So, my Mephy was dared by his daughter Crystal to do an UwU in front of his husband, and this dumbass motherfucker decided to pull in @jadedazemations Mephy and had him do a Nya in front of Neo at the same time so he didn't look stupid by himself.
Not only did this set off Doom's overpossessive rage and his alien instincts off full force, but Neo might have gone and fried himself by accident. He ended up fine btw, but the Mephies did NOT.
I think I'm figuring out Neo's spikes btw, it was much easier to draw them this time and he ended up being so cute XDDDD as well as the Mephies themselves but they're always cute. And drawing Doom being a feral possessive freak is always fun, he's got his secret lil dark side to him that i love~ Comes with the territory of being Black Arms royal blood, sometimes your mate is just too cute and you're standing next to someone who is with him in another reality and yanno, sometimes you see red, it happens~ dw he didn't attack Neo, Neo was not harmed, but uh... Doom's husband was definitely mauled moments later XDDDDD

K, so, lore~ warning, mentioned Janice activities and also so much timeline talk, it might be a bit confusing i apologize XDDDDD i have the timelines on my Deviantart if you wanna catch up (just be cautious if you do go on there), or you can ask me about it, you guys know i don't mind XDDDDDD
In the Cult timeline, Mephiles has a cult (duh~). One he's been in control of all the way back before the events of King Arthur. He allowed Arthur's bloodline to continue, specifically to allow for Sonic to one day exist, before having Arthur killed by Mephy's granddaughter, Topaz. The numerous sacrifices by Mephiles and his family has given them all extended immortality by the void itself, where they're technically 'disconnected' from time, yet still being within the bounds of the timeline.
Through the generations, he's been in and out of his own time, looking in on the future for brief moments, too brief for new timelines to occur, yet coming back without much thought or care, which led to unintentional loss of several millenia for him. It was mostly to check up on where Elise and Iblis would end up so he knew what to prepare for to get Iblis back, and also to check to see when Black Doom would come back and what was intended to happen so he could avoid it.
Oh yeah he also just... straight up kills Eggman, at some point??? Yeah that happens oops. Eggman posed too much of a risk as he's way too unpredictable and has literally fucked up with Dark Gaia in multiple timelines just to create an amusement park, along with other things, and Mephiles has a custom tailored timeline to keep in order so he couldn't have Eggy fucking it all up.
Another thing he doesn't do, is commit 06. Yep that never happens. Cult Mephiles is one of the few Mephies who can see into time and space and into other timelines. It's part of the timelines being genetically different from one another. So he knows about all of his counterparts that have ended up in awful situations by their own doing.
That means he also knows about those that have ended up with Black Doom and why, and how happy and safe he made them.
As a result of having all this information readily available to him, Mephy stayed with Janice long enough to have Crys, and then left with their daughter. He also reached into a different timeline to grab a copy of their Infinite after seeing his potential, renamed him to Locke, severed ties between him and Cyberspace, and by extension the End, and filled the now deactivated Phantom Ruby with his own influence instead and making him his second in command, inadvertently making Locke a simp. Despite how big and scary and powerful Mephy is now, he's still a twink, and other twinks don't interest him, but he told him if Crystal was interested in him after Lancelot's death, he could have her hand in marriage. (Lil bit of a spoiler, she was not interested.)
The entire goal Mephy had in mind, was for him and his family to persist into current day, meet his future husband, and get his twin back, without fucking up the same way the other Mephies had, and maintaining what he'd built. And he was successful.
Fast forward to when the cult catches up with present day, and 05 happens. Or, would have happened. Before Black Doom could spiral outta control after finding out about Gerald and Maria's deaths and Shadow's imprisonment, Mephiles got to him first. He talked Doom down, and bought the apartment Doom would have if he'd worked for G.U.N like most of the other Dooms, moving him in.
Because Doom didn't threaten the world, he was able to meet and bond with Shadow properly, and with Mephiles' help, suggested that Shadow take his place as the new king of the Black Arms, to protect humanity as Maria had wanted rather than destroy it, and managing to convince Shadow that he wasn't lying by coming clean about his relationship with Gerald amd proving it, and that Doom's intention was always for Shadow to cure Maria, because he'd wanted to make the love of his life happy, not use Shadow as a weapon.
