Meeting Sebastian was the luckiest thing that ever happened to you. You both were fresh out of relationships that ended badly. It was like you were destined to meet.
When you found out you were playing a character on The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, you were beyond excited. It was the role of a lifetime, and you were a big fan of the other actors in the show, including Sebastian.
You both met at one of the first readings of the script. You both clicked instantly. Everyone on the cast knew that you both were head over heels for each other. Some of the cast members had bets on how long it would take you two to get together. It took a while.
Both yours and his prior relationships had ended badly because of the press and paparazzi. It very quickly becomes invasive and overwhelming, and it ends up leading to problems in a relationship.
So naturally, you and Sebastian were hesitant to start a relationship with another person in the spotlight.
You both finally swallowed your fears and decided to go on a date. You both ended up back at his place, giggling while watching cheesy movies. You both noticed how natural you were together. Neither of you wanted to ruin that.
You both made a promise that if you were going to pursue a relationship, it had to be a secret.
So, you both began going on secret dates.
Then, quarantine happened.
There had been one silver lining for you both during the pandemic: you both got to spend all your time together at home. As actors, that never happened.
It was a dream to wake up with him everyday. You both lived together, but it was the first time that you both didn’t have hectic schedules.
That was until the zoom interviews started. Zoom interviews were very different from normal interviews. In normal interviews, it was simple to hide your relationship. Now, you both had to be on opposite sides of the house, so no one realized you were in the same place.
On this particular day, you had finished your interviews for the day, and Sebastian was in the middle of his last one. It was Friday, and it had been a hectic week.
You decided to make some lunch for both you and Sebastian. You chose to make some of his favorites and picked out a movie you both could watch. You both were exhausted from the week and desperately needed a break.
In a normal interview, you were sitting across from someone, having a conversation. At home, there was much more to distract you. Sebastian had started sending you cute texts in the middle of interviews, or sometimes he’d ask you what you wanted for dinner.
Repetitive interviews answering the same ten questions was the recipe for boredom. So, you both entertained each other through text, all while trying to not get caught.
You didn’t hear any sound from Sebastian’s office, so you assumed his interview was over. You walked down the hallway, quietly, just in case he was still busy.
You stopped outside the door and listened. You heard silence, so you decided to open the door. “Hey, honey. You want to have some lunch?” You asked, walking into his office. You watched as his eyes went wide and he froze in place. “No, baby. Wait” he called out as you wrapped your arms around him, hugging him from behind.
You froze when you saw the computer monitor was on. You saw the faces of Anthony and an interviewer, Josh. You had done an interview with him yesterday. There was an evil smirk on Anthony’s face, and Josh was just shocked.
“Wow. What are you doing here?” Anthony asked, pretending to be shocked. He was one of the few people that knew about your relationship. “Don’t act shocked, Mackie. You’ve known this whole time” you said, giggling at his pretend shock.
The first thing you noticed was the blush on Sebastian’s cheeks. His face was bright red. He buried his face in his hands. “Hi, Y/N” Josh said, smirking.
“Hi, Josh” you said, feeling all the heat rush to your cheeks. Anthony was dying laughing in his chair. “Well don’t we have a headline here?” Josh said, chuckling.
Sebastian held onto your hands that were resting on his chest. He looked back at you, with an embarrassed expression. “I thought you were done” you said, squirming as you thought about everyone that would watch the interview.
“Come here. We can’t hide it now” Sebastian said, pulling you into his lap. You wrapped your arm around his shoulders. “Here’s the exclusive: Y/N L/N and Sebastian Stan are dating” Josh said.
Anthony had a giant smile etched on his face. “I got you, Josh. I’ll get the scoop of their relationship. So, when did you both meet?” Anthony asked, chuckling. You looked towards Sebastian, letting him tell the story.
“We had texted a few times after she got cast in the show. We actually met at the first reading of the script. It took us a long time to go on a date. We were so nervous about how the press would react. Having a relationship in the spotlight puts a lot of pressure on you both. So we’ve kept it a secret…until now” Sebastian said, and you could hear the disappointment in his voice.
You’d be lying if you said you weren’t worried about how the press would react to the interview.
You pressed a kiss to his cheek, leaning your head on his. He placed his hand on your thigh, rubbing circles on your leg. It was out of the camera shot, but it was just meant to comfort you.
After the interview, you collapsed into Sebastian’s chest. The tears immediately started streaming down your cheeks. He moved your legs, so you were straddling his lap. “It’ll be okay” he said, rubbing circles on your back.
You shook your head, not believing him. “They know now, and they’re going to tear us apart. I don’t want to lose you” you said, leaning back and looking into his eyes. He saw the worry in your eyes.
He cupped your face. “You won’t lose me. I won’t let it happen. I love you, and that’s all that matters. I don’t care what they say” he said, kissing you. He didn’t even care that all your tears fell onto his cheeks. All he was focused on was making sure you knew he loved you.
He swooped you up into his arms. “Let’s go watch that movie, baby. I’m going to cuddle you and give you kisses” he said, kissing your temple before carrying you to the living room.
You both laid on the couch with you resting your head on his chest. You knew it would only be a few days until the story of your relationship broke the news. There was nothing you could do about it, but wait.
So, you waited and tried to pretend it would never happen.
You both were sitting on the couch three days later when you both got a notification that the interview had been posted. Sebastian grabbed the television remote and pulled it up.
“No matter how people react to this, it doesn’t change how I feel about you” he said, kissing the back of your hand. You both watched the video, waiting in anticipation for the scene where you walked in the room.
You both were visibly tense. Then, the video ended. No scene of the two of you.
“Is this the right video?” You asked, turning to Sebastian. He had the same confusion on his face. “Yeah” he said, nodding slowly.
Then, your phones both dinged. You both glanced down and saw you both had been messaged on Twitter by Josh, the interviewer.
He explained that he saw how upset you both were when talking about how intrusive the press is in relationships, and he cut out the entire clip with you in it. You both sent him long thank you’s.
You looked over at Sebastian with a giant smile on your face. “No one knows still” you said as he pulled you into his arms. You felt a weight lifted off your shoulders that had been there for days.
“I told you everything would be okay” he said, stroking your hair as he hugged you.
Warnings: swearing, smut, mentions of anxiety, Dodger Evans (his cuteness is a warning) I think that’s it

Pulling into Chris’ driveway you weren’t sure why you were nervous, you had slept over several times since you started dating but this just felt more intense, you have been together a few months but this felt like a big step.
You could handle this, and even though it’s been ages since you had a pet, you could handle this. Who were you kidding? This is the most face dog on Instagram, if you screw this up you know your relationship with Chris will be over. Shaking your head at the down spiral of nerves over taking care of his dog you reach the front door.
Deep breath, you can handle this. You reminded yourself as you knocked on the door. Once the door opened you were immediately greeted by Dodger who seemed just as uneasy to see you as you are to care for him over the next week.
You crouch down to his level and scratch behind his ears while whispering to him about all the fun you have planned for the week, laughing at Chris’ eye roll that Dodger was greeted before him. “Awe, I’m just saving the best for last babe” you rise on your toes to wrap your arms around Chris and pull him into a kiss.
He seems a bit tense, but you know he has a lot going on and brush it off. “So, should you give me the proper Dodger Evans care lesson now or after dinner?” trying your best to read his mood. He didn’t seem upset, but maybe a bit anxious and you didn’t want to add to that and be the obnoxious and demanding girlfriend.
“Yea, dinner first sounds good. Did you still want to try that Indian place you mentioned?” he asked with a soft smile.
“Well, we can, if you really want to but I’m kind of hoping we could just stay in” you smiled back at him hoping to ease whatever tension he was going through. “I know it’s selfish, but you’ll be gone for the next week and I’d kind of like to have you all to myself today” looking up at him and hoping that a quiet night in would help him relax a bit.
Chris seemed relieved by your suggestion “that sounds great actually” kissing you again. Dodger happily followed the two of you around the house while Chris pointed out all of the important info you needed to know to take care of the world’s favorite rescue. You realized he wasn’t that hard to take care of, and you were bound and determined to spoil him rotten while you were his caregiver.
Deciding to order in to make things easier, you perched on the couch, “so I assumed you're packed, any other pre trip rituals you have before leaving town?”
“Pre-trip rituals? Like what?” Chris smirks at you from behind his beer bottle.
“Well, I’m not a big fan of flying, so I try to relax as much as possible before a trip. Usually a long bath with a bottle of wine, maybe a little weed if I can get my hands on some” you shrug. Chris chuckles at you before getting up and heading into the other room, you aren’t sure what he’s doing or if you should follow him, but before you know it he’s back with an open bottle of wine and two glasses, grabbing your hand and dragging you to his master suite.
You could only smile as you watched him turn on the tap to the tub and start to undress. “What are you waiting for, you are joining me” he shrugs then extends a hand to you as he steps in the water.
Deciding that this should be about him you try your best to object but the sly smile and attempt at puppy eyes breaks your resolve faster “c’mon, please”.
You shake your head at him with a smile as you undress and join him “you know, this was supposed to be a way for you to relax and decompress before your trip, not me trying to get in your pants” you sat down across from him, so your legs were entwined.
Chris automatically fake gasps and tries to look offended by your comment, only for you to laugh at him “wow, you’re a really good actor”.
"Thank you, I'm flattered you even know I'm an actor, I heard you haven't seen many of my movies" he challenges you with a smirk. It's your turn to gasp as his allegations, "that is not true, and who ever told you that is a liar."
You had seen most of his movies, so you weren't sure who would have told him otherwise. He just stared you down while you sat there wondering how the evening made this turn. Is this why he was seeming a bit off, because you haven't seen his films? That doesn't seem to make sense, he wasn't that egotistical, but this conversation did seem to shift to a more relaxed feel between the two of you so why question it.
"Did Sophie or Benedict mention what I said about Steve Rogers? Because that has nothing to do with you personally or your portrayal, it was just my response at the moment and…" you are rambling and realize by the look on his face that your mention of Captain America was new information.
"No one said anything did they?" you sheepishly look at him hoping that this conversation will be over quickly and it won't cause you to die from embarrassment but that really is the only possibility right now. He just shakes his head and looks at you unquestioningly to elaborate.
You huff and reach for the wine glasses “I'm gonna need a little liquid encouragement to open up to you about this, I was hoping to take it to my deathbed."
Handing him his glass you both drink before you dive into your take on Steve Rogers, "his immersion from that capsule was intense and while all the muscles were appealing, the smooth shiny skin reminded me of a dolphin" you shrug. "I much prefer you hairy and covered in ink" you wink at him trying to lighten the mood.
"That's it? Just his dolphin skin?"
"Yea, for the most part. There were some parts of the story that I would have written differently, but he's a good guy."
That seemed to be enough for him and you decided to try and just enjoy spending the night chatting about everything that has been going on before he heads to LA in the morning. Unfortunately the tub water turns cold and you are forced out of the bath to prevent you from pruning, getting ready for bed in a comfortable domesticated silence was nice and you were both exhausted by the time you turned in.
Chris’s early morning flight means you are immediately thrown into Dodger duty head-on, but you can handle it, he’s a sweet dog that seems well behaved. You are determined this was going to be a good week, productive as you were getting headway on your newest novel you were writing and you had a buddy to keep you company.
Finding your way to the dog park was a bit more challenging but once you did, Dodger’s humdrum disposition vanished in an instant. So your pathetic excuse of a ploy to get this dog to like you was taking him to the park daily in addition to your strolls around the neighborhood so you could both get plenty of fresh air.
It was day three of your bonding week and decided to stop at a cafe without door seating so you and Dodger could dine together after your time at the park. Dodger was relaxing on the concrete beside your table when a few 20 something ladies passed by, you didn’t think anything of it until they stopped and back tracked to your table.
The first woman gasped as she approached and stage whispered “Is that Dodger Evans?”
“It has to be, look at him!” her friend responded immediately. None of them had even looked your way, but you could tell they were looking for someone, probably Chris.
