Mom: Just macaroons, I didn't make any mandelbread this year.

Thanks to my cousin @slyasafox324 I have a fabulous new Mandelbrot recipe. She told me I could share, so, lucky you, here it is! It’s a must-try. Mandel Brot Recipe: 3 large eggs 1 cup vegetable oil 1 cup sugar 1 tsp vanilla extract 2 tsp almond extract 3 cups all purpose flour 2 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt 1 cup chopped nuts 1/2 cup chocolate chips 1/2 cup halved candied cherries, optional a few raisins, optional Cinnamon sugar Preheat oven to 350. Using an electric mixer, beat the eggs, oil, sugar, vanilla and almond extract at medium speed for 3-4 minutes or until smooth. Add the flour, baking powder and salt and beat until well blended. Mix in the nuts, chips, cherries and raisins. Refrigerate the dough for at least 30 minutes. On a floured board, shape dough into 3 logs about 3-inches wide and one-inch thick. Place on a parchment lined cookie sheet. Bake for 25 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from the oven and slice each log into strips about 1/2-inch thick. Place the strips on their sides. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and return to the oven for about 10 minutes until lightly toasted in color. Turn the strips over and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Bake for another 5-10 minutes or lightly toasted color.
