Celebrating pride month by reminding everyone that Disney owns ABC and gave them the right to their characters in Once Upon A Time, where it was revealed that Disney’s 1998 Mulan protagonist, Fa Mulan, was in love with Princess Aurora, aka Sleeping Beauty, making Mulan a CANON BISEXUAL sapphic.

This, paired with the fact that Merida has an official playlist regarding her internal character, created by Disney Records themselves, which contains multiple love songs exclusively towards women and female-aligned people and she has a canon love interest whom is a nonbinary shapeshifting being made of essentially air only inhabiting human bodies whilst she simultaneously expresses explicit non-attraction towards men yet heavily implied physical attraction towards her gal pal in the Disney-approved YA novel sequel to her movie where she was canonically disinterested in men throughout its entirety. In other words, Merida a CANON LESBIAN by literal definition and canon confirmation.

The fact that my two all time favorite Disney princesses are canon sapphics!! AND are coincidentally always gal pals in every form of media they're in together??

Are they girlfriends? Wives? Sapphic solidarity warrior besties? Either way, I love them dearly. HAPPY PRIDE MONTH TO PRINCESS MERIDA AND FA MULAN, MY CANON SAPPHICS.

1.That’s stupid, because you could change the filters and the lighting easily and it’d look plausible. Not even that, who really cares if it’s not aesthetically pleasing to your eyes? I ship based on chemistry and the overall characters themselves, it doesn’t matter to me that Merida is computer animated whilst Mulan is hand-drawn, they’d be perfect for each other and they mean the world to me. I also don’t see any of you saying this about MoAriel, but I digress.

Yeah, ofc Merida and Mulan were just friends on Once Upon a Time. Totally. Anyways, here’s all the sapphic undertones in their farewell scene because they’re soulmates. But first, this sexual tension in the tavern scene where Mulan was being closed off and distant and Merida wanted to know why.

Back to the farewell scene, the way Mulan is looking at Merida while Merida is at her father's grave. With such sympathy and compassion because she knows exactly what she's going through. My heart is breaking.

“I was trying to get over a broken heart.” Mulan says while smiling fondly at Merida, insinuating she’d already gotten over her broken heart because Merida was there to put it back together again without even knowing it.

THE WAY MERIDA WAS STARING AT MULAN WITH THAT CONTENT SMILE AS MULAN WAS TALKING TO RUBY, I CAN'T STAND THIS STUPID LESBIAN.

These looks they give each other while walking into their farewell hug?? I beg your pardon???

Finally, THIS. These looks of sadness they're giving each other while Mulan is walking away. Are you kidding me?? There's absolutely NO WAY Mulan didn't go back to her after finishing her quest with Ruby to find her pack. There's just no way.  This scene feels so much as if they both still have so much they want to say (or maybe even confess) to each other, like neither of them wanted to say goodbye, how neither of them were ready to leave the other's side just yet.

Also I wanna talk about Mulan shyly smiling to herself after she looked at Merida for the very last time before leaving, like ma'am. MA'AM.

In conclusion, they’re soulmates and I’m SICK. I just think it’s very telling how Mulan is the only character whom Merida has canonically been seen to have a close relationship with outside of Brave. TWICE. Thrice, if you count Pocket Princesses (Mulan is her “bff/closest friend” in her introduction panel).
