All right everyone it time for another…
RAMU!
(rum angels monthly update)
As I stated last time unfortunately July hasn’t seen any action on the comic front, however in late June I was able to get like, 1 page done… yeah.
Still aiming for a late 2026 release though, and hopefully I won’t be too burnt out from art fight in august.
In other news I decided to redo the map again:
Why? Because I can never be satisfied with anything…
Anyways on the conlanging front I decided to learn how to use luxurgy, and now my conlangs can finally get a real move on!
Pictured above is Classical t͡sepʰsian to Salalingo
I think I should give a brief overview of the languages that I’ve made
Cefshyan: basically Greek and Latin yes I know how original, Salalingo is a descendent of it if you were wondering, it’s gonna have features like case marking and gender, that’s right it’s gonna have blue hair and pronouns! It’s also my most developed conlang because it’s kinda plot relevant.
Antu: it’s based off of Japanese and Irish yes very wacky I know, I actually didn’t show it up there but rather it’s protolang insular Haimen, but yeah it’s gonna have features like palatalized consonants and case particals.
Craadul: I’m using a mixture of various Australian Aboriginal languages and Bengali, it’s gonna have ergativity, case marking, and also gender.
I also have a secret 5th lang that is actually in chapter, don’t get too excited it’s Literally only one word, but I am working on it and it’s gonna have pollypersonal agreement!
Alright I just have one thing more thing to show you and we’ll be done here, you ever wanted a look into the ecology given that the world is populated by anthropramorphic animals? We’ll look my friends!
So first of all, there are no mammals in the Rum angels universe they are seen as mythical creatures. Instead various other creatures fill the rolls that mammals do. Birds are already a sentient race so I decided to replace them with fish! I also decided to revive certain prehistoric animals like Dunkleosteus, Tully monster, and hadrosaurs to fill the roles of owls, whales, and horses! Aphids are live stock and I am so glad that I found out about woolly aphids because now I don’t have to worry about clothes.
Alright that should be everything, I will see all of you next month, ta ta now!
