MARCH MADNEY APPROACHES!

Hello and welcome to March Madney!

Each week will have a different prompt for you to use as inspiration to create a fanwork (or share something you've previously created!). It could be fanfic, fanart, a moodboard, a mixtape playlist, whatever you want!

March 1-7: Episode Coda or a Missing Moment Maybe you want to show us the first buffriday! Or what happened in the hotel room after they saved the woman in Pinned. Maybe you want to give us the road trip back from Boston, or Madney picking out all the finishings for their forever home! Go nuts :)

March 8-14: Different First Meeting AU Exactly what it says on the tin! Change as much or as little as you want. Maybe their first meeting is over the comms with dispatch. Maybe they’re on a spaceship! Your imagination is the only limit!

March 15-21: 3+1 or 5+1 Again, the world is your playground! Maybe it’s three kisses, five almost proposals, three times they grossed their siblings out, five times they were impossibly cute.

March 22-28: Kisses/Physical Contact Madney is adorable! This can be as SFW or NSFW as you want… just make sure you tag it appropriately! (And use that read more for NSFW stuff, okay?)

March 29-31: Free Choice It’s a short week to end the month! Do whatever you want to celebrate Madney! Plan your own buffriday and share your menu. Create a karaoke playlist to belt around the house. Share your own haunted house stories!

Not a creator but still want to participate? Maybe you are a creator but have a lot on your plate? Here are a couple other options for you!

Musical Mondays: Share a song that makes you think of Madney, or a song you think they’d sing at karaoke, or to Jee and Baby Nash

WIP Wednesday: Show us something you’re working on!

Fanwork Fridays: Share some of your favourite Madney creations! And yes, this of course includes your own work!

Week One: Episode Coda

“Howie?”

“Yeah?” Chimney picked up the two mugs of coffee and headed back to the bedroom. “What’s up?”

“What are these?” Maddie was standing in front of the closet again, staring at the cardboard boxes he'd shoved in there after Hen had so helpfully labelled them “April”.

“Uh,” Chimney put the coffees down on the beside table. “I kind of forgot about those.”

Maddie arched one of her (beautiful, delicate, expressive) eyebrows at him. “Please tell me you don’t have another woman’s belongings in your closet.”

“Oh, no, not at all,” Chimney hastened to assure her. “They’re my calendars.”

“Your… calendars?” Maddie looked at him quizzically.

He nodded, reaching past her to open one of the boxes. He took out a calendar and handed it to her. “Flip to April.”

She did, the confused look leaving her face as soon as she saw it. “Oh, my goodness.”

“I beat out the rest of the station for that spot,” Chimney told her, puffing his chest out.

“I can’t believe Buck didn’t tell me,” Maddie said. “Can I have one?”

“Well… they’re last year’s calendars, they won’t have the right dates,” Chimney told her.

“Oh, I don’t care about the dates,” Maddie waved his concern away. “I want to put it in my locker at work, make everyone jealous. Actually, maybe two, one for my desk.”

“On your desk? Isn’t it a little big?”

“Unless you have a smaller print of it. Can’t I brag about my boyfriend?” Maddie turned her big brown eyes on him.

“This feels a little more like exploitation than bragging,” Chimney told her, trying not to cave to the Buckley eyes.

“I mean, Linda will appreciate it. And Josh. And probably Sue,” Maddie said with a grin.

Chimney covered his ears dramatically. “Not helping!”

“One for my locker and… one for my apartment?” Maddie suggested.

“Why do you need one at your place?”

“Well, our shifts don’t always line up, and sometimes I miss you,” Maddie purred suggestively, grabbing Chimney’s shirt and pulling him closer.

“I— okay,” Chimney said helplessly, following her lead and knowing he’d need to reheat the coffee later.

This was supposed to be longer but I REALLY wanted to post for March Madney this week and I’ve been distracted by all the everything going on in the show. I LOVE Madney, they’re my OG favorite 911 ship, and they deserve all the love and happiness in the world!

“I think she’s asleep,” Chimney said, looking up at Maddie. As soon as he took his eyes off Jee, she moved in his arms and started crying again. “Oh, it’s okay, it’s okay,” he soothed, bouncing her gently.

Maddie laughed softly.

“I spoke too soon,” he said regretfully. “Come on Jee-Yun, let’s go back to sleep. Should we go for a little walk? Yeah, let’s do that.”

“Where are you going to walk her?”

“Just around the living room,” Chimney said. “We can do a few laps, and you can have a nap. Oh, look at that Jee, your dad’s been reading too much Dr. Seuss.”

“Okay,” Maddie agreed, leaning back against her pillow. “If you’re sure.”

“We’ve got this,” Chimney said, more to Jee-Yun than Maddie.

When Maddie woke up for Jee’s next feeding, there was a photo waiting for her of Chimney smiling over a sleeping Jee-Yun in her crib.
