Who is your favourite Dead Poets Society character?

Charlie Dalton!!!!!!!!

It helps that his actor is a complete sweetheart that I've been lucky enough to have a few interactions with!

Charlie has been my favorite character since my first watch through of Dead Poets Society for a number of reasons.

I've always been the loud, bubbly, out going friend, the one who tries their best to make everyone around them happy and laughing, to make sure they all feel supported.

But with that comes the fact that I've always hid my true feelings. I don't talk about when I'm sad, when something hurts my feelings I smile and push through it, act more mean than sad to defend myself. I put up the act of the outgoing, strong, stubborn friend to hide how sad and scared I am in my daily life, because I don't want to worry the people around me, and I see alot of that in Charlie, too.

Maybe I'm projecting onto his character, who knows, but Charlie has always seemed to me, to be the "comedic relief" friend, the one people go to when they need cheering up or need to vent about someone, because they know he'll always listen and go along with what they say. Charlie creates the personality "Nuwanda" to make himself brave, to make himself daring and outgoing- to hide his true self. In many ways, I feel like I've become my own version of "Nuwanda", an alter ego- or a mask I can put on to cover up what I don't like about myself

I think every character in dead poets society is beautifully written and has a very well written, deep personality. There is atleast one character in the movie for each person to relate to. I love dead poets society :,)
