mistakes means the freedom to learn. If you don’t allow yourself the pain of the former you won’t get to the benefits of the latter.

Kill perfectionism. Whatever you want to do start now. As unfinished and unprepared as you think you are, chances are you’re more ready than you know.
