Throwback Thursday. The picture on the left was taken at my sister's wedding in 2009. The pic on the right is current. Looking back at the photos taken of me during that wedding, I remember the feeling of awkwardness in my dress. At the time I was nitpicking on how large I felt all over. It was supposed to be a happy day but I was self conscious to notice. Today I feel much happier in my own skin as I work towards a stronger & healthier self. Society's mess
Oh, my darling, society did a number on you. Where you used to be so new and pure, you now corrupted and used. The smile you wear droops on your face, your glow no longer there. Society truly the best plastic surgeon of all, toying with you and making false promises. Its needle so thick and devious its punctures right through the heart. Convincing you to be someone your not. I just wish you could see that you were always beautiful to me. I'll pick you up when we fall and I'll be the one to wash off all the dirt. But first you have to look me in the mirror, show me what we've become. It's the only way you can let me in, and start to fix the mess society begged us to become.
