@meinhiding has written some of my favorite Karedevil fics; she is so good at getting in depth with these characters, you feel every emotion they do in her fics. She is a beautiful writer (and person!) and I am so happy she is in the squad and I can call her a friend.
Some of my favorites:
Broken Pieces Matt surprises Karen with breakfast in bed and realizes while romantic it’s maybe not the most practical gesture. It’s so sweet and I absolutely love it.
One Month Matt and Karen celebrate their one month anniversary and give each other the perfect gifts (and Matt wraps his in devil baby wrapping paper)
However Far Away words cannot describe how much I love this one. They have their first big fight which leads to them talking about some pretty important things. And their make up is just perfect. Swoon.
A Hard Day’s Night I’m biased with this one, but oh, this fic. I love it so damn much. Matt and Karen watch The Princess Bride is pretty much all you need to know. It’s just...everything. And includes an amazing gifset by @lifeisjustalonelyhighway
A Kiss Goodnight early in their relationship, Matt and Karen have a very steamy night when he gets home from Daredevil-ing. So hot and sweet at the same time
You cannot go wrong with any fic by @meinhiding, so if you are not familiar with her stuff, please do yourself a huge favor.
Hi love! Could I ask for one of your amazing gifsets? I was thinking of Karedevil hugs or hands touching. You choose. Whatever you do, I know it'll be awesome.
Hey ❤ Lovely ideas, both of them! Thank you for sending them my way!
I’m sooo bad at choosing, especially when it comes to Karedevil, but I went with hugs for this one (although I can see myself gladly doing a hands gifset in the -I hope near- future). In the meantime, here’s a gifset I’ve made a while back about Matt touching Karen’s hand/arm.
Karedevil Week: Day 2 • Love (late!) - requested by meinhiding -- First moment I started shipping Matt/Karen
Here is the second half of the asks for @meinhiding and @lifeisjustalonelyhighway
I guess this counts for free day? List 5 #21: What’s the thing they miss the most about each other?
(I took a meta/head cannon approach to this.)
And oh boy, wow. Well...
Matt misses her scent first, what used to be like a calming and pleasing background noise in his everyday life, something which anchored him. Not having it in his periphery because she isn’t around after the Punisher trial means that he is somehow off balance. Not as relaxed. He misses her laugh next, so melodic and bright and guaranteed to raise his mood, and because it usually accompanied her wicked sense of humor to match his.
But mostly, he misses being able to be open with her and have a real conversation. Before the trial, she had been so quick to share her positive attitude and her seemingly similar beliefs about justice. It had been so nice having someone who inherently believed in and supported him and what he was trying to do as Daredevil, even if she hadn’t known that was what she was doing at the time. But as soon as he tells her that it’s him, all of that changes. But she never tells him why.
Hell, she barely tells him anything as to her reaction. He understands needing space to process, but by the time everything’s happening at Midland Circle, he still doesn’t have a good understanding of what she is feeling. So even in the very rare instance in which they still spend time together after the big reveal, there is still such tension, so many things unspoken and he wishes she would just say what she really thinks, what is really on her mind. She doesn’t seem to get it anymore, doesn’t appear to support the idea of Daredevil when she knows that it’s Matt wearing the mask, but she confuses him when she tells him that the city was better off for what he’d done. He misses believing that she’d be on his side, misses feeling understood by someone who he would have thought would understand.
Karen… well, she arguably misses Matt more. At least in the end. Because he’s gone. Or she thinks he is.
But at first, after the firm dissolves, she misses his smile. He can be so charming and he’s so handsome anyway, and the sight of him grinning could make her weak in the knees, and she misses how happy she used to feel when he’d smile like that at her. Like she was his whole world.
And when he finally tells her who he is, she immediately misses the sense of security that she felt around him. Which is strange, because logically she knows that he can take care of himself - she’s had a front row seat to several examples of this as he’s saved her life - but for the first time she becomes painfully aware of how vulnerable it is for anyone to be a vigilante, and she can no longer reconcile the idea that it could be someone she knows and cares about, and possibly even loves, even if she can’t bring herself to acknowledge it out loud. She simply cannot see him get hurt, so she cannot support what he’s trying to do, and she can’t stop worrying about him every second that he’s wearing the mask.
And then when he’s gone, mostly she misses being able to get up in the morning without bloodshot eyes and an ocean of anguish and grief in her stomach … on the days she can force herself out of bed at all.
