Inktober 52 2025 - Week 5 - 'Zoo'

In 2023, I got a birthday gist to have a VIP experience with an animal at Longleat zoo, and for that I chose to spend some time feeding the giant anteater 'Maroni'.

Wanted an excuse to draw her for ages and today was the day.

It was a great experience, and I learned that Giant anteaters have a groove in their paw for their claws to find into. I thought that was neat.

I think it's super interesting that they made half of the Maroni family come from Iran. Because the Falcone's and Maroni's have always been pure italian gangs in comics and such. Changing it up makes sense. As the show displays Gotham is very diverse. It just adds a hint of new flavor and edge and I love that. They could have just made two very Italian families. But instead wanted to do something new. But also Nadia is terrifying her actress is amazing and super scary. I love changes like this to media that enhances the material
