"So, are we still not allowed to talk about your relationships? Or, like, the lack of one?" Bryson raised an eyebrow as he ran a towel over his head, mopping up as much of the excess pool water as he could. He'd never seen the point in beating around the bush with Mariela. "Because I want to talk about it, if that's a thing you're up for now. It's been a few years since the last time I tried. But if it's not I can pretend I'm thinking of something else." @themarielaalves
Mariela
For all the roles she'd played, evil step sisters and precocious young witches, hostess had never once been on her radar- she didn't get typecast as domestic. Maybe it wasn't all that new though, when she thought about it, how her apartment became a safe haven of sorts for the others, all those years ago. Ironically the last time they'd all been together was because of Laurel, and the time before that, when she'd initially went missing. At least they'd reunited on a happier occassion.
And then there were the addition's to this year's festivities: Bryson obviously, Tallulah who seemed happy enough to be there, and Mariela: jury still out. Nadine didn't have much of an opinion on her, given they'd just met that day, but for whatever reason Bryson seemed to think she walked on water. "Hey." A drink in each hand she came up beside Mariela and offered one out to her, then looked to the photograph she'd found herself in front of. "That's- I don't remember the photographer's name, something Dutch," she said with a dismissive wave of her hand. @themarielaalves
Casi he llorado.
The Stone Guardians of the Lepisma Clan.
The Lepisma Clan is an Obelisk clan discovered underneath the Scarred Wasteland, at around the same time others of the same breed were discovered in Dragonhome. These Obelisk aren't to the same standards of those in Dragonhome, with most being "stuck" in their statue-like state and unable to become completely mobile. The Stone Guardians are a prime example of this-- but despite them seemingly being unable to move, they are among the most dangerous of the Clan, hence them being given the Guardian position.
These Guardians never leave their posts, given they don't need any form of food or water, and stand guard at every hour of the day. When members of the Lucilia attempted to approach these guards, most were injured upon reaching a certain radius, and unfortunately, one researcher who persisted ended up being fatally wounded. For those who spectated, there was no movement from the Guardians themselves and no traceable magic being put in use.
Having to abandon the deceased for their own safety, the Lucilia have stopped trying to directly interact with the Lepisma out of respect for their want to be left alone. Though, they still keep watch. It seems the Lepisma is all too aware of this, as the deceased's body was recently returned as a form of 'Warning' to the Lucilia researchers, months after the initial attempt at interaction. The body is still in the same state it had been left in, yet there are no traces of magic, or any other form of embalming, used on the body to preserve it.