It was a little weird, and you wanted to laugh but you also didn’t want to cause problems with his fans, so you just waited for them to say something to you before interacting.
The third woman finally looked at you and plastered on the fakest smile you had ever seen, you weren’t sure you could make it through this interaction without laughing.
“Hi, um is he around here somewhere?” she looked around into the café like the others had but seemed a bit more impatient than the others.
You took a sip of your coffee before responding, “um, who?” trying your best to seem oblivious to what they were going on about.
“Chris Evans” she sighed as if you were inconveniencing her, “this is his dog, I know it is, so where is he?” her smile started to drop a bit, apparently you were irritating her with your mere presence.
Well, here goes my attempt at acting, you thought to yourself. “Oh no, he’s not here, just me and Dodger” you speak softly and have to look down at Dodger to keep from laughing. And if it was choreographed they all deflated with an ‘oh’, clearly disappointed not to be getting a glimpse at your man.
When did I get so possessive? You distracted yourself by petting Dodger and giving him a bite of your bagel, which you hadn’t asked Chris about but a little bread shouldn’t hurt him.
“Um, so what’s he like?” the first girl asked, but apparently you were in a mood and decided to mess with them.
“Oh, he is the sweetest! Best dog I’ve ever met!” you praised Dodger while scratching his ears and making kissy faces at him. As soon as the word’s left your mouth you could feel the eye roll from all 3 of them but actually able to contain yourself before looking back at them.
Ms Fake Smile immediately huffed, “not the dog, Chris, what’s he like?”
“Oh, I wouldn’t know, I only met him once” you shrug and return back to your coffee and brunch, hoping they would just walk away, but that answer didn’t sit well with her.
“You’ve only met him once and you have his dog? That doesn’t make any sense” her hands are now on her hips as if she’s challenging you.
“Um, well yea, just for the interview, I’m his assistant” reaching down and giving Dodger more food to keep him appeased.
“If you're his assistant you would be around Chris all the time and know him pretty well” the first girl seemed confused.
“Oh, you misunderstood, I’m Dodger’s assistant. I take care of him whenever Mr. Evans is out of town, or occasionally travel with Dodger to take him to Mr. Evans when he’s away. So, I’m around Dodger all the time and know him pretty well, but only met Mr. Evans during the interview process” you shrug and take your coffee trying your best to control any laughter that may come out as you think of the absurdity of the claim you just made.
The three of them looked at each other as if they were trying to process what you just said, but you realized they must think celebrities live in a different world as you watched them nod at each other because it made total sense. All you could do was wave at them as they said their goodbyes to you and Dodger without trying to break from the ridiculous character you had just created.
Chris' week was nonstop meetings and more exhausting, he hadn't realized how much he missed you until a week of short calls and occasional texts were the only communication. He quickly decided getting back to Boston as soon as he could would be the best way to end his week.
Making it home a few hours earlier was easier than he had anticipated, he knew he wasn’t homesick per se, but he was in dire need of a comfort that only you could provide. Remembering the relaxing bath you forced on him made him smile, he was anxious about the trip and you had taken it upon yourself to help him without really knowing what was going on.
Chris automatically breathed a sigh of relief when he saw your car at his house, wanting to surprise you by showing up early and worried for a minute that you might not be here. Once he made it through the front door, he was surprised to not be met by Dodger immediately, but he could hear music coming from his bedroom and decided to find out what the two of you were up to.
Stopping dead in his tracks to take in the sight in front of him, he wasn’t sure if he should laugh or take a picture, but he most definitely felt a bit jealous when he walked into the bathroom. There, in the same tub the two of you had shared last week, was now Dodger and you sharing a bath together.
“Well, I thought this was our special thing, but apparently you bathe with any guy around, huh?” he asked with a smirk on his face. You squeal when you hear his voice, Dodger immediately jumps out of the tub and runs to Chris.
“We had a rough day and needed a bath, come on Dodger, we aren’t done yet” you call the dog back and he gladly jumps in, wanting to continue the belly rubs and butt scratches you were doing before you greeted his owner.
You immediately felt guilty seeing Chris, you were bathing his dog, looking like a complete mess, when you had planned to have a nice romantic night waiting for him when he got home. This wasn’t how you wanted this to go, but you did your best to school your anxiety about the situation and took a deep breath before explaining what he just walked in on.
“I wasn’t expecting you until later tonight, Dodger and I went on a little hike and were skunked” you pout at how ridiculous your day had turned out. “This is our second bath today, the first in tomato juice to get rid of the skunk smell, and now this one so we don’t smell like marinara”
Chris is looking at you, and you aren’t quite sure what he’s thinking. Your illogical brain decided you should start rambling on to explain yourself
“I know i should have called and told you, but it was really stinky, so I didn’t want to delay” before you can continue your apology, he’s kissing you so passionately that you can’t think straight.
Pulling away for air, Chris looks into your eyes and whispers “I love you,” you gasp and start to smile when he starts kissing you again.
“I love that you stayed here and took care of Dodger this week, and I love that you are taking a bath with him, even if I’m a little jealous” before he’s kissing you again. When you finally pull away, you are delirious,
“I love you too” you tell him as he’s picking you up and taking you to the bed.
“Wait!” you stop him from climbing in bed with you. He looks at you, worried he did something wrong. “I love you, and I want this, so much, but Dodger needs to be dried off before he runs loose in your house” you are giggling as you see the realization flash across Chris’ face.
Thankfully, Dodger, being the good boy he was, stayed in the bathroom to roll around on the floor rug and towel you had pulled out, and kept all his dripping on the tiled floor. The two of you tag team to get Dodger dried off as quickly as possible, and get back to your intimate reunion.
Before you even realize it, Chris has you back on his bed and is kissing you with such passion you almost melt. He mumbled into your neck as he kissed his way down your body, how much he had missed you this week.
“Mmm, you feel so much better than my hands” you breathlessly whispered as Chris was worshiping and kissing every inch of your body, but your comment made him stop almost immediately.
Looking at you with so much lust you weren’t sure why he stopped, ‘have you been touching yourself while I was away working?” The smirk on his face told you he enjoyed the thought of you in his bed, making yourself cum and envisioning him.
You could only nod, your brain was too foggy to form words at that moment, until he replied with “show me.” You were a little shocked, you’d never done that with someone else, but you weren’t embarrassed. Sex was something you always enjoyed, especially with Chris, so you started to run you hands from your chest and down your torso, but decided to stop and make the moment more fun.
“I need a little help” you told him with a coy smile. He shook his head at you, telling you that he was only watching until you explained that you had brought toys with you.
“Wh-what kind of toys?” he seemed a bit flustered at the idea but you knew it was going to be worth it. You giggled at his reaction and just pointed towards your bag on the other side of the bed, he got up much faster than you had expected him to move after a long and exhausting week away.
Coming back, he had quickly found your toy bag inside your luggage and dropped it on the bed next to you. Reaching in you pulled out your small bullet vibrator and rubbed it across your nipples before descending to your clit, humming you closed your eyes and slowly increased the intensity settings and basked in the vibrations before teasing it to your entrance.
Opening your eyes to the movement on the bed, Chris was down to only his boxers and was palming his erection while his eyes raked over your entire body. Your orgasm was building and you had started to pant and moan when Chris’ hand took the toy from you and continued to stimulate your pussy.
His assistance had you finding your release much quicker than usual, and you were surprised at how quickly you came. “That was incredible, any other toys in that little bag of yours?” he asked, kissing your body again, leaving bites and bruises in his path.
You shook your head no, “I was hoping I wouldn’t need any artificial assistance” and smirked at the way Chris grinned down at you. The next thing you knew, Chris had captured your lips in a bruising kiss and was slowly sheathing his length inside of you. He trailed kisses down to your neck, but when he hit that spot behind your ear you could only respond with a soft moan of his name escaping from my mouth.
And all at once, his hands and mouth were on every inch of you, consuming you like never before, the euphoria only allowing you to pant and moan with each new sensation he brought you. You weren’t sure how long the two of you made love, and you lost count after your third orgasm, only your breathing slowly coming back to normal when he reached his peak and laid next to you.
“That was one hell of a welcome home” he smirked as he kissed the crown of your head and pulled you into his chest. You both laid there for several minutes before you heard your stomach reminding you of your hunger.
Chris chuckled before lifting you from the bed and brought you into the shower “let’s get cleaned up and I can take you to dinner.”
The restaurant Chris chose was one you had never been to before, but you could tell it had been around for a long time, run by the same family for generations. Once you ordered your meals, you were able to catch him up on everything going on with you this past week.
“So you are going to NY?” he asks as the waiter pours your wine. “Yes, the day after tomorrow, I have a meeting and from talking to Gabe on the phone, he seems like a good option as my new manager. I haven’t booked the flight yet, do you want to join me for a few days?” you bite your lip hoping he will join you, it could be a nice getaway for both of you, even if it is work related.
The flight to NY is quick and you are excited, getting a new manager means getting your career back on track. You have been writing non stop since your classes at Boston College ended but without a contract with a publishing company, you weren’t as diligent as you could have been, you needed a deadline to really focus.
Checking into the hotel, Chris waits in the bar until you text him the room number, he warns you that NY papz are just as ruthless as LA and wants to not bring any unwanted attention to you. When he finally makes it to the room, he’s busy talking on the phone, so you decide to freshen up a bit before getting ready for your meeting.
You are nervous, and you aren’t sure why. You’ve had these types of meetings dozens of times, but this one feels more important, after everything Aaron has put you through, it’s hard for you to trust someone with your career. His hands wrapped around you from behind but you hadn’t even realized he was off the phone, you were too preoccupied on what to expect with the meeting.
“So that was Scarlett, she invited us to have dinner with her and Colin tonight at their place. I told them I would check with you first” he kissed your neck while talking making you completely distracted and you would probably agree to anything he asked you.
You hummed as you allowed Chris to have his way with you, you need this to relax enough to not freak out during your meeting today. “What time is your meeting?” he asked between kisses.
“I need to leave within the hour to meet him for lunch” you pouted, realizing that you just wanted to spend the day in Chris’ arms.
“Hey, don’t stress yourself out, he’s the one being interviewed here, not you. If he knows what’s good for him, he’ll be begging you to work with him” he winks at you. You can’t help but to giggle at him “do you always know exactly what I need to hear?”
“That’s how I earn the best boyfriend award” he shrugged before pulling you into another heated kiss.
summary: this is the story of how in lockdown because of the pandemic sebastian and (y/n) become shower singing buddies.
words: 4.4K
a/n: i had this idea playing around in my mind for a year now - why i never wrote it? i have no clue. but here we go now! first thing i've written in months (thanks writer's block) i hope you enjoy xx ( p.s. english isn't my first language, please don't mind my possible mistakes )
When the pandemic strikes and lockdown starts, (y/n) - just like everyone else - soon realises how little time she actually spent in her apartment due to her job beforehand. It's all because of a tiny thing that occurs on the first week that manages to surprise her, a tiny detail about the flat she previously never noticed, even though having been living here for the past year.
Am I a workaholic?, she ponders in her mind as she folds her laundry, listening to the faint noise coming from the next door apartment. Faint noise as in her neighbour she's never even seen before singing in the shower.
(y/n) would've never thought the walls were so thin that she could clearly hear her neighbour moving around his bathroom and kitchen - the rooms that have joint walls with her apartment. But of course she hasn't noticed earlier. It has been dead silent. Not a single noise from any neighbour. And now it suddenly became filled with sounds.
Moving onto the next piece of clothing to fold, she's thinking about the possibilities. Can it be that until now the flat has been empty and now someone has moved in? Or did he always live here, just lockdown brought out the loudness in him?
It's not like she minds. Whenever she hears him, it's him singing. And he sings beautifully.
Maybe he's a singer, her train of thoughts continues.
It's already day five now of her listening to him sing. By now she already knows his usual daily routine. Knows when he cooks his dinner, when he does the dishes, knows when he usually takes a shower. It's usually nothing but a faint murmuring sound that she can only hear if she's in the right room - except when he turns his music up or when he decides to sing.
