🏀one of my favorite warm ups is one that goes all the way back to my days as a GA at Indiana State. Basically taken straight from Kip this is one of our MB warm ups that we would do before upper body lifts. I’m a big fan of it for a total body warm up with a ton of mobility and “core” work. The routine is done with one set of 20 of each exercise (yeah it was meant to be, this was from 2002). The routine is as follows 1️⃣Tick-Tock: Reach Completely Over Head. Reach the ball one way and your hips the other. 2️⃣Good Morning: Holding the ball behind your neck, keep you knees soft and push your hips back and your nose forward. 3️⃣Standing Twist: Holding the ball with your arms extended out in front of you rotate to the side as far as possible 4️⃣ Vertical Chop: Start with the ball over your head with your arms straight. Push your hips back and chop through your knees. Once you feel a stretch, reach back up over your head as high as possible. 5️⃣Angel Chop: Start between your knees and reach up and over your right shoulder. Bring your "hip with you" and rotate to the side, looking up at the ball like a reverse lay up in basketball. 6️⃣ Squat Press Out: Start with the ball at your chest. Push your hips down and back sitting as low as you can while keeping your back flat. When you get to the "bottom" press the ball out in front of you. 7️⃣ Squat Press Up: Holding the ball at your chest push your hips down and back as low as you can while keeping a flat back. Drive your hips back up, and, while using your "leg drive" press the ball over your head. This is typically followed by some an work and extensive throws to get moving a bit. If there is interest in seeing any other parts of the warm up or any other variations of this that we have used let me know in the comments. #strengthandconditioning #strengthandconditioningcoach #medicineballworkout #sportsperformance #physicalpreparation #coachingeducation (at Tuckahoe, Virginia) https://www.instagram.com/p/CKHiavDMI8Q/?igshid=1x1aedj861v3q
