Klaatu (Skiff Outfit). Back then we all thought that Klaatu was a name and this particular henchman of Jabba’s entourage just happened to be honored with an extra figure with different outfit in the Kenner line (a privilege that otherwise only the main human characters, Luke, Han, Leia, and Lando were granted). The guys at Kenner probably didn’t know better, either. I would dare to say that no one knew—or cared. Not even GL. And why shouldn’t the very guy, whom Luke steals the blaster from in Jabba‘s palace (the “palace blaster” [sic!]) later get dressed in “Skiff Battle Gear” and join the action on the “Battle of Cartoon”? Fun fact (but everybody knows that by now I guess): this fellow was portrayed by @coreydeewill Another fun fact: the One-Man Sail Skiff could never be seen in the movie. The idea of the Mini Rigs was to provide budget priced vehicles that would look as if they could have appeared either in a blink-and-miss moment or just outside of the movie frame. Imperial Sentinel and Armored Sentinel Transport Five (AST-5). Little did Kenner know back in 1983ish, that there will be a Dark Empire Comic with Imperial Sentinels in it. However, AST-5 was kind of Klaatu’s (or any of the other Jabba’s henchmen’s) offscreen vehicle, which would match Tatooine’s sand color more than Imperial warrior’s robes. Looking back, this mini rig is weirder than most others (not as weird as the CAP-2, though) and it feels less Star Wars-y than some others (I personally think that the first three, including the odd PDT-8, really worked well for Hoth). Anyhow, got this thing just recently for little money and it’s in perfect shape.