It all started one evening when they accidentally used their respective showers at the exact same time.
- - - - - - flashback - - - - - -
His singing is so clear that she could make out even the words, not just the melody. She's already turned off the water, thinking it was her phone that was ringing somewhere where she left it. Now she holds her breath back, standing as silently as possible in the shower with the water dripping down from her body, shivering from the cool air of the bathroom - she's just got in the shower so it didn't have enough time yet to warm up the room with its steam.
But she couldn't care less - she doesn't even notice. Instead she just stands and listens. The song sounds familiar, and she's spending her time trying to figure out what it is as his voice fills her ears.
The acoustics of the bathroom prove to be incredible, (y/n) notes to herself as she hears the words he sings reverberate from the walls.
He has a gorgeous voice. She could listen all day long.
But then he abruptly stops, much to her disappointment. (y/n) still doesn't dare to move - in case he continues. She doesn't want to break the magic of the moment. But then faint noises let her know that he's exited the shower, dried himself off and left the bathroom.
With a sigh she turns the water back on, starting her own shower as without his voice keeping her attention she's started to notice how cold she's gotten in the meantime.
When the next evening she faintly hears the water start running in his apartment, she catches herself rushing to her own bathroom, stopping in the middle of the room and waiting for him to start singing - and eventually he does.
It's the same song, and it's somehow almost even more perfect than the previous night's version was - leaving her stand there in awe, eyes closing unintentionally.
- - - - - - end of flashback - - - - - -
She finishes the folding part of the chore, and moves to pack everything in its respective place. And only a few seconds later she catches herself happily humming the melody of the song he's singing, slightly swaying her body from one side to the other.
A small giggle escapes her throat as realisation sets in - his singing seemingly has a good effect on her, making her calm and cheery without her even noticing it.
Now consciously, (y/n) continues moving to the rhythm, ever so quietly singing the lyrics in sync with him. It makes her wonder how it must feel, to sing in the shower not caring if anyone heard you - and with such awesome acoustics.
The thought keeps popping up in her mind the next day. It's been such a long time since she last sang her heart out - on a drunk night out with her friends in a karaoke bar, many months ago. And to be honest, listening to him sing every evening pretty much put her in the mood to copy him and do so herself.
This is how she ends up standing in her shower cabin nine days after she first heard him sing, taking a deep breath as she feels the hot stream of water move down her body, and eventually she starts to sing - the exact same song he sang every time, what else would she sing?
First it's quiet and soft, but as she continues, (y/n) feels herself slowly let herself go more and more, and by the time the second verse comes around, she's already belting out the words, her hands up in her hair as she's mindlessly rubbing the shampoo in, the water now turned off not to waste it.
Before the chorus starts for the second time, she takes another deep breath, just to have enough oxygen to truly sing it loud - though the words get stuck in her throat and her fingers pause mid-movement momentarily when a faint noise resembling her neighbour's singing voice enters her ears.
"Hungry eyes..." comes from the other bathroom, and it's obvious that he's belting out the words just as much as she's been doing.
Her eyes widen in surprise as her mind slowly tries to catch up to her ears, then with a wide smile on her lips she joins in, right at the next line to his impromptu duet he made of her little shower karaoke.
Through the rest of the song, they're singing together, shampoo and the bubbles in her hair completely forgotten. And when it ends, she starts laughing - sounds of pure joy escaping her lips, even though she feels a tiny bit of sadness creep up in her body that it has ended.
"Thank you for the duet!" (y/n) calls out loudly, hoping that he'll hear.
"No, thank YOU!" Comes his shouted response.
That night she goes to sleep with a smile still apparent on her face.

The next evening half on purpose and half unintentionally she takes her shower at the same time he usually does, and just as she's about to step inside the cabin, she hears the already familiar sound of the water being opened in his bathroom, and only a moment later the first words of the song can be heard from him.
With a grin she fully steps in, opens her own tap - but only slightly so it wouldn't be too noisy and accidentally drown out his voice - and joins in his singing.
This time, when it comes to the second chorus, they already changed it up a bit - taking turns in singing, with both of them having a line, then the other singing the next one.
"I need you to see..." he sings loudly.
"This love was meant to be..." (y/n) continues, then as the saxophone solo starts, she can hear him singing even that part, not caring that it doesn't have any lyrics, just making unintelligible sounds.
With laughter bubbling in her chest she joins in, shouting the sounds of the instrumental as good as she can remember. Then they reach the end of the solo, and he shouts I got, to which she shouts back hungry eyes - they clearly almost work like a professional duo now, and the thought makes her laugh once more.
Having already finished with cleaning herself - she basically just stayed in the shower cabin to sing the whole song with him - she steps out to the bath mat, grabbing her towel.
"This was pretty awesome!" His voice sounds again through the wall.
"Agreed!" (y/n) replies happily.
"I'm Sebastian."
"And I'm (y/n). Nice to meet you!"
"You too!"
With giggles still lightly shaking her upper body she puts on the oversized t-shirt and shorts she uses as for sleeping, then leaves the completely steam-filled bathroom.

After two weeks of shower karaoke duets - including a variety of songs instead of singing only Hungry Eyes every time and them singing even harmonies once - one day, after just finishing writing an important e-mail, she hears a knock on her front door.
With a frown wrinkling the skin of her forehead, she puts her laptop down next to her on the couch and rises to her feet, stretching with her arms high in the air as she makes her way towards the entrance.
Who could it be when everyone should literally just stay home?
The wooden material swings open by her hand's movement, but she finds nothing outside. Not a single soul standing there - and for a moment, she thinks she hallucinated. Maybe being completely alone and not seeing a person in real life for weeks has gotten to her head and now she's imagining things.
But then as she goes on to close the door back again, her eyes land on a white piece of paper laying on the ground right outside her doorstep.
She leans down and grabs it, confusion making its way back to her face, then standing back up she kicks the door shut and instead focuses on unfolding the little note.
"Considering that we already shared quite a couple heartfelt duets, I feel like it's time to get to know each other more. Here's my number. Sebastian"
(y/n) shakes her head playfully but can't ignore the fluttery feeling in her chest and the wide smile her lips curve into upon seeing his handwriting and reading his words.
She strolls back to the living room and slumps back into her previous seat on the sofa, grabbing her phone that was sitting on top of the coffee table. Without paying attention to it she unlocks the device and then types in a new message addressed to the number scribbled at the bottom of his piece of paper.
"i just want to make things clear first. i'm only giving you my number so we can discuss future songs to sing. (y/n)"
After a moment of thinking she adds a couple laughing emojis and one heart to make sure he understands that she's only joking, then presses send.
"oh. understandable. you have any recommendations?"
He replies sooner than she's expected - she was already pulling her computer back into her lap when her phone chimed, signalling the new message. As she reads she mindlessly leans back against the cushions, her mind already spinning with all the song titles that she can remember, song ideas to tell him about - and just like that her job is completely forgotten, within a short second.

A month later, when (y/n) finally has a free day having caught up with all work she had to do, she soon finds herself in her kitchen, baking her favourite cookies with the playlist she and Sebastian have made - fittingly titled songs for when we're in the shower - playing in the background.
As she's peacefully stirring the dough and hums to the melody of the song that's currently playing, a thought pops up in her mind - and the more she thinks about it, the harder it is to talk herself out of it.
That's why about an hour and a half later she's standing outside in the corridor, a bowl of cookies in one hand while the other raises to knock on the door closest to hers.
Sebastian opens it only a few seconds later, with an expression that is similarly confused and surprised as hers was a month back, when he left her the little note with his number, his eyes taking in the girl standing in front of him.
"I know we're supposed to stay home and not meet anyone, et cetera, but I figured that since now I barely even left my home since it's right next door and I literally haven't met anyone for two weeks now - and I guess you haven't really met anyone either -, it wouldn't be that bad if I came and said hello and offered you some of the cookies I made today," she rambles on before his eyes even arrive back to her face.
He lets out a chuckle as she takes a deep breath, slightly panting. "Wanna come in?"
His question makes her to be the confused one now, she really didn't expect that response.
"I know we're supposed to stay home and not meet anyone," he quotes her words perfectly, a playful grin apparent on his lips. "But since you're correct and I haven't met anyone - actually for three weeks, not even two - I think it wouldn't be that bad if you came in and we had a proper conversation instead of texts, phone calls and shouting through walls."
Hearing him say back a speech so similar to hers makes her giggle, then with her eyes sparkling bright she nods. Sebastian steps aside to let her in and watches on as she moves further inside his apartment, slowly closing the door and following her.
"It's so weird," she notes.
"What is?"
"Well, first of all that this is the complete mirrored image of my place which makes it look weird, and secondly to be here, seeing where your singing comes from."
"And you haven't even seen the bathroom," he points out jokingly, earning a chuckle from her.
Stepping inside the living room, the young man stops in the middle. "Take a seat," he nods towards the sofa.
(y/n) mumbles a soft thank you as she slowly lowers herself to the mentioned furniture, Sebastian following suit. A minute or so of slightly awkward silence passes, the girl's fingers fidgeting with the hem of her T-shirt, her eyes glancing around the room - looking at basically anything but him.
"One would think so many shower karaokes would be enough to break the ice between two people," she mumbles, shaking her head in disbelief with her lips curving into a smile.
"Maybe we should sing something right now. Who knows? It might work," Sebastian suggests, laughter in his voice.
"Good idea!" (y/n) chuckles.
Only having meant it mostly as a joke, it surprises her when he stands up and eventually puts on a karaoke version of a song in the tv, making her eyes widen. She watches on as he raises the remote control to his lips and with a playful glance sent her way starts singing.
Laughter bubbles in her chest as he gets more and more into it, singing with more and more passion and motivation then in the beginning. Then he nods her way, signalling to her that she should join in, but she only shakes her head, still laughing - she'd much rather just continue watching the show.
Sebastian tilts his head, and not taking no as an answer, walks over to stand right in front of her, and just as she cranes her neck to look up at him, he reaches down and grabbing her hand with his free one pulls her up into a standing position, dragging her behind him back to the stage, the empty space between the tv screen and the coffee table.
Still pretending it's a microphone, he holds the remote control in front of her lips, looking expectantly down in her eyes. A sigh escapes her as she finally gives in and starts singing the words to the song playing. He silently cheers, smiling even wider than before, with his fingers still not releasing their hold on her.
Her initial shyness slowly evaporates as they continue singing, and she can't help but let the thought linger in her mind that it's the most fun she's had in a very, very long time - and not only because of the lockdown that's happening, she honestly can't remember such an entertaining and joyous thing to happen with her long before the pandemic even started.
"Let me just say, singing duets is way more fun when we're not separated by a wall," her neighbour notes when the song ends, and she nods enthusiastically, taking the remote control from his hand and focusing on finding another song to sing.
One and a half hour later, with their throats and vocal cords feeling absolutely sore from singing their hearts out, loud and clear, to so many songs, they settle on the couch with a deep-frozen pizza fresh out of the oven sitting in front of them on the coffee table, both holding a drink, watching as the Netflix logo appears on the screen.

Uncountable afternoons and evenings spent together go by, sometimes with him appearing on her doorstep unannounced, sometimes with them previously agreeing on the exact time and place.
They spend their time with endless conversations - fun and light or deep and serious, depending on their moods -, cooking together and experimenting with new food recipes they find online, watching movies or whole seasons of a tv series they found earlier in one sit, doing some diy projects together gratifying their creative sides, and of course having karaoke nights - though still their shower singings don't stop either.
One morning when waking up her nose breathes in a scent that's not what she's used to and opening her eyes she finds herself in a bedroom that looks pretty much like Sebastian's, with a frown she tries recalling what happened and how she got here.
Pushing the covers to the side, a slight relief spreads through her veins - her clothes from last night are still on. As she tries to remember everything, she finds that her memories include another evening spent at his place, with the usual singing, eating and movie watching - except the fact that they drank a bit more alcohol than they usually do.
