One easy prompt to reveal hidden emotions
▫️◾◻◾▫️
First, your body will NEVER allow you to hide your emotions.
At least, never entirely.
And no, there aren't really any exceptions, not even for a sociopath or a psychopath. Maybe you find this a little confusing, especially if you have something to hide, but in fact, knowing this, it might be interesting to know how to reveal the emotion that someone is trying to hide from you, isn't it?
Why can't we hide them entirely?
Your body is a magnificent being endowed with his own intelligence and at the same time an incredible machine that cannot be separated from your mind. That being said, to answer this question, we need to first define what an emotion is:
For exemple, when you're on a date with you loved one and your about to get his proposal, you find yourself feeling your heartbeat speed up, you feel that sensation in your belly as if thousands of butterflies flew inside. What else? Your body temperature will skyrocket for what we call here a "Fièvre de l'amour". These are not emotions, they all are sensations in reaction to what is about to happen.
You feel these "symptoms" that your nervous system hurry to report into your brain and this is where the brain analyzes the list of symptoms (the sensations) and makes its diagnosis: "Well dear, he or she is in love." That's an example because the diagnosis of the brain could be not be the same for everyone as we don't live or face the same life experiences. But this is a subject I will post later.
The fact is that emotions is a word, or a label, that your mind attributes to a set of sensations felt in your body. If you focus on making your emotion disappear by thinking that you just have to think about it very, very hard and force to display another emotion and think it will work, you are wrong, because your sensations are still there doing their magic.
In this way, your body will partially cover this emotion that you want to hide and here I'll show you how to detect and reveal the hidden emotions on the faces by a method known from all police investigators.
The two faces method
How does it works is a little complex, but to make it simple, we have two brain hemispheres, the left and the right. The left is more a calculating and logical part while the right side can be considered more emotional and sensitive. So we have the left which gives the order to remove all emotions which could arouse suspicion in the face of the police officers, but the right side which continues to feel the related sensations (and maybe some memories attached to these) cannot figure out. So we have a side that hides it, and another that will not do it well or not at all!
Choose a picture of yourself. One that you know you've been through difficult pain, emotions or bad news. You can use a picture of somebody else if you wish. Then use your thumb or a piece of paper large enough to cover the faces in the photo and cover only one side of the face in the picture. Observe the emotion, the expression. Is this side look really happy and smiling? Repeat by covering the other side of the same face and see the differences with the other side. Is there a side completely different from the other?
If not and both sides look completely the same, then the emotion in the face is not a façade.
Start with photos. More you practice, more you'll be able to detect asymmetries in faces, the easier it will be for you to reveal what is hidden and then you will could possibly practice on real faces in front of you.
Of course there is many other prompts to detect hidden emotion, but let's start today with this one.
