Vee's End Update Pt. 22 - Void Fire
Void Fire is a new type of fire that is a deep Purple in color. If you light a block of Pale End Stone on fire, then you'll find that it burns forever with this eerie new Void Fire. Void Fire emits a light level of 5, making it an incredibly dim light source.
When you stand in Void Fire, it deals 3 damage, one more than Soul Fire, but will not actually set entities on fire. They can walk out of it and be completely fine, similar to the Ender Dragon's breath attack.
Interestingly, Void Fire seems to have a correlation with Dragon's Breath. Adding it to the crafting grid with a stick and some coal makes a Void Torch, which shares the fire's purple coloration and dim lighting. This Void Torch can then be combined with iron nuggets to make another dim purple lighting object, Void Lantern.
Dragon's Breath can also be combined with sticks and logs to make a Void Campfire, which shares the increased damage properties of Void Fire. Interestingly, despite the Void Fire coming from Pale End Stone, none of the recipes actually use it. Maybe Pale End Stone naturally contains trace amounts of Dragon's Breath? Hard to say for certain.
So yeah, a new dim purple lighting option from the Dark Side of the End. If you're going through the darkened islands, fire will have a harder time lighting your way, but can also make for some cool unique Purple lighting options in your future! And maybe, you'll see these blocks again later...
woodland mansions, everyone!
The grand finale. Might make this my new blog banner.
