What ringtone my muse has set for yours: this because he is the crabbiest
What contact photo my muse has set for yours:
she thinks she’s so clever having him saved as hotshot. geddit? he’s a hitman? and he’s cool? and the best? and also ok he’s hot or whatever if that matters
if you have... one shot... or one opportunity... to seize everything you ever wanted... in one moment... would you capture it... or just let it slip...??? (aka sunny saw an old photo of his in his apartment - she knows he’s one of [if not the only one] the few people who can go in there without getting hurt - back when he actually still had some. light in his eyes and here he is now, staring back at her every time marcus calls) clean cut marcus is a cryptid
What my muse thinks of the way yours texts:
marcus is definitely not the best person with a phone... or with anything really that manages to bridge a connection to him. thankfully, sunny is used to how marcus can dip in and out of presence, but he’s also never really let her down in that capacity - they’re mutually respectful of the way that they are: sunny knows that when she texts marcus if he’s okay at the end of the day, he won’t always give her an honest or straightforward reply, but some form of gut instinct lets her know the answer either way. marcus is very, for want of a better term, minimalist in his replies, but that doesn’t stop sunny from bombarding him with texts just so he keeps talking to her or let her know that he’s there. if he doesn’t reply at all then sunny will flood him with emojis or gifs until finally she’s made her way to his doorstep to check on him and maybe even stay the night because god knows someone has to clean up his hovel
How quickly my muse responds to your texts:
quick. i think of all the people that sunny knows, marcus is the one that she texts the fastest because it happens rarely and for good reason, so she knows that he needs her when he does it. getting random texts from marcus is like witnessing a miracle unfold before her every eyes and sunny is never ever chill when that happens. she also likes to send him texts that are purely emoji because it’s fun and it almost always gets a confused response from him
How often our muses text:
daily. not in the way that best friends do where it’s every hour, but sunny likes to think that she gives him another link to the world by sending him random stuff like how something she sees during the day reminded her of him or how she just tells him random stories to get him engaged. they’re really more of a face to face type of relationship, even though they’re not also the best conversationalists when it comes to that, but it’s more on the presence really than the things they say. one of the highlights of her day is that end-of-the-day checking up that they do with each other, kind of like what families do over the dinner when they ask each other what they accomplished for the day. they usually don’t have much by way of stories to tell but it’s this little ritual that makes her so happy, she really likes the constancy that he provides and when that falls to the wayside, sunny’s mood immediately plummets
How often our muses call:
the next step in sunny’s panicking when marcus doesn’t reply to her texts at the end of the day. and boy is she relentless when it comes to it. is it a sign of dependency when you can call someone upwards of 30 times because they won’t answer??? i don’t know, you tell me, but sunny worries a lot about him and cares just as much that she doesn’t care if it’s a burden, he will answer and if he doesn’t, there she is, knocking at his door with pizza
Does my muse purposefully miss calls from yours:
no. what kind of sick bastard... no, but really, the most is she’d let it ring for a minute or two because she likes listening to the tone but other than that, sunny doesn’t let a call pass by
Last text sent from my muse to yours:
sunny: some kid actually tried to cheat me out of five dollars today can you believe that???sunny: now someone went home crying and without his weed what a losersunny: ANYWAYsunny: its almost midnight so you should be home by now sunny: lets go get 🍔 🍔 ?

I don't remember if I posted this previously, but here is a little doodle of post Brought to Heel Conall (in human form) leaning against Eon's hand
I could probably tidy this up at some point
A little Brought to Heel chapter 8 author's note
Nobody mentioned or questioned this part in the comments on the chapter so!!! I want to point this out. In this part:
Conall took a second, less enthusiastic forkful of apple crumble. Was he being a creep? Was this some kind of metahuman thing? Was he - but he couldn't, surely... "What's your dessert like? Give me your thoughts." Eon's voice interrupted his brooding. "Ah, sure. It's pretty nice. There's a good balance, it's not..." He trailed off, forgetting the end of the thought. What had he been saying? What had he been thinking about? He glanced down at his fork. Apple crumble?
Eon did a fae metahuman thing!!! They did some fair folk wordplay! They stole his thoughts!! Or rather, got Conall to give his thoughts to them. The way they said it, "What's your dessert like?" and "Give me your thoughts" are two separate statements. When Conall says "sure", he's agreeing to give them his thoughts (although he was saying "sure" about talking about his dessert, fae don't play fair).
Eon noticed Conall's expression and suspected he might be thinking something inconvenient (like perhaps realising that he's not as unaffected by a metahuman transformation as he's convinced himself he is) so they used a trick.
If Conall hadn't signed off that one email with "yours", this trick wouldn't have worked as well on him, either.
I am doggedly (ha ha) persisting in working on chapter 8 of Brought to Heel despite various factors
Here's a small preview. Eon and Conall's somewhat portentous dinner date chats:
"Twenty years is a significant amount of time for someone at Orpheus. All that time and you never came close to getting involved with a metahuman?" The question shocked Conall out of his melancholy thoughts. "I - no, never." The 'until now' went unsaid. "Of course I had colleagues who did, especially when I was in containment, but I switched to the administrative side of things pretty early on. And the idea of doing anything with a containment subject, it felt..." Unprofessional, he meant to say. What slipped out was, "Impersonal." "Lucky for me." Eon grinned, but this grin was sharper than human, and when they blinked their pupils were the horizontal slits of their metahuman form. Conall felt a prickling blush climb up the back of his neck and his ears. This was bad. This was a bad idea. He needed to get up and leave, but his legs refused to move. He might as well have been strapped into a rollercoaster, heart racing with adrenaline as he sped towards a foregone conclusion.
Brought to Heel Chapter 8 WIP preview
"You are so cute like this. How are you so fucking cute?" Eon made a comically scrunched up expression, stabbing their fork into the last bit of chocolate cake.
"I'm not cute, I'm 43 years old," Conall said reasonably. He had no idea what 'like this' meant, but it didn't stop his face from heating up.
"No, that just makes you cuter when you're all shy. It's ridiculous. And nobody's snapped you up yet? This whole time?" There was a glint in Eon's eyes like they wanted to pick him up and carry him away. It made his gut do a thing that was half butterflies and half unreasonable lust.
