Adam Rothenberg as Reverend Matthew Deaver CASTLE ROCK SEASON 1 (2018)
“Henry, where'd you go?”
Castle Rock ep 7 Spoilers
I think it can be concluded that despite what happened in ep7 the kid definitely isn't Matthew Deaver. If he was Matthew, it wouldn't explain how he gave the Nazi guy cancer or just about anything else. The main theory that he's a conduit or amplifier of negative/evil energy of some sort still stands here. Ruth thinking that the kid is her husband is simply just the Alzheimer talking, but amplified via the kid. Manipulated in a certain way so that Alan ended up dead in the end.
Why did you leave me in the trunk, sheriff?
Ruth Deaver eye fucking the hot sheriff in front of her Reverend husband in the middle of church? Your faves could never.
The Kid
Is Matthew Deaver. That's why Ruth is so startled by him. That's why his face is all bandaged in Molly's visions. Nothing stays dead in that town. I believe he taught Ruth about the schisma, and that is why we find him fashioning figures out of wax. Henry had one too when he came back, perhaps as a different version of himself. Ruth is able to keep track of the time periods via the chess figurines. Maybe, Matthew and Henry are able to track which version of themself came back - both being crafted in white.
The Kid obviously has issues with Pangborn, which would be understandable given that he left him in the trunk of Lacy's car. Additionally, he knows that Ruth and Pangborn had always essentially wanted to be together. He senses that now. There's a familiarity with the Kid in the house and how he relates to Henry. He easily finds comfort in the house... his house. He finds comfort in the woods. He knows the words of the Bible by heart. When he is watching the home video, he looks at Henry almost expectantly of Henry remembering what he was trying to do. That he was trying to "fix" Henry, to make him "perfect".
Ruth knew this. Hence why she said he's going to kill Henry by being out in the cold and him having a fever. I honestly believe that Ruth was the one to push Matthew because of what he was doing. Pangborn was there searching for Henry for her, but also to clear her name. That's when the looping started for her I believe.
Lacy was called to retrieve the Kid to make the timeline right and stop fluctuating, like that of Schrödinger. The raven falling dead cyclically. The bad bottled up. He is released 27 years after Henry is found to "fix" him now.
please tell me that the Kid isn’t actually Matthew Deaver.
I don’t mind him being bad guy, or even a devil. But Matthew is such an asshat.
He is abusive, deranged zealot and I can’t root for someone like that.
just give me a massive plot-twist next week
Matthew killed the fucking dog!
Damn the dog don’t even like that motherfucker!
