this is really late!!! i know!! i just had an inspiration dash today and was like- I NEED TO DO SOMETHING FOR MERMAY. because it IS the month i was summoned Born! so here have Vixen trapped in a bottle as a merperson!

Remember the Mermuse doodle from the beginning of the month? I finally finished it to a point where I’m happy with it enough to share it (Mermuse is some kind of weird Angler Fish/Eel cross mermaid).  And guess what? I finished it IN the month of May, so go me :D!

Decided that I liked the doodle I did the other day of Mermuse, so I’m taking things up a notch and actually making it a full on finished piece (gonna attempt some fun background thing as well). I have to leave this WIP here since I am heading out tomorrow to go up to NC for a few days to visit with friends (and help celebrate a hatching day), but I’ll be back on Monday and hopefully can hop back in on this.

Abilities: Like all her people, she can turn from merform to human form at will, with or without the presence of water, as well as communicate with animals; most easily with aquatic mammals, and with the most difficulty in non-swimming animals. Natural telepaths are able to pick up her mental speach. She also has abilities to warp people’s perceptions. Good ear for mimicry. Very strong and durable in either form. Her tail feels more rubbery than scaly 

History: Speckle comes from a Rivermouth tribe,  a subset of Atlantians, native to brackish waters where rivers meet sea. They are often found in shallower waters around tropical islands. Unlike others of her tribe she was highly curious and followed rivers inland, seeking the source of them. As such she spends more time in human form than most. When not following a river, she has a terrible sense of direction and can often get disoriented or distracted.
