Monika Monday 16! Dress up as your Club President Day!
I've heard the MC in DDLC (hey, that rhymed, master poet here) gets some hate for saying the wrong things to Sayori when she tells him about her depression.
And yes, it is undoubtedly the incorrect things to be saying.
But at the same time, do any of us ever know the right thing to say in that situation? Or any other situation concerning serious things, like, say, the death of a loved one? And couple that with the MC kinda being a doofus, not the sharpest knife in the drawer, and well. No wonder he didn't know the right thing to say. He's no therapist, no psychologist, heck, not even someone who just likes learning about that stuff. He's just an Average Anime Loser.
But he genuinely cares about Sayori, his childhood friend. He's genuinely trying to help her. He's not perfect. But his heart is in the right place. He's always had that good heart. You can see the evidence of his goodness in all 3 routes.
He simply just didn't fully understand the situation. And thanks to Monika, never would.
Monika is another enormous thing to consider. Tbh, it likely wouldn't have mattered if MC said the absolute most perfect thing anyways. Monika likely would've just kept turning up the dial on Sayori's depression.
Hi.
hey, sayori, who's your friend?
okay guys. heres part five technically i think of the just silver au....... our nonbinary monarch from tmosth is gonna be mc🥹 i dont actually have a drawing so have this very professional image i made two minutes ago
Sad that MC from Doki Doki Literature Club isn’t considered to be his own character, I think there was a really missed opportunity to make a narrative about a guy being forced into the protagonist role and becoming a self insert that wouldn’t be explored really until Toby Fox’s Deltarune.
TLDR: Kris Dreemurr is what the MC of DDLC should have been.
Low effort Ddlc thing that I lowk hate but wanted to post cause I also like it idk???? 💔💔
Main Character
Why would you have a voice? You don't even have a name
Only a spectator, never the player
