Shazam Legends: Mister Atom
Mister Atom first appeared in 1947 as a nuclear-powered robot built by a scientist who died in its creation. The robot has increased intelligence, super strength and durability, the ability to fire nuclear blasts, and the ability to render radioactive materials inert. It has been one of Billy's most recurring foes, even acting as a member of the Monster Society of Evil.
You know, I get that Dwayne Johnson was making things difficult for the Shazam sequel filmmakers, who had probably planned on a Black Adam clash, but the fact that they apparently just invented a trio of villains pulled from Greek mythology, when characters like Captain Nazi and Mister Atom were right there, still unused, makes me incredibly annoyed. Mister Atom most notably could be an interesting villain for a sequel, maybe built by Sivana, under the direction of Captain Nazi or something, and they could all be later recruited by Mister Mind for his Monster Society. I imagine he'd be mostly a CGI robot, so no casting there, really.
Dr. Sivana: (holding a meeting with the Monster Society of Evil) You're all probably wondering why I called you here-
Black Adam, Mister Atom, Ibac, Crocodile Man, & Mister Mind: To kill Captain Marvel?
Dr. Sivana: Um, well... yes. That is why I called you here.
Georgia Sivana: (bursts in) Daddy! Junior broke my invention!
Dr. Sivana: Not now, Georgia!
Black Adam: "Daddy?"
Ibac: Oh, yeah, that's right. You've never met Sivana's kids, have you?
Black Adam: Wait... he fucks?!
Mister Atom: My database suggests that Dr. Sivana indeed fucks.
Black Adam: OH, GODS! I SEE IT WHEN I CLOSE MY FUCKING EYES! AAAAAH! (collapses)
OK more work on Mr. Atom using the Utsuho Reiuji inspo (+my initial sketch bc I think the head is going to remain mostly unchanged from that). I was originally envisioning him as more "muscular", but I am actually quite partial to this lankier look... 🤔
I might switch out his yellows for a sicklier yellow-green/green just to drive home the toxic feeling but we'll see!!
