hey how wound you have written a x men cartoon if you got teh change?

I'm not sure, actually. I think I probably would've done something like X-Men Evolution, although I'd have had more focus on the o5 X-Men and stuff. I'd also only use The Phoenix Force as an evil entity or as a super temporary thing. I would never use it for years like the the comics did. Also, I'd ignore things like the Mojoverse, the Morlocks and Mister Sinister. They're too weird, and I don't like them.

Also, I kind of want to take Chris Claremont's original idea of Wolverine not actually being a mutant and play around with it. For me, I still think of Magneto and Professor X as among some of the first mutants. For long lived characters like Sabretooth and Wolverine, I'm very tempted to just assume they're the victims of genetic experimentation or something. I already basically always forgot those two were born with mutant powers, as all their stuff feels like it just came from weapon x. Also, I might not make mystique as old as she is in canon comics. I don't really think she needs to have been around in the 19th century. But besides that, I wouldn't change anything much about her.

So yeah, I'd probably keep everyone around school sge. I like the idea of things always being kind of school based for the X-Men. But beyond that, I'd only change a few characters in massive ways. Most things I want to do just involve omitting characters from the narrative, and that isn't too hard to do. But thank you for the ask. I think this helped me collect my thoughts somewhat.

March 23 Update

It’s been a while since I did a long form update on tumblr, so here you go!

Writing

Aalam’s route is 50K in and going strong! 💪🏾 I will definitely hit my 60K goal but the word count will expand in the second draft, as I have not written out all the choice branches.

Most of the choice branches are at least 300 words to both help set Terra’s personality the way you’d like it to be, and boost replayablity. ✨ I want to create the best roleplaying experience possible for the story!

There are about 70 choices in Aalam’s route right now 🫢, I don’t expect that to increase much with the remaining scenes. Many of the choices in Celestial Crowns are there to set the tone of a scene, though of course there are choices that increase a character’s points, or branch the story.

BGs

It looks like Stef will have time for 1 more background before the release of the demo! 🤗This one is the council room, and it’s featured in a lot of scenes. This means I can release more screenshots! There are some gems that take place in that scene I haven’t showed off because of the placeholder BG in there now.

Isn’t it beautiful? I love the purple of Lauté castle.

CGs

3 CGs were planned for the demo, and those are all complete! 🎉The full game is planned to have 18 CGs in this prologue section, so hopefully the Kickstarter will get funded so we can bring all of these great moments to life!

The CG artist is currently working on posters for the Kickstarter. Those won’t be revealed until May.

The trailer is nearly complete! I just saw the first draft from the video editor @foxdriftstudios​, and it’s gorgeous! We will be dropping the trailer at the beginning of April.

Conclusion & Next Steps

Everything is going according to plan 👍🏾 I hope to finish the first draft of Aalam’s route by the end of March and work on Sahi’s through April. I don’t want to do any editing or further drafts until all the routes are done, not only in the interest of time, but to make sure everything lines up in the overall story.

Just finished reading The day I picked up Dazai novels and they are definitely one of the most depressing stories I’ve ever read...

!!Spoilers under the cut!!

I’m just gonna list down some of my favourite parts (wanna draw some of them if I can)

Side A:

- The whole scene where Odasaku trying to prevent Dazai from escaping his house - Oda wraps him with bed sheet like a candy. How cute can you be...

- Oda nursing Dazai. Especially the one with him reading books to Dazai. All the same book that doesn’t have an ending lol (This really is some type of new torture ngl) Just imagining this make me smile like an idiot

- Dazai confidently saying he never lost in cards games and so Oda will never get to hear a single secret from him and yet 30 mins later, the passcode is........ (I laughed so hard here Dazai thats so embarrassing!!!! xDDD)

- Dazai trying to advise Oda by showing sign languages instead of talking to him when they are literally next to each other. Oda nodded and ask ‘What do you mean?’

- Oda persuades Dazai to escape together (gonna print out page 60 and 61 and stick on my wall they give me so many emotions)

- Ýou are not being honest - Oda to Dazai (My heart BURST)

- ‘Here lies Dazai, the man who never beats Oda Sakunosuke at poker’ FSKFSNV ODASAKU I love his humour 

- Dazai revealing the reason why he collapsed in front of Oda’s house before the battle starts. I can totally feel the tension here

- Now that I have guns on both of my hands, its not the time for a fight anymore. Its time to dance. - Im screaming so loud please...

- The whole bar scene. Them open up to each other, talking non-stop. Happily. Playing cards game. Happily.. I love Asagiri sensei’s writing describing how their conversation feels like. They are so pleasant and warm, and romantic..

- Dazai using ‘watashi’ instead of ‘boku’ for that one line. I know there’s a meaning in this but I don’t really understand what it is. Gonna do some research. 

- Dazai asking when will they gather/meet up again next time? and how Oda was taken aback by his question. 

 - Oda was the one to bring Dazai to bar Lupin and Dazai was the one to name Oda, Odasaku (knowing this make that scene from Beast hurts more)

- The way Dazai trying to hide his expression in quite some scenes.

Side B? I hate everything about side B

- The way its mirroring side A but this time their first meeting is not a happy one.. Dazai has to hide his face and couldn’t speak a word to Odasaku.. Beast Dazai couldn’t have those fun times with Odasaku :’( 

- Dazai watching Odasaku being beaten and reacted as if he was the one being tortured

- Dazai torturing scene and the lesson from him about human’s greatest fear is the fear toward their own imagination

- Odasaku’s flashback about the painting 

- Do you want to withdraw or have fun killing each other, I’m fine with both - by Odasaku. God....

- Train scene - I don’t want to talk about this (I bawled my eyes out reading this whole part) 

- Odasaku saying something important to him has been stolen and that he won’t forgive the one who stole it from him. Dazai trying hard to hide his expression listening to this help

Dazai wanted to talk to him but he can’t. He did everything for Odasaku. He knew what he is doing will make Odasaku hate him but he still did it. All for Odasaku.. All because he wants Odasaku to live. This is how much he cares for Odasaku im not okay.  

The last sentence and their story is forever scarred into my heart and soul.

In short, I love everything about these novels and I love Odazai even more now even though they give me nothing but depression. (Nah they give me everything including depression) Need to read the english translation to understand completely so that I can cry more.

Gonna read danzaisha novels soon to heal my broken heart. I love both Odazai and Fluri because of the same reason but at least Fluri have a happy story unlike Odazai tragic story.. Asagiri sensei really love to see us suffer...
