I’ve never played aside from lazily and badly hitting a ball over a net at school. But I’ve been to the Aus Open twice and I’ve watched a little on TV.

This was a really fun, fiery rivals to lovers sports romance with just a hint of a second chance in there. I’m really loving tennis romances lately so this was a must-read for me.

I’ll admit to not connecting fully with the characters or the romance in this one but I genuinely think that may have been a me problem. I set it aside when I was halfway through and came back to it and definitely enjoyed the second half a lot more than the first.

I really liked the way Ines and Chloe grew together, the way they made each other better, not just at tennis but in life, too. They were so great together and there were some truly beautiful scenes where the two of them opened themselves up to each other fully.

There were some really heavy topics in here and the media is absolutely ruthless at times and I appreciate that the author showed that side of fame and how much it can affect a person.

Overall this book definitely had more good than bad and I’m happy to have read it!
