Platonic mikamisa is my otp because just imagine. They meet when Kiyomi introduces them for business purposes, it’s hate at first sight. Teru thinks Misa is stupid and Misa thinks Teru is pathetic. They do everything short of actually murdering each other (they come quite close more than once) and by now Kiyomi and light are begging them to just deal with the other? Please? So we can focus on killing the people who actually need to die?
So. It happens slowly. They have the same music taste, for one (oh my god, you’re cultured?!), they’re both orphans from Kyoto. And they’re polar opposites and bring out the worst in each other. By the time they do get along they get along a little too well and Kiyomi and light are regretting everything they said because them being friends is genuinely worse than them trying to kill each other.
