Memory of fate: Lodi
-The Redstar Leans against the railing next to the man out of time-
So quite the day we’re having huh?
-Lodi looks at him with a confused expression-
Why are you acting so casual about this?, isn’t this something you haven’t dealt with??
-the Exo sighs-
Just trying to light the mood, keep my head straight….a good friend taught me that…
Oh…Sorry just this whole thing-
-The Exo cuts Lodi off-
Ain’t gotta apologise, this whole thing ain’t something…Normal?…and you got the whole weight of the past on your shoulders….so I can cut you some slack with being stressed to hell
-Lodi crosses his arms-
Right, cause guardians know so much about memory….sorry just don’t know how you can get remembering the past then having everything ripped away from-
Maverick….
Huh?
-Lodi looks confused at the Exo-
Maverick…..that is or….was my first name at least before I….Become a Guardian….even my current one just comes from an old Jumpsuit o was wearing when I rose up…..
-Lodi looks at the Exo more confused-
Why are you telling me this?
-The Exo looks at Lodi directly-
I don’t remember anything from my past…only sense of familiarity and bits here and there….probably because of the being an exo thing…..I had to find my own grave to find out my god damn name for crying out loud…
-An awkward silence settles between the two-
…..I..I still don’t understand why you’re telling me all this?
….because……Because….You had to them lose…and for their memory to keep on living….I don’t remember anything from my past life….i don’t the people I may have loved and lost….But I know one thing…..When you lose someone it hurts….but as long as you keeping going their memory will live on…..it’s a blessing and a curse….to remember…..to keep a part of them alive in some way…..
-The silence grows, not one word spoken from either of them for what feels like an eternity, Lodi eventually leaning back against the railing near the Exo-
What was their name?
Cayde….Cayde-6…the best hunter who ever lived
Where you two?
No, Just good friends that’s all….he was a mentor to all New hunters….
Sounds like he was a decent guy
Yeah…he was
-the hunter pulls out a tin from his jacket, pulling out a few cookies offering them to Lodi-
Here’s a taste of home….or something close to It, I guess
Thank you, don’t think I had anything like this in a while….
-The hunter and the man outta time just lean against the railing enjoying the baked goods, not saying much, just appreciating some peaceful time for what it was worth until the tasks present themselves ahead of them-