@meinhiding asked:
Hi love! IF, and only if, you have the time and energy (and no migraine) to do this: From List 4: "We went to a bar and yes I signed you up to sing karaoke can’t back out now." I know it's hard as hell but I want you to focus on happy thoughts, even if you don't write them, ok? Can't you imagine Foggy doing this? Karen excited when she hears the beginning of that song from her favourite musical? Matt watching her sing with heart eyes? Even reluctantly joining them after all? Do this, or I will.
Thanks for thinking of me and my need for happy thoughts, beautiful. I really want to answer this in the right way, but unfortunately, I’ve already written a Karaoke scene and I can’t think past those songs and I don’t want to dissect the story I might never post (yeah, it makes no sense.) So, I don’t think this counts, but maybe it kind of does? No matter what @meinhiding I would love to see a non-au version of this from you that fits into our Daredevilverse (like I said, this doesn’t really count). So please please write one!
micro-fic challenge!
@mcu-heroes, you have inspired me. I’m starting a new thread for this, but it’s in response to what you said here, that you would be happy to read even a 30-word text about Matt and Karen kissing.
I love the idea of micro-fics about Karedevil kisses, so I decided to try writing some. And I want to encourage other Karedevil writers to try it, too, if you want to! No need to worry about plot, just tiny stories about kisses! @meinhiding, @murdocklovespage, @irelandhoneybee, @mcu-heroes, and anyone else who wants to, I’d love to see what you come up with, if you want to give it a try.
It doesn’t have to be just 30 words, though, because that is really short. I tried, and it’s hard! I wrote several little things, and they’re almost all 70-100 words. The point here is to get the creative juices flowing, not to enforce a strict word limit, so use as many words as you need.
Here’s the one I managed that is actually 30 words:
* * *
Karen’s heart pounded with anticipation as Matt cupped her cheek in one hand. It had been so long, as his lips brushed hers it felt almost like the first time.
* * *
And here’s one of my longer ones, a different take on the same idea—their first kiss after Matt comes back and they are reunited:
* * *
“Karen,” he whispered, hearing the ache of longing in his own voice, his senses taking fire as she stroked his cheek. “Are you sure this is what you want, after everything I’ve done?”
She pressed her forehead to his, her arms sliding around his neck. “I thought I’d lost you,” she murmured. “Now that I’ve got you back…it doesn’t mean the past doesn’t matter. It does. But I’d rather work through our problems than go on living without you. I want this. I’m sure.”
She kissed him, gentle and warm, and he finally allowed himself to hope, wrapping his arms around her and holding her close.
* * *
Here’s what else I’ve got so far:
* * *
“Should a vigilante be fraternizing with the press?” Karen teased as they lay in bed, Matt’s lips tracing a line of kisses along her jawline and down the column of her throat.
He grinned. “Should a journalist be fraternizing with the subject of her latest article in the highly respected New York Bulletin?” he countered.
“Hmmm. It sounds terribly unprofessional, doesn’t it?” She sighed contentedly as he trailed more kisses along her collarbone.
“I’m afraid so,” he murmured, tipping his head up so he could kiss her lips.
* * *
Matt could hear the pounding of her heart. He could smell her fear.
“Karen,” he said urgently, “I have to do this.”
“I know,” she said firmly, the tiny tremor in her voice nearly undetectable. “I know. The city needs you.” She pulled him into her arms, hugging him tightly for a moment, then pressed her lips to his in a fervent kiss.
“Just come back in one piece,” she whispered.
“I will,” he promised, leaning in to return both the kiss and the hug, before he turned away and rushed out the door.
* * *
Matt stuck his head into Karen’s office, a wide smile on his face.
“What happened?” she demanded, standing up and pulling him inside. She had wanted to be there today at the courthouse, but Matt’s latest case wasn’t her story, and looming deadlines had tied her to her desk.
“Not guilty on all charges,” he said with great satisfaction, sweeping her into his arms and kissing her soundly. “I know you have to work,” he went on, “But if I bring you take-out, will you have dinner with me?”
“I’d love to,” she said, smiling and kissing him back. “Congratulations, Mister Murdock.”

I’m sorry but I’m too angry and tired to spend my time explaining this.
don’t worry, i did it myself. can you imagine going to a post with 20-30 notes just to basically mock the victim in the fucking face?
