They did it again! These light choices are brilliant.
Mawin is shown first in the light of the birthday candles. It's a warm light with a little bit of the intimacy of sharing a happy event. It is the visual expression of his joy. He is celebrating the birthday of his friend and coworker. Then, on the second frame the birthday candles are no more and the room is darker as if it's anticipating the bad news Pheem is bringing. Finally, the lights of the room are switched on and that's a cold light which makes you know the truth will be out soon. During the whole time, Mawin keeps his smile... but even if he still ignores it, he will soon learn about the reconstruction of his department. So, even if he has a joyful smile, for us viewers, it feels like a sad smile. It feels like an oxymoron if and oxymoron could be shown without words.
No! He should stay and y'all should drink. Maybe explore each other's bodies.
Mawin truly is the only one who doesnt have blinders on in this whole mess 😂😂
Only boo is a masterpiece, and now Hi by my luck is also a masterpiece. SeaKeen, you will always be so dear to me 😭😭
I FINALLY WATCHED THE FINALE! And I WILL post that review I talked about soon, but first, a list of things I loved about the last episode:
1. The KohPheem fight outside the bar. Just every second leading up to it was impeccable. Ing dragging Jira out to watch? Jira being like "I'm not getting between this"? Ben walking out and immediately asking which side. MAWIN FINALLY MEETING AND GETTING HIS REVENGE ON KOH BY HYPING UP PHEEM. The utter cringefail nature of the actual fight. It is everything.
2. Mawin and Pheem. The fight scene but also the scene where Pheem looks at him exactly like 'cat that knows what it's doing before deliberately shoving a glass off the table' before picking up Jira's call. They have such excellent chemistry, especially with comedy.
3. ING!!!! MY WIFE MY QUEEN ING. She's everything I want and everything I want to be. I came out of this show in love with her actually. I adore how much of a foil she is to Jira. He may ignore all your advice but IM LISTENING!!!!
4. An incredibly rare instance of a last-minute timeskip that actually makes narrative sense! I'm impressed. Especially with how well the flashbacks to that one year period worked to lead up to Kohjira getting back together. They're such a mess.
5. The art THE ART!!!!! I hope Naisu Chirat gets to make all the art she wants for the rest of her life because it's EXCELENT and compelled me to go back to art myself after a long, long time. Love that she got a little cameo at Jira's exhibition!!
Ta-da.

what if all this time, mawin x ton is the endgame and ton's one day girlfriend routine is just him being comphet and being too dumb to know the existence of gay people.
