Incorrect tokyorev quotes: McDonald's
McDonald's worker: Thighs or breast, sir?
Shinichiro: Hmmm... I prefer personality though...
McDonald's worker: Sir this is McDonald's.
Okay, so I work regularly at McDonalds doing back drive, which means I'm usually the one taking orders and money. This lady comes through the drive through and starts ordering.
She asks "Do you have your new Freezer flavor today?"
and I say "Yes, what size wouldĀ youĀ like that?" Apparently the lady did not hear me and asks again.
"Do you have your new Freezie flavor? Last time I was here you guys didn'tĀ have it."
I answer again. "Yes, what size wouldĀ youĀ like?"
The lady states, "I don't like your toneĀ of voice, can I speakĀ to a managerĀ or someoneĀ else?"
Now, I'm all by myself since the area where I work is separate from where the customers pick up their food. All the managers in the building are either busy in the office counting the morning tills or busy upfront bagging the food to hand to the frontdrive window. If I have to ask one of them to come back and help me it will mess up our current rhythm and cause all the other customers to have to wait because of this woman. No one is availableĀ to help me with this 'Karen'. So, I do the next best thing I can think of.
"Hi, I'ma sorry 'bout that. So y'all were asking 'bout our Freezie flavors, izat right?"
There is a moment of silence before the lady responds.
"Yes, thank you. That other girl just kept asking what size I wanted. I was asking if you guys had the new flavor, you didn't the last timeĀ I was here."
"Yea', we 'ave it. The flavor was probly in defrost mode the last time y'all dropped by. Did y'all want any particular size?"
"Yes, two smalls please. You are so muchĀ more pleasantĀ than that other girl."
"Thank y'all. That total is gonna come ta $10.35 at the first drive through window."
Guys, I just fooled someone in drive through that I was a completely different person just by ADDING AN ACCENT TO MY VOICE!! I SHIT YOU NOT!! She legitimately thought I wasĀ a differentĀ person that she called me 'that other girl's. This made me smile for the rest of my shift and not even dealingĀ with other rude people in drive through for the rest of the day could wipe it off.
Im working my shift as normal, then i go to fill the salt shaker again and the manager says āwait, that ones broken, Iāll get a new oneā and comes back w the cleanest shaker Iāve ever seen
Anyone on here work in food service?
So I work at a McDonald's, and today this lady comes in, 5 children, gets 6 solid meals. Complains over the pick up counter 3 times within the first 5 minutes of receiving the order that it's taking too long. At McDonald's (every one in Canada that I've been too anyway) we do table service. When you place your order at the counter you're given a big red stand with a number on it to place on your table so we can find you and bring you your stuff. Me being the only person assembling and presenting orders for lobby (meaning EVERYTHING that's not going thru the drive-thru) in the middle of a dinner rush was already overwhelmed and when I had finally finished this lady's order I had to take a co-worker, who was busy on drive-thru, to help me take out all the food. We walk around the store for a good 5 minutes (wasting my time because I'm the only one making orders for the people in the lobby) and this lady's like "why are you taking so long?? Thats all mine and you can't just give it to me?" So I say "do you have table locator number __? Because that's where this is going" and she looks at me like I'm stupid and says "I don't know what a locator is. Just give me it." I come back with "..the big red number? That's on the recipt in my hand? That tells me where I'm supposed to take this so I don't waste 10 minutes of my time walking around?" And she goes "well he (my boyfriend, putting in orders on the cash register) said something about it or something but I don't know." Meaning he gave it to her (as he does with every order that request table service because they can't stand and wait for their fucking food) and she didn't take it with her like she's supposed to do. So I go to the table, set the tray I'm carrying down (kiiinda hard as I'm stressed, but NOT hard enough to send anything flying) and go back behind the counter to work on all my orders. A few minutes later a manager grabs me and takes me to the office saying this lady told her I "THREW a tray full of fries on the table and now she needs free replacements for 4 mediums."
And THEN she comes back to my bf at the counter and asks for extra sauce (which we have to charge for), and starts yelling at him when he rings it up for her saying she shouldn't have to pay for anything because of my attitude. She told my manager she'll be contacting the head office to make a complaint about me. My manager gave the cunt and all 5 of her little shits free Ice cream and I got written up.
This rant is kinda pointless, but my point I guess is that if you're a fucking cunt, and you treat a clearly overwhelmed and overworked teenager working a shitty minimum wage job like shit, and then decide to throw a fucking fit when you're not treated like fucking royalty, then fuck you, asshole. We don't want to fucking serve you. We are fucking human beings and we deserve some fucking respect. If I lose my job for reciprocating attitude, and for not showing respect to someone treating me like dirt then fuck it. Fuck McDonald's. I'm not paid to take abuse from shit holes. I'm paid to make the food and get it to you. I think everyone working similar jobs will agree with me, and will agree that the people who come in and treat us nicely get great service from everyone. But fuck you if you expect patience and a smile while you fucking cause shit for no reason.
McDonaldās has some kinda spell on it bc Iām never hungry for its food before or after my shifts (when Iāve left the building) but the entire time Iām there I have to resist the urge to order something, or order food to take home. I havenāt eaten there yet in the month Iāve worked so far but Iām going to crack one a these days