She remembers the start of the movie they've chosen, but definitely can't think back to how it ended. She must've fallen asleep mid-movie due to the alcohol buzzing in her system, and then probably Sebastian took her back to his room - for a reason that remains a secret for now, because she might as well just continued sleeping on his couch.
Carding her fingers through her hair as an impromptu brushing, she makes her way out of the bedroom. The delicious scent of freshly baked pancakes fill her lungs, leading her straight into the kitchen.
Her neighbour isn't there, but a plate of pancakes is sitting on the counter and as she steps closer, she notices lines of maple syrup on top of the stack. Her eyes follow the lines made with obvious care, and suddenly it all combines into a word - no, words.
will u be my gf.
With one eyebrow raised in question she moves her head and looks around the room, waiting to see him jump out from somewhere shouting the word prank. But he's nowhere.
At least until a few seconds later, when she's already gone back to examining the food on the plate, he appears in the doorway leading into the kitchen.
"Oh, you're up!" Sebastian speaks up, making her spin around fast - as if she was caught doing something she shouldn't have been doing in the first place. "I was about to bring this in to you."
"This?" (y/n) points in the direction of the counter behind her back.
"Yeah," he nods, then his eyes slightly widen - probably just realising what is on top of the pancakes.
"Did you write this all with maple syrup?"
"Yeah," he repeats himself, only a little bit more out of breath. He didn't mean her to see it. Well, at first he did, but then he changed his mind whilst being in the bathroom.
"Impressive. It must've been hard to write with the syrup and on top of actual pancakes," the girl bites back a grin.
"It wasn't that difficult," he shrugs, trying to fight the flow of blood he feels rushing to his cheeks.
"I love the abbreviations."
Her eyes sparkle brightly, and if it wasn't for that and her smiling expression, he wouldn't have noticed the teasing tone of her voice.
When he doesn't reply, she takes a few seconds just to watch his face, then turns her body a bit only so she could look back down at the plate.
"Do you mean this?" Her mumble cuts through the silence of the room, and she keeps her eyes focused on the food just to be able to play it cool if it turns out she misunderstood something terribly or that it was truly nothing but a joke.
"Ugh," he starts his answer, then clears his throat when suddenly the tightness inside there makes it too hard to speak. "Yes, I do."
"You want me to be your girlfriend?" (y/n) glances back at the young man over her shoulder, and for the shortest moment their eyes connect.
"Well, if you wanna be, I mean, I don't wanna force you into anything, but I just thought I'd ask," he rambles on pointlessly, only coming to a stop when she picks up the fork next to the plate and after cutting a piece of pancake down with it, she places it in her mouth.
"Oh, wow, this is amazing," she lightly groans at the taste, eyes momentarily rolling back into her head before flicking up to look at his. "You want some?"
He nods - his movement clearly uncertain, then watches as she takes another piece of the breakfast and holds it out for him high in the air. Leaning in he lets it enter his mouth and hums appreciatively, both thanking her and agreeing with her words. The pancake did end up tasting pretty good, he can't help but congratulate himself. Lockdown seemingly had its benefits: he became a rather good cook, even if it mainly includes him making pancakes or spaghetti bolognese.
They eat silently for a minute or two, taking turns, one bite for one and then one for the other. Anxiety builds in Sebastian's whole existence as his eyes carefully examine her expression, flicking up and down every other second to try and figure out what's going on inside her head.
Did he ruin everything they had? Did he only make it all awkward?
When for the first time since his confession she glances in his eyes again, she recognises the look of worry sparkling in them immediately and lets out a quiet and soft giggle.
"What got you so concerned?"
He huffs as if she's asked something completely ridiculous, something unequivocal. "I don't wanna lose you," he shrugs in the end.
"What makes you think you'll lose me?" (y/n) can't help but continue her teasing assault on him, it's just too much fun.
"Well, if you don't want this," Sebastian points at the pancake, pausing mid-sentence to let his words sink in and let her know that he doesn't actually mean the half-eaten food but instead the words that were written on it. "Then it'll only make things weird and then you'd not want to come over anymore and we'd never see each other again besides when passing the other on our way in the building."
"Wow, you have quite a sad picture playing in your head," she raises an impressed eyebrow. "Lucky for you, I would love to be your girlfriend."
It takes an extra second for him to realise what she's actually just said, but then as his eyes widen and his lips start to curve into an incredulous, small grin - she knows it was definitely worth teasing him a bit.
"You serious?" He tilts his head in question, his teeth catching his bottom lip to bite back the joyous chuckle threatening to bubble out.
(y/n) vigorously nods her head, finally letting the face-splitting smile take over her features. Without paying any attention to it, she places the fork down on the counter, then reaches up with her now free hand to gently caress his face - enjoying the way his stubble scratches the soft skin on the inside of her palm.
Their eyes connect just as her fingers stop moving and instead come to a rest on his cheek - and in each other's eyes they see a possible future playing out just like a movie. Endless karaokes in and out of the shower, thousands of movies to watch together, pillow fights, baking competitions to see who's a better cook. Fights when something isn't right, gentle words and shy touches to make the tension and pain go away. Difficulties caused by having such different jobs, not seeing each other as often as they'd like to - leading to karaokes throughout FaceTime to escape tearing up a little from missing the other so much. But through it all, they're both there, pushing through the hardships and endlessly enjoying their adventures, hand in hand and with certainty in their hearts and minds.
Sebastian starts humming, slightly breaking the peaceful moment, pulling them both back to reality - and as she listens more carefully, she recognises the words. She's sung these very words at least a dozen times if not more in her shower.
"I've been meaning to tell you, I've got this feelin' that won't subside," he mumbles, slowly moving his arms around her torso to embrace her. "I look at you and I fantasize, you're mine tonight..."
The girl giggles, glancing down at his chest when the sparkling, unabashed look of adoration in his eyes becomes too much to bear. His palms press softly into her skin, making her sway along with his body as he continues quietly singing the song.
"Now, I've got you in my sights, with these hungry eyes-", a chuckle breaks his singing momentarily and her eyes move back up to his to share his laughter. "One look at you and I can't disguise, I've got hungry eyes, I feel the magic between you and I."
Having listened to this song so many times, she can hear the instrumental in her ear as if the song is actually playing in the background, so she knows exactly when to join in - just like they've done countless times in their respective shower cabins. "I wanna hold you so hear me out, I wanna show you what love's all about, darlin' tonight."
They sway together in his kitchen, whisper-singing the song to each other, enjoying the feeling that finally it has a meaning and it's not just some song lyrics anymore that they love to sing.
"Now, did I take you by surprise?" Sebastian sings and can't stop himself from glancing at the remnants of the stack of pancakes sitting on top of the counter, thinking back to the minutes leading to this very moment, right from the time he came back to the kitchen. It indeed was a surprise.
Warnings: mentions of cancer, death and shitty writing
Also excuse the sad imagines I’ll be posting. They are helping me with my grieving process
"Mommy I need you to record me" Phoebe says as soon as I walk off set.
"What's happening?" I ask going over to her and she smiles at my costume.
“I like your costume” she says and I smile at her.
"But I want you to record me doing something" she says and I nod pulling my phone out.
"Okay I'm recording. What are you going to do?" I ask recording her as we move to outside where the filming isn’t taking place.
"Tom taught me how to cartwheel and it was super cool because he was in his Spider-Man costume" she says grinning at the camera.
"Show me, I want to see it" I say and she nods and she runs back a little and she does it halfway and I cheer.
"That was amazing bee" I say cheering her on and she bows.
"Thank you, thank you" she says blowing kisses and she runs up to the camera smiling a big toothless smile and she makes a face before covering the camera.
"We got you something bee" I say and she looks up from her homework.
"What is it?" She asks.
"A gift" I say and Chris hands her the box.
"What is this?" She asks shaking it.
"It's a surprise for you" he says.
"But it's not my birthday, that was last month and Christmas isn't for another month" she says.
"We know but we wanted to surprise you" I say and she nods.
"Okay" she says unwrapping it and she takes the top off and she starts screaming as she climbs on her knees in the seat to get a better look inside the box and she pulls out the ultrasound.
"You have a baby?" She asks.
"Yeah we do" I say and she jumps up and down with excitement on her knees as she pulls the other stuff out the box.
"It's so tiny and cute" she says cuddling the onesie.
"Do you know what it is?" She asks.
"Not yet, we are going to figure that out soon. Uncle Scott and auntie Sn are throwing a reveal party" I say and she holds the ultrasound up squealing.
"I can't wait to give this baby all my love" she says.
"What about us?" Chris asks and she looks up from looking closely at the ultrasound.
"I don't have enough to love all three of you so I'll love you both until the baby gets here. It's not that hard to understand daddy" she says with a duh tone and he laughs.
"I guess it's the only logical thing to do, foolish me" he says and I laugh as she kisses the ultrasound.
"Last session" I say and she grins at my phone as I record her.
"I'm going to beat cancers booty" she says and I laugh.
"Yes you are, you're my little superhero" I say.
"I want to be the Hulk" she says.
"The Hulk?" I ask and she grins even wider nodding.
"Yes. He doesn't have to wear clothes and no one complains when he doesn't, nothing scares him and he can't die. Also uncle Mark is cute" she says giggling and I laugh.
"Totally agree with you there" I say.
"Plus who wouldn't want to be green?" She asks.
"I wouldn't want to be green" I say.
"Yeah because you're boring" she says and I gasp holding my chest.
"You wound me" I say.
"I'm just kidding mommy you're not boring. You just don't understand the Hulk" she says laughing and Chris walks in looking down at his phone.
"Daddy!" She yells and he jumps causing her to laugh even harder.
"What's up bug?" He asks turning to face her as he puts his phone away.
"If you had to be any other superhero that's not Captain America who would you be?" She asks.
"Ooh maybe Iron man" he says and she nods.
"Who did mommy pick?" He asks.
"She didn't. I did though" she says.
"You'd be the Hulk because he doesn't have to wear clothes, huh?" He asks and I laugh shaking my head.
"That was her exact answer" I say and he laughs unpacking her lunch.
"Let me in or else I'll beat down your door, then two strangers who had been two silhouettes on the shade said to my shock you're on the wrong block" she sings.
"Silhouette" I sing.
"Silhouette" she sings super high and she instantly starts cracking up.
"Silhouette" I sing and she doubles over from laughter.
"Silhouette" she sings through her giggles, gasping for air and I start laughing with her.
"I appreciate your dedication to this performance" I say and she leans on me trying to calm down.
"The show must go on" she says in giggles and I smile at her and she leans on my arm trying to completely calm down.
"Merry Christmas, merry Christmas, merry Christmas" she sings over and over as she dances through the house and she drops a gift in my lap and I look up and she drops one on Chris.
"What's this?" He asks.
"A gift for you" she says.
"Uncle Scotty helped me get them so open them" she says and I rip the paper off and it's a jewelry box and I open it and it's a heart necklace.
"It has all of our initials including the baby’s. Right there" she says and I smile at it.
"It's beautiful" I say and I hug her and she hugs me back kissing my head.
"I love it" I say.
"Okay it's my turn" Chris says and she pulls away from me and he opens his and it's a watch.
"It's us" she says tapping the watch.
"I'm going to wear this everywhere" he says.
"Good. Never take it off" she says.
"Never" he says and they pinkie promise.
"What is it? What is it?" She asks and I laugh as Chris and I stand beside her and he starts to hand her the string.
"As soon as you pull this string we'll fi-" she snatches the string from him and pulls it before he can finish telling her and everyone's laughs turn to cheers as pink confetti and powder falls over us and she starts squealing as she jumps around.
"It's a girl!" She screams running around us and he kisses me and I kiss him back.
"We're having another girl, you're officially outnumbered" I say and he laughs as Phoebe continues to scream.
"I think we both are" he says kissing me again and Phoebe jumps and he picks her up and she wraps her arms around my head pulling me close.
"I'm so excited" she says out of breath and I laugh.
