It’s funny that some people are like “he would not fucking say that” in response to Mario’s “It’s trash” line.

Even divorced from the fact that Bowser made self-ship art of him Princess Peach in the context of everything he did in the first movie, let’s not forget that this version of Mario has lived most of his life as a blue collar worker in real-world Brooklyn.

“I think it’s fuckin’ bullshit” would’ve probably been more accurate if the movie had a different age rating.

I really love the idea that Mario and Luigi hold hands a lot. When they're walking somewhere they would constantly hold hands because they like to feel each other being close. Also hand holding as a method of calming the other (mostly Mario calming Luigi) down when one notices his bro's hands are shaking.

Remembered these concept art of uhh... Wapeach? I like to call her Plum. Little edgy depressed kid, man, she so cute tbh. Gave her a little shorts for the tennis because like... Its more comftorable? Ooooh i played tennis, i know what its like.

She's probably in a big denial stage where "im not like other girls" while in secret has a peach plush, pink stuff and everything. Oh and Waluigi obviosly watches over her so she wouldnt create problems for Wario eheheh. Cmon i like the parent figure and edgy kid dymanic. Couldnt hold myself

Mario Doesn't Host Mario Party

I'm real tired of folks using this assumption to mischaracterize Mario as a Diet Wario.

Mario is a blue-collar plumber. That's his WHOLE character design. He's a humble man who wears his work uniform even when visiting royalty, and lacks the resources or the showmanship necessary to host giant go-kart competitions named after himself. He's also reactive, not proactive. We never see him initiate anything: if Peach doesn't invite him for cake or Bowser doesn't invade, he's content living a peaceful life with Luigi. These are all REALLY important aspects of Mario's character, because without them he's almost indistinguishable from Wario. Wario is the proactive seeker of fortune and fame who puts his name on everything. If Mario ALSO does that, then Wario has no reason to exist.

A good rule of thumb: if it's something Wario would say or do, then Mario WOULDN'T.

The spinoffs aren't parties BY Mario, they're parties FOR Mario, organized and funded by the people he's helped, primarily Princess Peach. You think Bowser would peacefully participate in an event hosted by Mario? Never. But if PEACH was hosting, then of COURSE he'd show up, invited or not.

Lastly: folks often wonder about whether we should consider the spinoff games canon, which is totally fair, because they create a LOT of questions: How/where are they building all these crazy tracks, stadiums, and boards? Does Waluigi really own a giant pinball machine? Is Mount Wario a location or an instruction? My personal headcanon is that (with a few exceptions) they take place in Mario 64 painting worlds. That lets us hand-wave most of the logistics.

Assorted Mario headcanons let's go!!!

☆ Acquiring the Firebrand/Thunderhand in the Beanbean Kingdom messed with the brother's proficiency with other elemental based power-ups. Ice flower's tend to melt/wilt in Mario's hands due to the Firebrand (with any ice he creates being weaker/more fragile compared to usual) while the Thunderhand powers up the magic of the fire flower at the cost of being harder to control/more unpredictable.

☆ Mushroom Kingdom ghosts/boos are attracted to areas of high, often ancient magic -- feed on emotions (primarily fear) and can be sustained indefinitely by magic. Power-ups cannot grow in areas of high ghost populations because of it.

☆ Mario and Luigi have both been changed by their environment. Side effects of repeated power-up usage and repeated exposure to ghosts and related spooks.

while most people cant really tell, the chaos heart + ghostly claim + dying for real that one time messed up Luigi's magical vibe/aura. it's noisy at best and downright overstimulating at worst. starlow can tell, however, and she has opinions about it

the chaos heart is the reason why power-ups act strangely around luigi, such as the takooki leaf/suit

☆ Toads have a minor hivemind/connection between them. Mostly just to share emotions/read intentions + alert entire population when the princess is gone or endangered.

☆ Luigi has used his Thunderhand to do stupid things before like use himself to jumpstart his kart or power up a flashlight when he cant find a battery. Has accidentally shocked himself numerous times as a result. Also accidentally fried the previous version of the Poltergust while doing research for E. Gadd .

☆ Both brothers have anxiety and I will die on this hill.

Mario has a hard time recognizing that he is anxious/has a hard time admitting he is anxious. Being one of the great heroes of the mushroom kingdom doesn't help things.

Luigi used to smoke in high school/early adulthood to semi-help with anxiety -- stopped completely only after living in the mushroom kingdom

☆ The only time Mario gets adequate sleep is immediately after getting home from an adventure and he is exhausted. Every other day, he will wake up at exactly the same time every day regardless of when he fell asleep because his brain needs him to be productive unless he dies from standing still for too long.

Relates to anxiety above but also due to insomnia (and sometimes due to nightmares but he tries to ignore those)

And now to talk about Mario and Peach's relationship.

Mario is in love with Peach. BUT that happened AFTER he saved her the first time. And his being in love with her is not the reason he goes to save her, he is just a good guy like that. That being said, Mario believes peach deserves the best, he wants her to be happy, even more than he would be with being with her. When he gets to be around her, he is happy and is glad to be in her presence. She is kind, caring, she is a great baker and chef, she is also interested in what he's been doing. Mario and Peach could converse for hours. Mario is not a knight of the kingdom, but people often believe he is. Mario also allows himself to vulnerable around Peach, because deep down, he knows she would never judge him. I do believe Mario does think he is not good enough to be with Peach, which is why he doesnt make a direct move.

Peach is in love with Mario. No ifs ands or butts. Peach finds Mario down to earth, kind, attentive, and honest. Peach finds that people often sugar coat things around her, she feels people are never honest with her, She never has that problem with Mario. Mario treats everyone with dignity and respect. Mario believes Peach has her own autonomy. Peach believes Mario is someone that can do anything regardless of the impossibility. He has a determination that cant be broken and he has found ways to save the day regardless of the foes. Peach firmly believes Mario is a True hero. Peach also loves Mario's mustache, often complimenting it. Peach has had many suitors in the past try and woo her, but she has turned them all down, bowser especially. Because Peach has her eye on one man, and he is super. She just wishes one day he will view himself the way she sees him. Until then, she will wait as she watches him eat the cake she made with a smile on her face.

Ok, head cannon regarding K rool, he absolutely LOTHES DK. Not like how Bowser hates Mario, no no no, K rool actually wants to kill DK.

Like Bowser obviously wants to humiliate Mario, he views him as beneath him, but he wouldn’t kill him. Hell he’s teamed up with Mario multiple times even if it was just because bowser wants to concur the world all for himself, he still would let bygones be bygones for the moment.

K rool? Yeah no. He wants to shoot DK and wear him like a coat.

Bowuigi headcanon: The very first time Luigi swore was exactly 1 week after he and Bowser started dating.

Coincidently, that was also the first time that Peach had to hold Mario in place to prevent him from killing Bowser right then and there.
