okay i know el deserved to die since she tried to steal mile from will but the duffers saying that she represented childhood magic and had to die for that is really messed up???? like i know ill grow up someday but i don't wanna let go of all the fun stuff! i wanna keep drawing and playing games and talking about the shows i like!!! just because ill have to pay taxes and stuff doesn't mean i don't want to have fun :(

can i be honest. mileven x byler discourse is pissing me off to the point im starting to unship my ship just because bylers and milevens are so damn annoying. you people both suck and no one is better than the other!!! no one got what they wanted!!!! u can keep fighting but at the end we're both coping with the fucking shitty ending BOTH got so just pack it up and js go add to the feedback loop in your own ship community oh my days

Can we talk about how el, will and mike are a classical love triangle?? Its so obvious its emberassing atp. I call it a simple "the vampire diaries" situation, a girl (in st pov mike) is introduced to a new love interest (st pov, eleven) they fall in love and spend time together, however, the love interests brother (st pov will) is the girls, possible new love interest (aka mike) , the girl and her possible new love interest, spend thier time searching for current love interest, however, they slowly fall in love (exactly what s4 of st is). It is THAT simple to paralel byler.

the flowers theory

as we all know from the dreadful airport scene with the most awkward byler hug that we’ve ever seen, mike gives el flowers that he picked from hawkins.

yeah yeah this scene whatever. at this hug, mike exclaims that she’s squishing her present which is a handful of flowers.

“I know you like yellow but now i’m realizing it’s too much yellow and i know you like purple so i got purple in there so i kinda did a 70/30 split” 

^(done off memory, i’m not sure his exact words but that’s close)

when i looked at that bouquet it’s definitely like 90/10 split of yellow and purple flowers and here’s my theory.

mike was not thinking about el when he was picking those flowers, he was thinking about will.

yellow has been will’s designated color since the beginning of time, and mike was picking all of the yellow flowers. i feel like mike’s thinking was something along these lines: 

“i need to get flowers or something..all of these flowers are yellow, will likes yellow. mike picks hella yellow flowers oh shit, these aren’t for will, these are for el mike throws in purple flowers to make it less suspicious”

if mike’s first thought was getting these flowers was for el, wouldn’t he have gotten all of the purple ones first? because if she was the first thought, there’d be more purple flowers than yellow flowers. 

and because mike seems to realize that there’s too much yellow to pass his thinking to el once she gets them and he split second freaks out and stammers explaining himself and his thinking which causes him to not hug will.

he figured out that his cover might have been blown in the 15 seconds it took to give el her flowers and needed to pull the curtains fast, resulting in the “oh hey!” shoulder tap thing.

god it hurts to look at how awkward that was

but that’s just a theory. 

is it a reach? maybe, but i’m sticking with it <3

i think mileven's gonna breakup in s5.

not bc of mike's sexuality or el's crave for independence or anything, which are both large potential factors.

but rather, i think that mileven is trauma-bonded and their relationship, romantic or platonic, is built on their shared trauma.

we know for a fact that el isn't interested in anything that mike is interested in (dnd, fantasy, sci-fi, etc etc) and that mike isn't too fond of anything that el is interested in (even tho el is still on a journey of finding out what is our there that she likes)

something they have in common is their trauma regarding to the upside down/alt dimension monsters. even though their trauma isn't on the same level, it is still trauma that they both went to

i think in s5 they'll go through experiences and they'll realize that "huh. maybe the only thing that i know about him/her is what she's/he's gone through and we shouldn't be togehter"

the external factors of mike's sexuality and el's crave for independence could play a part in that too, but all in all it's the realization of their trauma bond.

tldr; mileven is trauma bonded and they only reason they're still together/have been together so long is bc their shared trauma keeps coming back