"I couldn't tell" I say and she leans her cheek on Chris’ cheek.
"I'm getting a baby sister. I can't wait to meet her" she says trying to catch her breath.
"Hey bee how about we go get some of the powder on auntie Cobie and uncle Taran" I say and she quickly nods and Chris sets her down and she bends down picking some up off the ground and she runs off over to where they are standing.
"I wanna be where the people are. I wanna see, wanna see em dancing" Phoebe sings laid back as she's cuddled up with Chris and the baby as we watch the little mermaid after coming home from bringing the baby home from the hospital.
"Walking around on those what do you call 'em? Oh, feet" she sings.
"Flipping your fins you don't get too far, legs are required for jumping, dancing, strolling along down a- what's that word again?" Chris sings.
"Street" Phoebe sings loudly and I smile at them.
"Up where they walk, up where they run up where they stay all day in the sun, wondering free. Wish I could be part of that world" she sings quietly grabbing the baby's hand.
"What would I give if I could live out of these waters? What would I pay to spend a day warm on the sand?" She sings laying her cheek against Chris' as she watches the movie with tears in her eyes.
"You can try. Oh but I-I love you means you're never ever ever getting rid of me" she sings dancing in place.
"Ready for your check?" I ask.
"Not quite. Pie for everybody. I grew up an only child in the suburb of the city. I spent my days alone, my only friend was a stray kit-"
"Are we going to sing show tunes all day or are we going to get dressed so we can leave?" Chris asks cutting her off and she turns around.
"Daddy you're ruining the video so if you aren't going to sing get out the way" she says trying to push him out the shot and he plants his feet and she starts groaning.
"But I love you means you're never ever ever getting rid of me" he says and she starts giggling.
"Daddy stoppp" she says using her back to add pressure to his leg to move him and she starts to slip and he catches her by her arms and she laughs.
"Okay, I'll move. I wanted to see your mom anyway" he says walking over and kissing me.
"Where's my kiss?" She asks.
"You didn’t want one. All you wanted was for me to get out the way and leave you alone" he says.
"You don't have to leave" she says and he picks her up and she kisses him.
“Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Bee, happy birthday to you” everyone sings as Chris walks the cake into the living room where everyone is and she holds Ainsley at the table.
“Come on chunky monkey we have to make a wish and blow out the candles” she says keeping Ainsley from touching the flames as she quickly makes a wish and blows out the candles.
“What did you wish for?” I ask and she looks up at me.
“A million more birthdays like this” she says smiling and I rub her cheek with my thumb and her smile grows.
“Can I cut the cake?” She asks.
“Yeah, the first piece. Daddy will help” I say.
“Yay” she says and I grab Ainsley.
“Bye chunky monkey, I’ll cut you a slice first” she says rubbing her hands together excitedly causing everyone to laugh.
“Chunky monkey can’t have cake yet” Chris says.
“But daddy today is chunky monkeys sixth month birthday and my seventh birthday so she should be able to have cake” she says pulling on her best puppy dog eyes.
“She got you there. Try to say no to that little face” I say and he groans.
“Fine, a little piece” he says.
“Do you hear that chunky monkey, daddy is going to let us eat all the cake” she says playing with leg and he helps her cut the first slice.
Yn and Chris Evan share videos of their seven year old just days after she passes away from cancer letting everyone know that Phoebe’s or Bee’s (as everyone in her life called her) spirit will live on forever.
summary: “dad!sebastian stan and mum!reader having a son(any age) and him being a mama's boy🥺” - anonymous
word count: 1.1k
warnings: insecurity, guilt
A/N: I feel like I took this a little bit of a darker route, but it ends up being super fluffy
While everyone was peacefully asleep, your son, Ethan, began to cry. He was only two years old. You glanced over at the clock to see it was barely 3am.
“Your turn” you mumbled to your sleeping husband. He groaned before rolling out of bed and shuffling down the hall to your son’s room. You waited for the cries to stop, but they didn’t.
In the other room, Sebastian was trying to comfort him, but nothing seemed to work. He just kept begging. “No...mommy” he complained.
It broke Sebastian’s heart. He sulked back to your bedroom after putting him back in his crib. You propped yourself up to look at Sebastian, as you still heard the echoing cries. “He only wants you” he told you, before getting back under the blankets.
It was the third time it had happened this week, and it was really getting to Sebastian.
So, you walked down the hall to your son’s bedroom. “Buddy, please stop crying” you begged. You swooped him up into your arms, and he stopped crying instantly. You paced around the room, slowly rocking him back and forth.
You felt your eyes beginning to close, desperately craving sleep. You took a seat in the rocking chair and let him lay on your chest. Before you knew it, you both had fallen asleep in the chair.
Sebastian checked the time again, knowing you had been gone for a long time. He went to check on you and found you both peacefully asleep.
He smiled at the cute scene before him, but only for a second. Then, he just felt sad. Parents always complained about waking up in the middle of the night to their kids crying.
Sebastian dreaded it while you were pregnant, but now it was all he wanted. He wanted to be able to comfort his son. He didn’t care if that meant losing some sleep.
He grabbed a blanket and lovingly placed it over the two of you before placing a kiss on yours and your son’s foreheads. Your eyes fluttered open, and you realized you’d fallen asleep.
“Hi” Sebastian said, gently. You smiled back before putting Ethan back in his crib. You took Sebastian’s hand and led him back to your room, where you both got back under the blankets.
You noticed he was having trouble falling asleep and was instead staring up at the ceiling. “What is it? I know that look” you said, propping yourself up on your elbows.
He furrowed his eyebrows and chewed on his bottom lip. You knew exactly what he was upset about. “It’s because I’m gone so often,” his voice coming out as a whisper. The emotion was visible in his eyes.
“What do you mean?” You asked, tracing shapes on his chest with your fingers. He looked like he was holding back tears. “I’m always off filming. Maybe if I was here more, he would like me more” he said, a tear slipping down his cheeks.
Your heart shattered. “C’mere” you mumbled, pulling him into your arms. You ran your hand up and down his back. He tried to let himself relax against your touch, but he was too worried he would ruin his relationship with his son.
You both laid there in silence for a few minutes. You held him in your arms, trying to bring him any form of comfort.
“He loves you so much. You’re his hero” you told him, truthfully. There was a part of Sebastian that couldn’t bring himself to believe those words. You both laid back down and you ran your fingers through his hair, lulling him into sleep. You knew he just needed some time to rest.
When you all woke up in the morning, his mindset seemed only a little bit better.
You were practically sitting in Sebastian’s lap as you both walked the morning news with your coffee. Ethan was playing on the floor with his toy cars. It was a regular peaceful morning for the three of you.
You lightly traced shapes on Sebastian’s thigh, still trying to comfort him from last night.
“Daddy, come play with me?” Ethan asked, making both you and Sebastian perk up. You saw Sebastian’s eyes light up, and he instantly had a smile on his face.
It was precious. “Of course, buddy” he said, unable to stop smiling as he joined him on the floor. Ethan handed him one of his toy cars, but Sebastian remained frozen in place with a smile plastered on his face.
“What’s wrong, daddy?” He mumbled, confused by why his dad wasn’t playing with him. Sebastian shook his head. “Nothing. I’m just so excited to play with you” Sebastian said, a few tears welling up in his eyes.
You watched them both in awe. “I think daddy needs a hug” you told Ethan. He ran into Sebastian’s arms, almost knocking him over. Sebastian wrapped his arms around Ethan, who looked tiny compared to his father.
“I love you daddy” he said, in a sing-song voice. Sebastian chuckled while giving him a squeeze. “I love you too, bub,” he kissed Ethan on the forehead.
Ethan pulled Sebastian over to where his cars and showed him all of the cars that he had. The smile never left Sebastian’s face.
He had never been more relieved in his life. You were just happy that he finally saw how much his son loved him whether he was there all the time or not.
Later that night, the three of you were cuddled on the couch as you watched Sesame Street. Ethan had taken his seat in his new favorite spot: Sebastian’s lap.
You both noticed as Ethan’s head started to droop. He was starting to fall asleep. “Hey buddy. Do you want to go night-night?” You asked him, softly. He nodded his head.
“Goodnight, bubba” Sebastian said, giving him a kiss and starting to hand him to you. Every night, you read Ethan his bedtime story. It was a part of your nightly routine.
He pulled his hands away from you as you went to grab him. “Daddy read the story” he said, sleepily. Sebastian’s eyes lit up again. You couldn’t help but smile to yourself before giving Ethan a hug.
Sebastian walked towards Ethan’s bedroom with the sleepy toddler dozing in his arms. After only a few minutes, Sebastian returned to the living room. He sat down beside you with the same million dollar smile on his face.
“I told you that you were his hero” you said, giving him a soft kiss. He wrapped his arm around your shoulders as he changed the channel to anything other than Sesame Street. “I love him so much,” he said, leaning in closer to you.

As you walked into the old gymnasium, you were struck by the booming bass coming from the dj’s booth and countless flashbacks to your high school experience.
It all came back to you in a flood of memories. You remembered the dreaded dodgeball games and watching awkward promposals. Within an instant, it’s like you were a teenage girl again, and your only concern was your upcoming physics test.
As you took it all in, someone walked up to you. You almost missed them saying hi to you as you reminisced. “Wait...Camille? From Ms. Benson’s home room? It’s been forever. How are you?” You asked, remembering the girl who sat next to you in home room. She had traded in her grunge aesthetic and denim jackets for a designer dress and a Gucci handbag.
“I’ve been doing great. It’s nice to see you. You look amazing. I almost didn’t recognize you” she said, and you giggled at your identical dilemma.
In high school, you would have refrained from calling yourself a nerd and instead chose “academically inclined.”
Here you were, almost twenty years later, and you definitely had not peaked in high school. You were now the CEO of a successful business. Let’s just say, your appearance now put your high school self to shame.
“Meet my husband, Robert” Camille said, introducing you to the man at her side. You both exchanged polite smiles and a handshake. After you had gotten all the pleasantries out of the way, Camille got to the gossip. “So are you married?” She asked, paying close attention to your answer.
You shook your head politely. “No, I’m single actually” you informed her, casually glancing around the room. “Really? I would have assumed you and Chris would have ended up together” she told you, and you nearly choked on the air.
She smirked at your reaction. “I—ummm. Why would you think that?” You asked, innocently. You still weren’t a very good liar, and she noticed.
“Come on. You were head over heels for him in high school. I always assumed he had a thing for you too. You two would make an adorable couple” she teased you. You felt a small grin appear on your face as you remembered the love of your life during high school.
Chris had been the one thing that distracted you from school. He was like a Ken doll. You had gone to school with him since kindergarten, and once high school started, you were in love. You believed he was your soulmate. It ended up just being a silly fantasy.
“He didn’t even know I existed in high school. Besides, now he’s a big successful actor” you told her, stubbornly. She didn’t seem convinced by your words. “Well, I have some more people to say hello to. Let me know when you and Romeo finally get together. It’s been good to see you” she said, taking her husband's hand and walking away.
You tried to ignore the heat beating off of your cheeks. You headed towards the open bar, knowing you would need a drink to deal with tonight because along with the nostalgic high school flashbacks, came dealing with the preppy girls who had once been cheerleaders and were now three-times divorced.
You thanked the bartender and took the glass out of his hand. You turned around and ran right into someone. You stumbled backwards and felt a strong pair of hands grip your forearms and stop you from falling.
Once you finally got your balance, you looked at the person the arms were attached to. You nearly spit out your drink.
Chris Evans.
“I’m so sorry. Are you okay?” he quickly apologized, but you were left speechless. Slowly, your brain began to function again. “Yes, no I’m—I’m fine” you stuttered, still not believing your eyes.
You didn’t think Chris would even show up tonight. You assumed he was probably busy with work, being famous and all that.
He chuckled as you stumbled over your words. “Wait. It’s you?” He asked, a sense of realization washing over him. His eyes gazed over your body, engraving it all into his memory. “You look...wow” he mumbled, breathlessly. It was the first time he had gotten a good look at you.