Also, because Eggman is dead and Shadow's no longer in G.U.N, G.U.N got a hold of the Scepter of Darkness pretty easily. The original Mephiles of this timeline was stolen into a different timeline while being in G.U.N's vault by Eggman's fucking dad Julien of all people due to a hole in time and space (good job Mephy), and the one ruling the Cult timeline in his place, the one orchestrating this entire fucking thing, assumed this timeline's Iblis as his own brother, despite both of them knowing that their bond is incomplete and that Iblis can still feel HIS Mephy being tormented in another timeline, as Cult Mephiles is the wrong Mephiles and is actually from a different unformed timeline. The Mephiles that was kicked out of this timeline, is Subject, the Mephiles of the Hopeless timeline, a timeline that doesn't have its own natural Mephiles. I'll tell you guys about that one some other time~
Basically, Cult Mephiles is a fucking dumbass and he doomed one of his own counterparts in the pursuit in making the PERFECT timeline for himself, and because of it, the timeline is pretty fucking unstable actually, so things can just... happen, that would NEVER happen to any other timeline.
Back to Doom, with Shadow now leaving G.U.N and ruling the Black Arms with Doom's guidance (he didn't need much though, Shadow ended up really being a natural at it), Black Doom was free to retire. He took on a more Mobian form for good, essentially not needing the facade of his more alien form any longer (yeah the mobian form is his real identity, tehee~ plot twist, he's not actually a gross alien monster or anything, he was born on Mobius, he's just a shapeshifter and can do that).
He usually spends his retirement at home reading or sleeping, or later on, spending time with his husband and their kids, as well as Eclipse and Iblis. Mephiles is a leader of a cult, the god of it, actually, so he gets home real late most times, at least in the beginning. Late for Doom btw is during the day, Doom falls asleep around sunrise, the Black Arms are extremely sensitive to sunlight from being adrift in the darkness of space for so long. Mephiles does his best to make it up to him and come home earlier when his husband starts scolding him for it, and sometimes he just stays home with him for days at a time. His cult has functioned fine without him for thousands of years before, they can stand a few days without him now.
Because Doom's now retired, he's gotten fluffier, put on some weight, and is more tired than he usually is. He thought he'd really like retirement, but a lot of the time he misses his kingdom, and will go up there just to 'help', only to get told 'go home, you need to rest, you look like you haven't slept in days, you're retired, enjoy it' by his former advisors. He's an old man, everyone's scared he'll poof into dust if he doesn't take it easy. If he met his counterparts he'd be so mad at how much more energy they have.
He only really gains more energy whenever Mephiles is home or his son visits him, and later when him and Mephy have kids of their own and Eclipse and Iblis are in the house he does end up feeling like his old self again, but at first the days drag on way too long and he's bored and lonely, he's also trapped in his head too much, which doesn't help. You could argue he's... kinda depressed, now that he doesn't have countless amounts of work to keep him busy.
Also in regards to Eclipse, yanno the bullshit with Death, Doom's twin brother? Yeah Shadow finds out about all of it and brings his twin home himself and drops him off at Doom's place. It still effects Doom a lot knowing what his other son went through and that he will never be able to bond with his own twin (Shadow actually killed the fucker this time, thank the void), but at the same time he's happy his missing and traumatized son is finally back home, safe and sound, and that Doom didn't have to find out first hand what had happened.
Also instead of bonding with Scar and finding out properly what a family is through him, Eclipse finds out with Iblis, his uncle in law. Mephiles loves and trusts Doom enough to let Iblis stay with him even when Mephy isn't home, which allows Eclipse to bond with him as they're pretty similar personality wise.
So, speaking on the MephDoom relationship itself, cause that's what we're all really here for i think.
Mephiles is like... mentally and physically 28-30? Normally the Mephies are like 25-ish, but Cult is a lot more mature and has grown into what he should have always been, and Doom is physically and mentally 50. He's very much a dilf, probably more than that.
Mephy knows a lot of Doom's hidden... issues. Like i said, he's done a lot of snooping into his counterpart's lives, and Doom's life. As he wasn't corrupted by Janice's death this time, he is able to tell Doom openly that he loves him, he doesn't hide his need for affection, he seeks it out regularly, which he knows Doom really does love and that his counterparts couldn't provide him with. He also regularly just does whatever Doom tells him to, leaves things up to him to decide, and doesn't argue with him if Doom scolds him for anything, nor does he start fights with him and he's very careful with his wording around him or how he carries himself compared to his counterparts. Doom figures maybe it's because he's older, and Mephiles deeply respects him because of it and would rather him be careful than push him, but he's not complaining either way, he's rather comfortable in their relationship.
Doom has a lot of trust issues, specifically regarding anyone making advances towards him, or him not being in control, and he has trouble reigning in how obsessed with his partner's wellbeing he is cause he doesn't want them to hurt just as much as he'd been. Other Mephies made it difficult for their Dooms to know when something was wrong, or in an extremely rare attempt to be more assertive due to guilt or boldness, made him uncomfortable on accident, this one has been working on his own self esteem and communication issues in private, long before Doom ever came back, specifically because he wanted for his future husband not to worry about any of that. He's an open book, eager to please, yet also eager to ease his beloved's concerns and make him as comfortable as possible. Him not staying with Janice long term also contributed to how relaxed he is in Doom's presence, the other Mephies were so badly affected by what happened with her, and even before that with the Solaris project, that they were afraid of saying 'no' after Janice's death, of taking care of themselves, of setting boundaries, yet would also self sabotage to try and get Doom to kick them out, as they felt too broken to be desired, which would always deeply upset Doom and make him work harder to prove his devotion. Cult Mephy has been a witness to much of that, and does his best never to let Doom see any toxic parts of himself. He's not 100% successful, he still has his crash out moments, but he does a great job 99% of the time.
