For the fic writers ask: ❤️😎💌
hi!! thank you! ☺️
❤️ What is your favorite line that you’ve written in a fic?
oooh. While trying to answer this, I realized that I don't usually have specific lines that I'm proud of (for some reason). But I found a few that I like because I'd like to think they convey a lot in one sentence.
From "the same," I liked how this one turned out: Leon looks like another person, a stranger, whipping through one headlight before the other.
From "Reaching, Searching, Never Stop," I enjoy the first line because I feel like it prepares the rest of the story: Chris’ mother would be disappointed by how little he plays his guitar.
😎 What fics do you prefer on a scale of canon compliant to wildly original?
For my own writing, I am 100% in the canon compliant camp. I have an intense desire to make things as "realistic" and convincing as possible, which includes making it work with canon. Plus, my interest is in the canon material, so I have a lot of fun doing the research (which usually includes watching playthroughs of the games).
As for reading, that scale doesn't really affect what I prefer. If something has an interesting premise, I'll read it, regardless of how canon compliant it is.
💌 Is there a favorite trope you like to write?
I'm sure someone could tell what I like based on my fics 😂. I usually end up writing friends-to-lovers (if it's a story with a romantic or sexual component at all). I like hurt/comfort, especially someone being comforted when they are crying/panicking. Yay.
I don't know if I'm a particularly trope-y writer though. This might be a PDA thing where I don't want to give the people what they expect or want, lol. It's usually only in hindsight that I realize I could have utilitzed a trope to make something more fun or interesting 🤦.