Just like that, your walls shattered. In high school, you viewed Chris as amazing in every way. He was perfect in your eyes. Finally, twenty years later, you knew he wasn’t. He was just like everyone else. Every expectation you’d had of him for years was shattered.
You were invisible to him in high school. You didn’t think he had ever even looked in your direction. You only now had his attention because you were attractive. He wanted nothing to do with you when you were the smart girl who aced all of her tests. Now that you had an amazing figure, he was all over you. He was just like every other guy.
“Thank you...for finally waking me up. I can’t believe I let myself think you were a good guy” you said, muttering the last part to yourself. Then, you moved your arms away from him and walked right past him. After having your “aha moment”, you wondered why it took you so long to see him for what he truly was.
You quickly busied yourself with making small talk with a few friends. You weren’t really that interested in the conversation, but you desperately needed a distraction. It didn’t help that you could feel Chris’ eyes burning into your skin.
Even when he was talking to other people, his eyes would find yours over the shoulder of whoever he was talking to. It felt like your skin was on fire; all because he was watching your every move.
You headed towards the bar, needing another drink to cope with this. Before you could make it to the bar, someone grabbed your hand and pulled you towards them. In your heart, you knew who it was, but you prayed it wasn’t.
You were right.
It was Chris.
He had pulled you towards the dance floor, and his hands were resting on your hips. You tried to pull away, but he had a firm grasp. “Let me go” you said, simply but sternly. He shook his head, not giving in an easy as you would have liked.
“Can we just talk?” He asked you, looking into your eyes. You huffed, but eventually gave in. You wrapped your arms around his neck and swayed from side to side with him. “What did I do to make you upset?” He asked you.
You could see how genuine he was in his eyes. After all these years, he exuded comfort.
“Do you think I didn’t see you checking me out?” You asked him. His brows furrowed in confusion. “I didn’t mean to be creepy. It’s just...you look good” he told you, but his eyes didn’t leave yours. No lingering glances that rolled down your body. He was looking right into your eyes. You couldn’t help but start to believe him.
You were torn. You didn’t want to fall for his trap, but you had twenty years worth of feelings that hadn’t disappeared. “It’s not that you looked. It’s that you didn’t look before. In high school, I was invisible, but now all of a sudden you’re interested. Now that I’m not the nerdy smart girl, you are suddenly invested in talking to me” you said, sharply.
He made it hard to be mad at him. You wanted to hate him, but you couldn’t bring yourself to do it.
He seemed confused by what you said. “I was just shocked that you look so different now. It took me a second to recognize you. And you were never invisible to me” he told you, his thumb rubbing into your hip.
“Oh please, you barely knew my name in high school” you said, unconvinced. He chuckled to himself while looking down at the floor. “No, I got nervous around you. I barely knew my own name when you were around” he told you, bashfully.
You didn’t know whether to believe his words or not. He was an actor, so it wouldn’t be hard to trick you, but the look in his eyes felt genuine. “Prove it” you challenged him.
A small chuckle passed through his lips as he looked at you. “Okay. When you were really focusing in class, you would bite the end of your pencil. Your golden rule was that you had to get above a 93% on any test you took. Sometimes when it was dodgeball day, you would sneak under the bleachers to read your favorite book: Something Wicked this Way Comes by Ray Bradbury” he rambled, and you were blown away. He had been paying attention to you all those years.
“Wow” you said, stunned. He smirked as he watched you realize everything he said was true. “Believe me now?” He questioned. You just nodded your head. You suddenly felt embarrassed for being so mad at him.
“I’ve been waiting twenty years to do this, but can I kiss you?” He asked you, his bashful expression reappearing. You felt your cheeks heat up and the butterflies in your stomach as you nodded.
Within a moment, his lips were on yours. It was perfect. You had been dreaming of this day for over twenty years. You always assumed this moment would be underwhelming if it every happened, but you were wrong.
His lips fit perfectly in yours. They tasted like cinnamon. Your fingers laced through his hair, gently pulling on the soft strands. His hands gripped your hips, pulling you closer to him. You both pulled away with contagious smiles.
You felt a warmth beginning to pool between your legs. You wanted his lips on you forever; however, your high school reunion was hardly the place to have those thoughts.
You rested your head against his as you both continued to dance. After about ten minutes, you both were getting restless. His lips grazed over yours again, with a gentle, feather-like touch. “How about we get out of here?” He mumbled against your lips.
He noticed your eagerness as you quickly nodded. “We did just get here. I’d hate for you to not get to see everyone” he said, teasing you.
You shook your head. “You were the only one I was hoping to see tonight” you told him, honestly. With that permission, his hand was in yours, and he was pulling you towards the exit.
Within twenty minutes, you both were pulling up in front of his house. You both rushed inside, hand in hand. As soon as the door was closed, he pinned up against it. His lips were instantly on yours. He had an insatiable appetite that only you could satisfy.
“I have waited so long for this” he mumbled against your lips. Your lips were met in a messy kiss; both of you needy for the other’s touch. He grabbed at the back of your thighs, hiking one of your legs up to wrap around him.
“I can tell” you muttered, feeling his already-hard cock pressed up against your thigh. He jutted his hips into your own, desperate for some friction.
He let out a low groan as you tugged on his hair. He cupped your ass, pressing your body against his. You could feel the pressure building in your abdomen; your arousal pooling between your thighs. “Need you so bad, sweetheart” he begged for his release.
You spun him around and sunk to your knees. His mouth watered at the sight of you looking up at him through your eyelashes. You slowly started to undo his belt and then unzipped his pants. You tugged down his boxers, and his cock sprung free, leaking with precum.
You started slow, licking a stripe up his length. He threw his head back against the door as you repeated the action. “Fuck, honey” he moaned, breathlessly. You put his tip in your mouth, and ran your tongue around him. The salty taste overwhelmed your tastebuds.
You took in more of him, while massaging his balls with your hand. “You’re doin’ so good, fuck—right there” he moaned out. His hand found itself in your hair. He bobbed your head up and down.
“Feel so good—your pretty mouth wrapped around my cock” he moaned at the sight of you. You could feel his cock throbbing inside your mouth.
The tip of his cock brushed up against the back of your mouth. You swirled your tongue around his length. “I’m gonna—” he mumbled, before shooting his seed into your mouth. You swallowed and pulled your mouth off of him with a popping sound.
He grabbed your hand and tugged you towards his bedroom. “Let me repay you, sweetheart” he said, his eyes dark with lust. He tugged off the rest of his clothes and then moved to you. He unzipped your dress at a painstakingly slow pace. You shrugged it off your shoulders, letting it pool at your ankles.
He grabbed your hips and pulled you towards him. He laid down on the bed, pulling you with him. “You want to sit on my face, sweetheart?” He asked, and your stomach did a flip. You nodded, shyly.
He beckoned you closer to him. “Bet you taste so good” he said, kissing you. He pulled down your panties, letting you kick them off. Then, you positioned yourself over his head, holding onto the headboard.
He gripped your thighs and pulled you closer to him. With no warning, he licked a stripe through your folds. You tightened your grip on the headboard as a wave of pleasure ran through your body.
His tongue expertly drew figure eights. “Fuck, Chris” you moaned. He buried his face in between your legs. “I was right. You taste so good” he muttered.
He lightly sucked on your clit. “Right there—God” you mumbled, breathlessly. His tongue dove into your folds, his nose brushing up against your clit. You began to grind down on his face.
“That’s it, sweetheart” he praised, speeding up his pace. Your knuckles turned white as you clenched onto the headboard. You rocked your hips against his face. “I’m getting close” you said, feeling your approaching orgasm.
His beard scratched against the inside of your thighs, giving you the friction you craved. He mumbled words of praises, the vibrations going straight to your core. You continued to rock your hips, the coil in your stomach tightening.
He grabbed your thighs and pulled you even closer to his face, his tongue reaching deeper inside of you. “You gonna cum all over my face?” he asked, beginning to suck on your clit again.
The tight coil snapped as your orgasm washed over you. You continued to suck on your clit, making you squirm above him. He lapped up your juices and peppered kisses on the inside of your thighs.
You rolled off of him, and he met your lips with a kiss. You could taste yourself on his lips. “You did so good, honey” he said, smiling into the kiss.
His hands slipped behind your back and quickly unclasped your bra, letting it fall to the floor. “So gorgeous” he mumbled, massaging your breasts with his hands. You closed your eyes, trying to recover from your orgasm.
You felt something cold and wet. You opened your eyes and saw Chris sucking on one of your nipples, his tongue swirling around the hardened peak.
“Chris...I need you” you whined. He picked his head up to look at you, before crawling on top of your body. “Where do you need me, sweetheart?” He asked, brushing a piece of hair out of your face.
“Inside me—fuck. Please just fuck me” you begged him. He smirked to himself before kissing you again.
He gripped your hips and lined himself up. “Hurry up” you pleaded. He wore a cocky grin. You had waited years for this moment, and you didn’t think you could wait any longer. “So needy, baby” he said, before pushing his length into you.
He was much bigger than anyone you’d ever been with. “Shit—you’re so big” you moaned, adjusting to his size. He slowly pulled out and then thrusted into you again. “You’re so tight” he groaned, as he slowly pushed himself all the way inside of you. He lightly brushed up against your g-spot.
Once you adjusted to his length, he began to thrust in and out of you. You wrapped your legs around his waist, letting him reach even deeper inside of you.
The sounds of soft groans and your skin slapping against Chris’ filled the room. You pulled his face towards you and kissed him. He moaned into your mouth, loving the way you felt around him.
“Am I filling you up good, honey?” He asked, pounding into you. You were a whimpering mess under him. “Yes—fuck, so good” you moaned, biting down on your lip.
You balled the sheets up in your hands as you got closer and closer to your peak. With a new determination, he sped up his pace. “Almost there” he muttered. Your eyes rolled back as he repeatedly hit your g-spot. “Look at me. I want to watch you fall apart” he told you, prompting you to open your eyes.
His fingers found your clit and drew tight circles. Your walls clenched down on his cock. You could feel him twitch inside of you, and then felt him cum.
“You can do it, sweetheart” he said, continuing to push into you. With that, your orgasm washed over you. He slowed his pace as he felt your pussy pulsing around him. You both breathed heavily as you came down from your highs.
He rolled off of you and laid there speechless. You propped yourself up on your elbows and looked over at him. “That was...wow” he said, cupping your face and pulling you in for a kiss.
He wrapped his arm around your shoulders, pulling you into his side. “I’m really glad that I ran into you tonight” he whispered in your ear. You nodded your head, agreeing with him.
“Imagine telling our high school selves that this would happen” you said, softly giggling to yourself. You felt his chest shake as he laughed. “I think I would have lost my mind. I never would have believed that I’d end up with the girl of my dreams” he said, beaming down at you.
“Well I never would have believed that one of the most popular boys at school liked me back” you said, drawing shapes on his chest.
“Yeah, we’re both pretty lucky” he said, kissing your temple.

Summary: you decide to do your first red carpet together
TWO YEARS LATER
Waking up, you didn’t feel rested in the least. Traveling always wears you out and going between different time zones makes you confused enough to take at least a day to sleep and get back to normal.
Nonetheless, you were happy to be back in Boston, but extremely irritated to be waking up alone. Not even having Dodger in bed to keep you warm must have been what woke you up. Knowing you wouldn’t be able to get back to sleep easily, you decided to start your day, even though you had no idea if it was closer to dawn or dusk.
Assuming Chris and Dodger were out for a walk you headed to the kitchen to make coffee, only to hear him in his office, apparently talking on the phone. You were too tired to look up when you heard him enter the kitchen, “ok, I’ll discuss it with her and call you back.”
That statement alone made you tense up, your brain was not in the mood to discuss anything and you scrunched up your nose at Chris as he made his way over to you.
“I take it by the look on your face that you aren’t ready for a conversation at the moment?” He kisses your head and hands you your coffee.