In regards to the possessiveness between them. Doom never worked for G.U.N, and never got the chance to obsessively stalk Mephiles, so he isn't as weird about his attachment to him as other Dooms. He still worries for him and will frequently call him if he gets any sense that something's not right, but his Mephy is also bigger amd stronger than he is, and is the god of an entire cult, and has been for thousands and thousands of years, he trusts that he'll be okay most of the time.
Mephiles in most other timelines is quiet, shy, terrified to say how he feels, he depends on Doom for everything, and hates being surveilled. This Mephiles is elated when Doom calls him to check up on him, constantly wants Doom to join him on walks and outings, never wants to be alone, is so blatantly transparent that Doom sometimes thinks he has an oversharing problem yet still finds it cute (Mephiles is only like this around him, he runs a cult, he knows how to keep things hush hush most of the time), and Mephiles does everything he can to take care of Doom, feeling like he owes it to him, even though this Doom never got the chance to care of him the way other Dooms took care of their Mephies, but just having seen other versions of him doing that has him wanting to pay his husband back. Mephy has multiple heaters in the house in easily accessible places just in case, he installed the metal shutters onto the windows himself, he keeps the thermostat high, he constantly bombards Doom with random gifts to make proper nests out of (blankets, pillows, etc), he's the one who strung up fairy lights all around the house and not just their room, he tried really hard to learn how to cook (Doom still banned him from the kitchen though because he set it on fire way too many times) and keeps the kitchen stocked up plenty, and he can afford anything Doom could ever want, due to the donations of his followers. Doom never asks for much, besides for Mephiles to stay home longer. Mephiles does not mind this, he goes insane for any and all affection or attention his husband gives him, to the point it could be considered concerning. If Doom wants him home, he's fuckin home, Locke can take care of the cult in his absence.
Time for the more concerning bits. When Doom ever leaves the house by himself, which is rare, Mephiles has his own followers watching to make sure he's okay and attack anyone they believe is a threat (just as Doom in other timelines would have the Black Arms watching Mephy or would straight up follow him himself), Mephiles has sacrificed those that don't agree with their union or mentioned anything negative regarding Doom or threatened him in ANY way as he's the yandere in this timeline. Doom has killed and eaten those who have spoken badly about Mephiles and his cult, though he's nowhere near at the level he is in other timelines. They've switched places so hard, if any of their counterparts saw them they'd be completely beside themselves, ESPECIALLY Neutral and Second Chance.
In regards to their kids, they have a whopping 8 in this timeline so far, having kids doesn't threaten Doom's retirement in this timeline, so he doesn't try to tell Mephiles no when he tentatively asks. Shadow handles all their Black Arms training and tutoring as well as handles the selection of the next heir between them and his own children, as Doom would have been if he was still in power, so it's not something Doom has to deny himself or his partner.
Mephiles is also a muuuuuuch better parent in this timeline, in most other timelines he's more of a bitchy facebook mom, but here he actually puts in the work and he's a lot sweeter and more attentive with them, taking a lot of the strain off of Doom and letting him relax more.
Now onto more of Mephy's extended family.
Mephy has seen his uncle Chip fight Dark Gaia btw when it happened in the time of King Arthur, he had no idea though that they were related to him until waaaaay later when he and Ariem properly first met.
For context, Dark Gaia and Chip were the rulers of the Gaian Empire, so Ariem was brought around them a lot growing up by her father. That's also how she became best friends with Doom, as they were babysitting him and his brother a lot at the time. Chip was friends with Doom's dad before the forever war between him and his brother, and would often take the boys off his hands.
So with all this in mind, Ariem caught on pretty quickly that Mephiles was Dark Gaia's kid, he looks a lot like him. She didn't find out she and him were cousins though until Son was brought home by Mephiles' grandson Hypersthene waaaaaaay down the line, and Son sensed that all three of them held similar energy within them, kind of like a familial scent. Ruin (Mephy's mom), Rot (Son's father), and Revenant (Ariem's grandparent) were all triplet siblings.
^^^ The cousins properly finding out and having a convo, but also Mephy and Dark Gaia comparison. Dark Gaia only gained a third eye and darker fur after marrying Ruin.
