I'm new in the tma fandom so I'm not super familiar with the going ons within the fandom. what is this about the fandom being homophobic regarding twinks? not trying to stir anything up, I'm just curious as to in what way this is a thing.

a lot of fandoms, TMA included, seem to consider twinks an Acceptable Target. calling Elias the token White Podcast Twink, and referring to any headcanon of Martin they don’t like as “twinkifying” him, and catapulting from that to be insulting.

what people mean to say is “skinny.” but instead they say “twink” and it’s frankly pissing me off. treating twinks as an Acceptable Target when just a few years ago the Pulse shooting in my state happened sure makes me uncomfortable.

and again, it’s not just TMA. my friend is in Fire Emblem fandom right now and the exact same shit anytime anyone writes/draws a certain character even a lil bit soft, and i am still baffled at someone throwing shade at “that twink from Check Please!” you know the webcomic that is about hockey and about living with homophobia in sports? yeah

as a trend, i hate it. it makes me fucking uncomfortable and it’s getting so common i see it at least once a week (though sometimes i hit jackpot and it shows up on my dash like five times in a day! whoo)

i’m not here for looking at an extremely visible group of queer people and making them into a punchline. or, at worst, portraying them as a bad thing. every time i’ve seen someone referring to “twink martin” it someone insulting another person’s headcanon, and fuck that and fuck off and get a life.

like two weeks ago, my boss at work noted with bemusement that gay men (as in, gay men she can recognize as a straight person) always carry pepper spray. and i laughed with her about it but also. there’s a fucking reason they do. esp in Florida.

my point is... twinks are good. twinks deal with a lot of bullshit. twinks are not our Acceptable Targets. when you say “twink” when you mean “conventionally attractive” you are showing your ass. no one is immune to homophobic propaganda.

Does Nevar enjoy napping on top of your lap or making a nest in your hair?

Lap, yes. Hair, no. And not from his own lack of persistence, I assure you. Nevar, that monstrous crow, certainly enjoys testing me with that. 

He seems to assume that since Jonathan allows it, I’ll do the same. I’ll have you know I take a bit more stock in my appearance, and do my best to keep my hair in order.  But, when he plays by the rules... my frabjous little Jubjub bird knows he is always welcomed to rest in my lap and soak in my affections.