“That all depends on who you were talking to. There is a very small list of people I can tolerate at the moment, and you and Dodge occupy the top 2 spots” kissing him back and then bending down to scratch Dodgers head.
“That was Megan” he tentatively eyes you, awaiting your response, only to be greeted by your rolling eyes.
“Oh she is definitely not on that list” you mumble into your mug taking a bigger sip. Why was this how your vacation ended, with a call from his publicist about something that involves you, it can’t be a good thing. Chris chuckles at your reaction before pulling you into him and nuzzling into your neck.
“Tell me when it’s safe” You only hum in response and continue with your focus on your coffee. Pouring another cup, Chris somehow navigates you to the patio, knowing the sunshine and fresh air will perk you up faster.
“So, how urgent is this discussion? Can it wait? We just got home” you pout at him, making him chuckle again.
“Well, it’s something she wants to address quickly, she asked for us to get back to her within the hour on how to proceed” he looks to you hoping to see an acknowledgement to continue, but knowing it's best not to press you when you are tired. That statement alone confused you, normally things she brought to you weren’t that urgent, you figured at the end of the day, since that was the norm, but this must have been big.
“Ugh, what happened?” you rub your hands over your face, bracing yourself for what you weren’t even sure for.
“Well, there are pictures” your head immediately shot in his direction and eyes widened. “Not those kinds of pictures” he quickly responded based on your reaction. You relaxed a little but still felt on edge.
When he realized you were listening and not freaking out he continued, “the pictures are from the airport yesterday” You automatically rolled your eyes.
The two of you had been photographed so much over the last few years that the media had figured out who you were and there were plenty of stories discussing your relationship, however, the two of you decided not to discuss it or make any sort of statement. Your relationship was yours, it was no one else’s business and you had intended to keep it that way for as long as you could, but apparently that was coming to an end.
Sighing you looked at him “why now? We’ve been photographed together plenty, what could possibly be so damning about these pictures? I didn’t even hold your hand at the airport….” thinking back to yesterday, you couldn’t remember anything that would cause Megan to need to jump in.
The smirk on Chris’ face should have been a dead giveaway, but he felt like torturing you and pulling up the photos to show you.
“Well, outside the airport you didn’t hold my hand” clearing his throat he handed you his phone “but inside the airport, you were very handsy”
Groaning immediately when you saw the first picture, you wanted to go back to bed and try to start the day over. After having such a nice, romantic trip, you were thrown back into the social media shit storm, the very reason you spent the last 2 weeks in Europe avoiding all of this.
“This is so unfair, I look like I’m molesting you” you whine as you flip through the pics. “Ugh, you need a longer coat….if you had a longer coat no one would see my hands all over you” you grumble as you look at the next picture.
“See, your hands are hidden by my coat! And you were not as innocent as you look!” Chris just chuckles at your response as you hand him back his phone.
“So what does Megan want us to do?” finishing off your second cup of coffee and knowing you need something stronger to get through all this mayhem.
“She offered some suggestions, but I told her we would talk it out and make the final decision on how this is handled.” You could almost cry at his response. He knew it was difficult for you to let someone dictate how you should behave in your relationship, as far as the public was concerned, because it wasn’t your choice to be in the spotlight.
Chris had been protecting you as much as possible since you started dating and it always seemed to become more and more difficult, but he always made more and more effort. He was your knight in shining armor. You smiled at him before leaning over, kissing him and settling yourself in his lap.
A few minutes of content silence was apparently what you needed to make a suggestion that might work and should make Megan happy. But who knows, she never seemed truly happy with anything you did, you seemed to be just another obstacle for her since Chris introduced you.
Naively, you thought the two of you could be friends, she worked with Chris a lot, attending red carpets to make sure everything ran smoothly. Most of the time, you didn’t attend together, if you went at all, at least not as far as the public knew.
However, Megan only saw you as a client, or an extension of her client and rarely even smiled in your direction. Finally realizing you wouldn’t be friends, since you actually created more work for her, you decided that you didn’t actually care if what you decided made her happy or not, you just didn’t want to make her mad at you.
“I can practically hear your brain running, do you know what you want to do about this or are you writing your next novel right now?” You chuckle at him, knowing this wouldn’t be the first time the two of you were spending quiet time together, just for your brain to throw ideas out and you desperately needed to capture before they were gone.
“You know me too well. So, you know how I feel about releasing a statement, I don’t think I should need to declare to the world who I’m sleeping with” you shrug and continue. “What if we didn’t make a formal statement, but you come as my date to your next red carpet? I know it’s not something we’ve wanted in the past, but we are forced to address it now” you pout at Chris trying your best to guilt him into agreeing, knowing full well he would do whatever you asked.
“So we just show up and look amazing and people can figure it out on their own?” he questions you but agreeing with you at the same time.
Shrugging you look at him “I don’t know, this is new for me. I’m not used to the red carpet like you, Mr. Movie Star”
Deciding to start your day officially, even though it was late afternoon at this point, you grabbed your phone and headed to the shower while Chris called Megan back. You were tempted to check the notifications coming in since you had ignored your phone all day, but when you saw how many there were, you knew you needed to be in the right state of mind, so you selected your favorite playlist and ignored your responsibilities until you were really ready to take it head on.
By the time you emerged from your bedroom, Chris was in the kitchen cooking. You couldn’t help but stand in the doorway to admire him, not only was he strong and handsome, but he was so sweet and giving, and he was by far the best thing that’s ever happened to you.
A clearing of his throat brought you out of your little day dream, and by the smirk on his face, he had caught you staring at his ass. Sitting down next to him, you set your phone on the table and started to dig in.
“Have you checked those yet?” he noticed your phone still on silent but buzzing every minute or so. Shaking your head you continued eating and smiling at him, “figured it could wait until I’m fully awake. I’m assuming most are my brothers making snide comments about our public display, they can wait”
By the time the two of you settled on the couch after eating, you weren’t in the mood to check notifications, you just wanted to relax with Chris and dodger and maybe watch a movie. Of course that was immediately interrupted by Megan’s call to get an update on what we had decided to move forward on the airport photos.
Taking another look at the pictures again, you were disappointed that iPhones cameras were getting so much better. A few years ago, cell phone pics from that distance would be too grainy for anyone to share with a company like TMZ or PageSix, but now, the pics were clear and there was no doubt that your hands were full of Chris’ very firm ass.
Bringing yourself back into the conversation, Chris is smiling so Megan must have agreed to your idea, maybe she doesn't hate you as much as you assumed she did.
“Since the Oscars are right around the corner, and there is quite the buzz about your screenplay being nominated, Megan thinks that’s the best option. And since you’re a nominee, I’ll be happy to be your plus one” he pulls you into a kiss and you can’t help but laugh.
“Babe, I can bet you that I won’t be nominated, this is my first screenplay” you appreciate his support and encouragement but the number of amazing films that were released last year, there’s no way you are even a possibility.
"Well, we'll see soon won't we? Nominations are announced next week, either way, you need a dress!" he looked excited about that more than you expected. You did the red carpet for your film but the Sundance Film Festival did not have the same dress code as the Oscars.
Not sure where to start, you texted Sophie, she had become a red carpet expert since marrying Benedict, even pregnant she looked amazing and you knew you could trust her.
When the Oscar nominations were announced you were stunned, in shock and at a loss for words. Not only were you nominated for Best Original Screenplay, but Scott received a nomination for his role in your film as Best Supporting Actor. After many congratulatory phone calls, you and Chris decided to head to LA as soon as possible to get the wardrobe figured out for your first red carpet appearance together.
You were practically vibrating by the time you touched down at LAX, the whole experience had been a whirlwind causing you to not have a decent night's sleep all week. The copious amounts of caffeine you have been consuming along with your anxiety has made you a bit over the top, and of course, Chris just found the whole situation amusing.
Not knowing what to expect when you landed at LAX and the decision to accompany each other on the red carpet, you decided to act as you normally would when traveling together, minus the inappropriate groping that you were caught with just two weeks earlier. You each grabbed your bags, but as you attempted to move at your own pace, Chris was determined to hold your hand as you made your way through the airport.
Sighing since you knew there was no way for you to win against him, you try not to smile but just his simple touch makes you happy. Even with the amount of paparazzi in the airport and waiting outside, the two of you were able to make it through in record time.
Arriving at Chris’ LA house took longer than it should, the traffic was always terrible. He peaked at you as you huffed, “are you alright? You seem rather agitated.”
“This whole trip is making me anxious, but I realize I do not miss LA traffic at all, ugh, I’m not sure how I stayed here as long as I did”
“Well, I for one am very glad you left” Chris snuggled into your side and began kissing your neck.
“Oh Mr. Evans, you always know exactly what I need" leaning into his touch. By the time you made it to the house, you were less on edge but still a bit worked up, too in your head and trying to focus on one thing at a time in order to get through the day. Walking into the house you were immediately in awe, there was a path of rose petals from the entrance to the ensuite bathroom that took you completely by surprise.
At this point in your relationship you shouldn’t be surprised, he is always spoiling you in the most romantic ways, but the fact that this was waiting for you the moment you walked in, might just be the most impressive surprise to date.
Turning to him to figure out how he was able to do all this, he immediately shut down any questioning “you need to relax, we can unpack later, get in and enjoy” kissing you sweetly. “Only if you join me”
When you originally arrived in LA, you felt like the two weeks you had leading to the Oscars was plenty of time, but finding the right dress for your first red carpet together was daunting. Luckily the right dress found you just in time and you couldn’t be happier.
However, the day had arrived and you were more nervous and anxious than you had ever been. The thought of walking the red carpet with Chris for the first time shouldn’t be so scary but it was nerve racking.
The comments made about the two of you in the past when spotted together was speculation but now that you were confirming to the world that you were together officially, you weren’t sure you were ready for the backlash that you knew would come.
Thankfully, Scott showed up during hair and makeup, willing and able to keep you calm as much as possible, by the time you needed to leave, you were more happy and relaxed than you’d been all month.
“Oh, what would I do without you Evans boys, I love you both so much!” squeezing them into a group hug.
“Ok, so I may have given her too much champagne” Scott winced, looking at Chris apologetically.
Shaking his head as he pushed everyone out the door, “driver, we need to make a stop for some food on our way” You immediately perked up “ohhh, yesss…..In and Out burger, pretty please”
Arriving at the venue, the food definitely helped with sobering you up a bit, you were more tipsy now and ready to have a fun night. The moment you stepped out of the car, you had to take a deep breath and do your best to not run from all the flashing lights and name calling.
Megan found the two of you immediately and gave you a quick rundown, reminding you to stop every few feet for photos, and that she had only promised interviews with 4 news outlets, each only lasting 3-5 minutes.
Feeling Chris squeeze your hand, you looked up at him, “we got this” before pulling onto the carpet. All you could think was that if it wasn’t for Chris, his love and support, you wouldn’t be here now, so you put your best foot forward and walked proudly beside him down the carpet. Thankfully, Chris’ smile and poise was contagious and you felt like you had a good hold on the situation.
Your first interview was scheduled with E!News, they were usually positive so you weren’t worried that they might ask. “Welcome, wow, we have the very handsome Chris Evans and the lovely Y/N L/N here with us tonight, you too look fantastic together”
You both smiled and politely thanked the interviewer, you had no idea what her name was and at this point, did it really matter?
“It's great to see the two of you out together we weren’t sure what to make of the recent photos of the two of you, so give us the big scoop on this top secret relationship”
Even prepping for the day, you didn’t expect to have the question be so intrusive and you immediately became defensive, Chris had agreed to let you take the lead and divulge as much or as little as you felt comfortable with, so you jumped in immediately.
“I’m not sure top secret is accurate,” you chuckle, trying to keep things light, “we’ve been friends for years and have been photographed together in the past”
“Well, not quite like you were at the airport. But I can’t really blame you, he looks incredible as ever”
Was she flirting with him? In front of you?
“And he looks amazing tonight, are the two of you Hollywood’s newest hot couple?” You had to physically restrain yourself from scrunching your nose in disgust.
“Well, our friendship has nothing to do with how he looks, he’s more than a pretty face” you smile at her, but there is no humor in your comment.
You had seen interviewers making sexist comments in the past, mainly towards females, but you had never experienced anything like this and you were absolutely appalled.
At this point Chris pulled you in a bit closer, hoping to calm you a bit, but the interviewer decided to keep pushing, hoping to get the big scoop.
“Everyone can agree that those photos are more than friends” she smirked at Chris before looking back at you for a response.
“Honestly, I was trying to help him find his cell phone. Oh look at that, we need to move on, thanks bye” before turning and dragging Chris down the carpet.
He immediately started chuckling before whispering in your ear “that might be the hottest thing I’ve ever seen, you’ve never been so possessive, I love it” Letting out a sigh of relief, you were concerned he would be upset with how you handled yourself, but apparently your response had the opposite effect.
The rest of the interviews were less invasive and were over rather quickly. Megan seemed to have a smirk on her face, and you wondered if she was impressed or just satisfied no one got hurt.
Making your way into the auditorium and finding your seats, you were surprised how close you were to the stage, but remembered the several chivalrous acts that Chris seemed to show off and decided to tease him a bit.
“So I have a bet with my brothers on how many ladies you will be escorting to the stage, make me proud” you patted his arm as you sat.
He immediately started laughing at you, “alright, how many?”
“Oh, I can’t tell you that, that would be cheating” you smirked at him before winking and trying to take deep breaths to calm your nerves.
The laughter from Jimmy Fallon’s opening monologue aided in you relaxing and enjoying the show.
Chris was presenting and looked incredible on stage, though it was a bit odd to have some random person plop down in his seat, even if you didn’t look at them at all, keeping your eyes on your man at every moment. Once Chris came back to sit next to you, you leaned in and whispered to him just how incredible that suit looks on him.
The two of you flirted with each other regularly, but there was something different tonight, maybe it was the tux or the need to defend him from the sexist comments made by the interviewer but you had never been more turned on, the fact that you were stuck in this auditorium for nearly 3 hours was not helping your situation at all.
“If this thing doesn’t end soon, I’ll be dragging you to the nearest bathroom to have my way with you” you whispered in his ear, trying your best to keep a straight face in case the cameras were on you.
“Your category is coming up, then we can sneak out of here” he winked and turned back towards the presenter, the anticipation of having your way with him soon was making you antsy.
“And now to present the award for Best Original Screenplay, Benedict Cumberbatch and Natalie Portman”
You were shocked that Benedict was presenting your category, you knew he was presenting, but he hasn't mentioned anything, turning to Chris to question, you knew but the smirk on his face that he had been keeping this a secret, you could only smile in return, especially since they had just mentioned your name and film.
Doing your best to smile and remain calm while Chris clapped enthusiastically, you waited to see who won. Not expecting your name to be called, you sat still for a moment when Ben practically shouted it into the mic.
Chris immediately stood, ushering you to the aisle so that you could make your way on stage, hugging you before you carefully walked up the steps.
Hugging Natalie briefly before Benedict practically tackled you, you were at a loss for words.
“Wow, um, being a writer I should have prepared something, but the nomination completely blind sided me, the thought of actually winning seemed ridiculous”
You went on remembering to congratulate the fellow nominees as well as thanking the producer, director, staff and cast for an amazing portrayal of your story.
“Lastly, I need to thank my husband for his amazing love and support, without whom I wouldn’t be standing here now. I love you Chris, thank you”
Turning to walk backstage, Benedict looked at you with wide eyes before you realized what you just said, “oh shit”
“hey could i request one where bucky and steve have lately been very short with the reader and eventually snap at reader when they’re stressed about something and before they get a chance to make up, she goes on a mission to clear her head and put some space between them, which ends up taking a turn for the worst and she comes really close to dying?” - anonymous
“heyy i saw your last stucky x reader story and it was amazing! could i request another one where the reader almost died on the mission but doesn't seem to be bothered by it, but steve and bucky are a fuming mess and go off on her (which she fights back) but eventually causing her to snap and breakdown?” - anonymous
The sound of your soft footsteps bounced off the walls of the empty hallway. The compound seemed abandoned today, as opposed to it’s normally hectic environment. There was always a mission going on or work to be done.
Not today.
You passed by the briefing room and saw Steve and Bucky sitting at the long sleek table. The table was littered with files, newspaper clippings, and countless empty coffee cups.
Being their girlfriend, you knew that they had had something on their minds for the past few weeks. You always knew when something was taking their focus. They would spend all day in that briefing room until they were falling asleep in their seats.
You noticed the stressed looks on both of their faces. You swung the door open and entered the room. Neither of them looked up to greet you.
“Hey, you two” you said, slowly walking towards the table. Their faces remained emotionless. You knew they weren’t trying to be rude, but sometimes they paid more attention to work than to you. “What do you need?” Steve asked, coldly. His eyes never moved up from the mission report in front of him. It was like you were invisible to them.
You held back from letting your emotions get the best of you. “You both seem really exhausted. Why won’t don’t I take you both out for lunch?” You asked, moving to stand behind Steve. You leaned against the back of his chair, reaching your hands over his shoulders and caressing his chest.
You were worried that they were overworking themselves. They may have been super soldiers, but they were still human. You knew they needed a break.
“Can’t you see we’re kind of busy?” Bucky snapped. He finally looked up at you, but it was with an annoyed expression. You huffed to yourself before storming out of the room.
They had been like this for too long. It had been three weeks of hell with them acting distant. You had had enough. You understood that their work was important, but so were you.
You marched into the lab where Tony and Bruce were running various tests. Their eyes both went wide as they saw the anger in your eyes. “Tony, I want a mission” you commanded, crossing your arms.
You needed your own space to clear your head. You needed to focus on anything other than Steve and Bucky. You needed to get out of the compound.
“You want to talk first?” Bruce offered, trying to diffuse the situation. He knew to back off once you shook your head. “Nat is going on a mission. It’s pretty standard. She can fill you in on the jet” Tony told you. He knew better than to try and argue with you when you were angry.
Natasha was shocked when you asked to join her on the mission, but could tell from the look in your eyes that you were running from something. She didn’t push you, figuring you’d tell her if you wanted to.
The mission was pretty routine. It wasn’t anything you hadn’t done a thousand times before. It should have been easy, but you messed it up.
You thought going on a mission would help clear your head. In reality, you jeopardized the mission because your mind was only focused on Steve and Bucky.
You and Natasha had gotten cornered by one of the soldiers at the base you were infiltrating. He had cornered you both and had his gun aimed at your head. “You’re not going anywhere” he growled, as he radioed for backup.
Without any kind of thought, you lunged forward to talk the gun out of his hand. Your mind was racing, and you were reaching for the gun before your brain could even process that you were doing it.
You heard the loud bang of a gunshot as you tackled the soldier. Then, you heard another as Natasha shot the soldier. You saw the blood pooling near his stomach.
With your adrenaline high, you instantly turned to Natasha. “Are you okay? Where did he hit you?” You asked, looking up and down for any blood. You felt her hands grab onto your arms. “The bullet hit you, not me” she told you.
Your heart stopped. Your eyes rolled down to see the blood that was currently dripping from your side. You hadn’t even noticed in the heat of things. Natasha swooped her arm around your side, acting as your human crutch as you both ran towards the exit.
“Don’t you die on me. Rogers and Barnes will never forgive me” she said, trying to keep you from passing out. Your mind drifted to Steve and Bucky. You wondered if you’d ever see them again.
It became harder and harder for you to keep your eyes open. Just as your feet made it onto the metal floor of the jet, you felt your legs give out from below you. The only thought in your head was of Steve and Bucky. You wondered if they would ever hold you again as everything went black. “Stay with me” Natasha yelled, catching you before you could hit your head on the ground.
A banging sound echoed around your head, causing you to groan. As your eyes opened to find the source of the noise, you realized you were in the infirmary. The beeping sound was coming from the monitor beside you.
Then, you saw Steve and Bucky both sitting beside you. You saw the relief wash over them as your eyes opened. You wanted to share their relief, but you didn’t. You weren’t any less mad at them just because you had gotten hurt.
“How’re you feeling?” Bucky asked, reaching forward for your hand. You pulled it away before he could touch you. Instead, you crossed your arms. “I’m fine. It’s nothing” you dismissed, barely even looking at either of them.
Their concerned expressions changed within a matter of seconds. They went from worried to outraged. “It’s nothing? You almost fucking died, and you want to act like nothing happened?” Steve snapped, cocking his eyebrow at you. You remained silent, focusing on the wall in front of you and neither of them.
“Do you really not care? You were reckless. What were you thinking? You risked your own safety and Nat’s. It was stupid” Bucky criticized. You knew part of what he was saying was true, but that didn’t get them off the hook.
You began to unplug yourself from the monitoring equipment. “Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t realize you two were my parents. Don’t worry, I’ll come to you the next time I need someone to give me a lecture about my actions” you snapped back, heading for the door. They didn’t give up this time. They followed behind you.
You didn’t stop until you got to the empty living room. “Why are you still following me? I’m done talking to you both” you yelled. You were fed up with them.
“We are still having a conversation. Even if you decide to storm off because we called out for acting stupid” Steve snapped. He was practically dripping with rage. You couldn’t help but roll your eyes; it only made him more angry. “You almost got yourself killed. You should get suspended from missions until you learn how to keep your emotions in check” Bucky growled.
Their anger only increased when you laughed. You genuinely laughed. They were standing there as though they were in charge of you. “What the fuck is so funny to you?” Steve asked, throwing his hands up in the air.
You moved closer to him, getting in his face. “You are not in charge of me, and neither are you. You don’t get to walk around and act like you’re my boss. If you really think that that is how this works, then we should just break up” you said, shoving your finger into Steve’s chest before storming off to your room.
It wasn’t until later that night that you heard from them again. Around dinner time, there was a knock at your bedroom door. You knew it was them, but you answered the door anyway.
When you opened the door, you saw them both standing there with apologetic expressions. You crossed your arms. You weren’t going to let them off the hook that easy. “Can we come in?” Bucky asked, gently. You shrugged your shoulders before walking back over to your bed. They followed you inside and shut the door behind themselves.
“Honey, we’re really sorry” Steve said, holding his arms out to you. You ignored him, staying seated. They both knew it would take more than a half-assed apology to get you to forgive them. “We shouldn’t have yelled. We were just upset and worried about you. We never want to see you get hurt” Bucky said, sitting down beside you.
You didn’t respond for a minute. “You both should be sorry. It was your fault that I went on that mission anyway. You’ve both been dicks to me for three weeks. So, I went on the mission to clear my head, and I got hurt. You both couldn’t even act concerned. All you could was yell at me and tell me how stupid I was” you snapped back.
You could see the guilt in both of their faces. They knew they had screwed up, but they didn’t know how to fix it.
“I’m so sorry that we were jerks to you. We just got caught up in some work. It will never happen again” Steve said, sitting on your other side and kissing your cheek. “Can you forgive us, doll?” Bucky asked, reaching out to hold your hand.
“Fine, but you have to make it up to me” you said, looking between the both of them. You saw mischievous smirks on both of their faces. You slapped both of their arms. “I’m not talking about sex, you morons” you huffed, standing up from the bed. Both of their eyes went wide as they jumped up from your bed.
You noticed their urgent expressions. “I’ll order pizza from that Italian place you like” Steve said, rushing out of the room. You looked over at Bucky, who you could tell was still thinking. “And I’ll get dessert from that little bakery” he said, pecking your cheek before leaving as well.
You smiled contently to yourself as you relaxed back into your bed. They could be idiots sometimes, but you loved them.
They both showed up twenty minutes later with some of your favorite foods. You all ate while watching your favorite movie. They made sure to cuddle you throughout the movie.
“I love you both” you said, softly as you laid in their arms. They both smiled down at you before telling you they loved you too.
Later that night, they found another way to make it up to you.
